Ha, I Guess as I think about it the America's Indians should have stuck to their spears and said stay in Europe and fix things right there for yourself do not come here and change our land and our ways to suit your need.

Well, the Indians did have a kind of lousy immigration policy.

Maybe we could learn something from that.

I second what @Sower wrote. Come on down to New Mexico. We're next door to Texas!

Bueno, my friend. Think my enjoyment of hot chile peppers is odd or out of place? It's not odd or out of place in New Mexico. Hot chiles are a tradition and fixture of New Mexican cuisine. Down here, the question is...

Green or red?

A little bit of history is in order: indigenous people grew their own variety of chile peppers a long time before Spain colonized the territory that is now the state of New Mexico. Growing chiles spread from Mesoamerica (Central and South America), and chiles were important to trade among indigenous people. That tradition continues today. Modern Pueblos (native reservations) grow their own unique variety of chiles. I prefer Pueblo chiles to Hatch chiles, but that's because of the greater variety which Pueblo chiles offer. :)

I spent time living in the old Spanish Land Grants in this state. What are the Land Grants? Land given to Spanish settlers during the numerous Spanish expeditions in the Americas. I knew families whose history preceded New Mexico becoming a state in January of 1912. An elder of one of those families took me to visit a cemetery in one of the Land Grant villages. He showed me the headstone of one of his ancestors who died in 1824.

Or Los Angeles!   Actually I enjoy the culture.   Feels like a vacation in old Mexico or Spain at times.   Fiestas, the food, ethnic folk dancing, Aztec dancing complete with feather headdresses and loin cloths!

And just wait for the Mexican Independence Day celebrations!

Where does that idea come from?

It's certainly a mistaken one.

They did it to integrate immigrants into America. Those hoping to become legal American citizens had to pass a citizenship test that was administered in English only. Then the Government started offering it in Spanish. Then other languages. Once they did that, you-name-it-American labels came to be popular. Now, with 18 million illegals living here, they speak their native tongues and only their children learn to speak English as a second language.

Yep they shared with and showed the Plymouth pilgrims how to plant and survive. Even had a feast with the surviving pilgrims after harvest time. There were more native Americans (Indian) at that feast than there were Pilgrims.

As to languages and standards for use of language:

There is need to have an accepted language and definition for words in that language. Maritime history of that need goes back at least as far as the New Amsterdam ( New York City) convention where American English became the standard for maritime (Shipping of goods)  contracts in order to help resolve misunderstandings occurring in shipping insurance contracts.

Today; At California their State law requires that any contract  be written in the language of the verbal presentation made that ends up in a contract. If a presentation is made in Greek the contract need be written in Greek as example. What an amusing nightmare that was  for me back when  we made presentations in multiple languages Such as Korean, Spanish, English, etc. The understanding  in Korean for a burial plot is a word meaning Mountain. That presented a problem as we were selling burial plots on a hill or mountain. We had to have attorneys figure  out how to define that mountain did not mean they had bought the whole cemetery.

At the end of things we had as management to sign contracts we  couldn't read for they were in Spanish , Korean English, etc.

So no one standard language for definitions of an agreement makes for a very interesting set of problems. And it sure raises the cost of doing business which has to be passed on to the end user the customers/clients. Doesn't really matter the history  of Texas New Mexico Massachusetts and so on, what matters is understanding each other today- that does require some standard otherwise courts set up to resolve issues also become deeply dependent upon language interpreters.

And what happened to the native Americans ???? so that is a good argument AGAINST  allowing mass immigration   :24:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
