My favorite "abide" verse.

1 John 2:24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.

Sounds like when abiding in the word is abiding in the Son and the Father,

and abiding we bear Fruit, (for others), which glorifies the Father.

In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the (Word was God)

1 Jn 2:24  English Standard Version

"Let what you (heard) from the beginning abide in you.
If what you (heard) from the beginning abides in you,
then you too (will) abide in the Son and in the Father"

"
I and the Father are (not is) one.”
Think on that...default_cool2.gif.3b3560be3ff9dea51116f9f58e5cd656.gif
Cool.

God is Light!
God is the Word!

Fruit comes from doing good. But we want fruit from the vine. So the good comes from obeying Jesus commandments. Love others as I loved you. If one refuses to obey Jesus they are cast as a branch into the fire. God gives one a lot of time. Like in revelation Jesus tells them to repent lest I come against you with the sword in my mouth. Jesus waits until he is sure it's no use.

My bible Jn: 15 says fruit comes from abiding in Christ, which means as a branch we bear the fruit the vine produced.

I can not bear fruit unless I abide in Christ. Jesus says unless I abide, I can do nothing.

In Christ I can do all things. Not I, but Christ. I abide and Christ works through me.
When He works through me, when abiding, I bear his fruit.

You say "Fruit comes from doing good"  Yes, but I know doing good only comes from abiding in the True Vine, Jesus.

"So the good comes from obeying Jesus commandments. Obeying to me is abiding, in the spirit, His will.

Jesus said if my words abide in you you will bear much fruit. I agree with you. Also Jesus said to keep his commandments to love one another and so bear fruit. Doing good to others will bear fruit. we abide in him by keeping his commandments.

We all have to deal with one another in life. In Christ, we do so with patience, long suffering with Joy, etc...

by the power of the Holy Spirit. Other people make me realize how much I need Christ to be like Christ, and

hopefully become less of a burden and more of a blessing for them. WE can do all things in Christ, for we are

seated together with Him in the heavenlies.

Not sure about "wheres the fruit" being said or where. Look how a GOD talks to something like a ant and say the Sun. God comes down to my level. For me I forget "text" can be taking so many different ways that you never once meant it the way its "printed".

As for seed falling dying. What came to mind was a dream I had not to long ago. It was this huge plant with something wrapped around it and He just said "you have to let them grow together". Not what you were talking about I think sorry.

I can't speak for anyone else, but dealing with myself reminds me of my desperate need for the Lord to teach me what my right and left hands are doing. Were it not for the Lord, I wouldn't be here today.

There is a pretense afoot which proclaims, "They're terrible! Lord, help me deal with this one!" Is that so? The Lord and His apostle Paul teach us to examine ourselves first:

“Do not judge, so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye!" (Matthew 7:1-5 NASB)

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5 NASB)

Be wary, unless the one who judges another finds themselves as the terrible one.

What are you talking about here? Bearing fruit? The OP points out that fruit often takes time to manifest,

and asking "where's the fruit" can be hasty, as the parable pointed out. Sometimes a person or situation

just needs a bit more loving attention. Rather than ask "where's the fruit" as a criticism, ask what can we

do to bring forth fruit? The caretaker says, "let's give it more time". Shouldn't we say the same thing as

often as possible before dismissing someone?

@Sower Great passage there; and I was thinking of how it links with the idea of 'continuing steadfastly' in Acts 2.42 activities in Christ.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
