Here is what GotQuestions says

The law of God given to Moses is a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that the Israelites' behavior reflected their status as God’s chosen people. It encompasses moral behavior, their position as a godly example to other nations, and systematic procedures for acknowledging God’s holiness and mankind’s sinfulness. In an attempt to better understand the purpose of these laws, Jews and Christians categorize them. This has led to the distinction between moral law, ceremonial law, and judicial law.

Notice God gave a comprehensive law; man put the categories in place.

All law  must be followed or none. By using categories man makes it ok to choose certain laws to go by.

don't think anyone gave you a direct answer to your question.

Thank you for your response.

I was hopping to provoke the poster into some thought about what they were quarrying.

As Jesus fulfilled the law, the dietary and ceremonial laws are obsolete.

The thread has moved on passed this.

Thank you for your response.

Rom 11

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Grace is good will toward others without a law requirement.

@NConly It indeed has got to be all of grace, or not at all......

"All of grace, yes, grace surpassing,
Such a portion to bestow;
But the love all knowledge passing,
Grace has called us now to know;
Love that bore the stripes and sorrow,
Love that suffered on the tree,
Love that shares the bright to-morrow
With the loved ones, you and me." (T H Reynolds)

The violations of the first covenant were paid for by the sacrifice of animals.  The violations of the second covenant has been paid for by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Sacrifices of animals only covered violations, they could not pay for them.  Those sins were hidden until Jesus came and actually paid for them on the Cross.

So the foundation of the sacrificial system is Jesus on the Cross!

I'm not sure what you're trying to say.  Under the Old Covenant, God demanded that animals be sacrificed be sacrificed as payment for sins.  Sins were covered by the "payment" of animals.

The foundation of the sacrificial system is not Jesus on the Cross.  Jesus' sacrifice is the end of the sacrificial system.

Fellow believer and faithful follower of our Lord Jesus, allow me to explain as simply and plainly as possible. Holy Scripture, which is every word in the entire Old and New Testament, is God's testimony.

The Holy Spirit dwells in us: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God is One Holy Spirit using the story of Father and Son to reveal Himself, the Holy Spirit, to the world. Please remember that God is not a man. Christ is God in Spirit.

The story of the Holy Spirit Father teaches us who is God's servants, Israel. Who is given the Word? Israel. And on it goes.

Father teaches discipline, respect, control, love, fear, honor, righteousness, and standards of good human conduct and behavior. Father is hard. Father has high standards that no man, except Jesus, can attain.

Christ Jesus' Father is Jacob's God.

Christ Jesus character role was only to reveal the Prince of Peace. Jesus did not bend nor break a reed. Christ teaches love and mercy even unto the point of death.

Father is the One who pours out wrath and vengeance and judgement on His enemies. This is why I fear God and Love Jesus.

"Father is hard. Father has high standards that no man, except Jesus, can attain."

All Christians have died to themselves and are alive in Jesus Christ.  We are His body.  So, since we are in Christ, we have attained those standards.  And while we are still alive in our natural bodies, He has given us the Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth.

That is what the Gospel clearly says.

To address "sins that will keep us from heaven". Might be wise to post the scriptures your talking about since some are talking about unbelievers. For me the only way I get in is by believing in trusting in who Christ said He was. There is no sin I do that He didn't die for. Now when I say that another word has to follow "repent". I can not freely sin but when I do I repent. So those that sin never repent do as John said say murder will not get in. There is no believer that loves Jesus and freely sins and never repents.

See my righteousness is based on believing in Jesus Christ if I do not believe in and reject what Christ did there is no sacrifice for sin. So there is no sin that will keep me out.. even if I forget to repent.. I already believe in receive what He already did for the world.

Oh if you ever hear God talk about "His book" there is OT NT. Its all of His word. We here divide it.. He does not. Like believers there is no Jewish or any other to God its one body and Christ is the head. This is short not said well but.. what I believe :)

Jesus taught me a lesson regarding the Law. Do you know why Jesus is not under the Law? Jesus is God. The laws are useless for God because God will not break His own standards of conduct and behavior, which are found in the Law.

If the Holy Spirit of Father God and Jesus lives in me, then the law is also useless to me. Why? Father God has already tested my belief, faith, and obedience to Him.

Jesus tests my mercy, kindness, and compassion and empathy in me towards my fellow man. That is Christ's test of faith in mercy and grace. The Grace of God by the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross and through His blood we are saved.

Simply, Father God tested Abraham for Faith and Obedience.

Father God tested Jesus for Faith and Obedience even unto death.

Will the LORD God Almighty not also test us for Faith and Obedience.

The two are what God commands in His children. Amen.

Did I say other wise?

There is one book.

There are two Covenants, imo they are mutually exclusive.

what is the worth of writing them in ones heart if they return to the written law.

2 Corin 3:

2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

@NConly Wonderful passage tying in with Hebrews 13.20 ('that great shepherd of the sheep'); 1 Peter 5.4 ('the chief shepherd'); and of course Psalm 23...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
