Today started off with frustration with the printer and now I must ask, "Why have we veered off the main topic? The original question? " and yes I know it is easy to do so but God did not create man to be priests kings that was much later. Kings because man did not accept God's Kingship over them and demanded one. But if we talk about why man was created, how did we come to 6 pages dealing with things other than, "Why?". Sorry but inanimate objects are frustrating when not working but it leads me to ask,"Why?" in the s instance.

An answer is in the beginning of the bible with God's first speaking about man: Genesis 1:26 ("so that they may rule") - do you agree?

No. That was man's "responsibility" to the animal kingdom. God could have done that without man. in He Beginning animals got along with each other in the garden. once Adam sinned all nature came under the condemnation of sin and man was needed to tend the animal for his benefit and theirs.

But, Why as the poster says did God create man?

But, Why as the poster says did God create man?

Let God speak for Himself to answer that: "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” (FYI - this was before the fall which doesn't occur until chapter 3)

So it was not just the animals, but over "ALL the earth."  And after God talks about the animals He then further clarifies that this dominion is also over "every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."  This is a direct reference to Satan as mentioned right after the fall (Genesis 3:14) when God tells the enemy: "You shall crawl on your belly upon the earth and eat dust." (man is made from dust)

If you have another verse where God specifically gives the reason why He created man, please provide it.

Ephesians 3:10 accordingly says, "God's purpose in all this was to use the ekklesia to display His wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places."

Huh so there's little green rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

  • Huh? I don't get it. 1

I would like to point out that just focusing on a scripture/s without the context of ALL of God`s word leads to error. Thus, I believe that, yes, God made man to have dominion, but there is much more that God planned for man.

If we just take Gen. 1: 28 as the final say then we are inadvertently saying that anything else God did about man was an after thought, that God was taken on the hop when man sinned.

We know that God is omniscient, thus God was NOT taken unawares but had seen this tragedy of sin and had already factored it in for His great plan for mankind.

So, what are your thoughts on this?

1 John 4:16 (KJV) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

It appears to me God wanted two families out of love, a spiritual family and a bone, flesh, and blood family created in His own image.

We are tri-part beings in several ways, body, soul, and spirit—husband, wife, and offspring/descendants. We desire children and a family out of love, to repopulate, carry on our name and genealogy, to continue reproducing images of our first parents. Kings and priests represent God on Earth in His physical absence, doing what tasks He assigned us, reflecting His holiness, righteousness, and character.

Our planet is an extraordinary place in the universe. Hundreds of things had to be specifically created to support human life. I think humanity is the Lord’s crown jewel of the Lord’s creation.

Couldn't agree more!  And as has been said (basically), we need the rest of scripture to fully unpack what occurs - and the seeds that were planted -  in the first three chapters of Genesis.  God creates man to have dominion. Man falls and gives his authority to the devil and the evil one assumes control over the earth which had been given to man. (Psalm 115:16 & John 14:30)

Then God displays His infinite love and wisdom in sending the Last Adam (Jesus Christ), who is the reality of all the old testament sacrifices, and who gives Himself the perfect atonement for man's sin.  Christ regains the lost authority back for man.  But He doesn't stop there - He comes to dwell in us to animate us and transform us into His image.  So we are now His children with the same life of the Father in us! Hallelujah!:hurrah:

God's manifold love and wisdom will be displayed to the principalities and entire universe, through the church. (Eph 3:10)  And those who allow Christ's life to be lived through them will be overcomers, manifested at the end of the age to cast the devil out of heaven. (Rev 12)

The final culmination of the Father's wonderful family is manifested in the last two chapters of the bible, after all the negative things are fully dealt with.  And this all took place because the dominion God gave man was fully manifested by those in Christ, with Christ in them.

"The God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly!" Romans 16:20

Psalm 100:2-3

    Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

By making man's chief purpose to tend the animals (nature) we make man's importance subject to the creation. With whom did God commune in the garden? With whom did He walk and talk? God wanted a relationship with man and wanted his love and worship because of what He had created for man. Who did He create in His image? For whom did Jesus come and die primarily? Yes, He came to redeem all of creation too but primarily it was man.

In addition..Psalm 8
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

Amen! We are to do these things --> it is our pleasure to do so as His children! And He he has a purpose for us.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
