Blessings Brother

The Word of God is so Beautiful,the Living Word.....Halleluyah,Praise Jesus,my Redeemer Lives

I was scrolling through threads and thought- wait a minute,what's going on here in the Study about " The Great I AM" and I just had to go back to the OP    So glad I did!

The Food for my spirit,the Living Waters and the Bread of Life- Glory to Almighty God Most High

The Great I Am....

and Jesus replied" before Abraham was,I AM ( John 8:58)

@kwikphilly Reminds me also of 'The God of Abraham Praise', by Thomas Olivers:

....................................

The God of Abraham praise,
who reigns enthroned above;
Ancient of Everlasting Days,
and God of Love;
Jehovah, great I AM!
by earth and heaven confessed;
I bow and bless the sacred name
forever blest.

2 The great I AM has sworn;
I on this oath depend.
I shall, on eagle wings upborne,
to heaven ascend.
I shall behold God's face;
I shall God's power adore,
and sing the wonders of God's grace
forevermore.

3 The heavenly land I see,
with peace and plenty blest;
a land of sacred liberty,
and endless rest.
There milk and honey flow,
and oil and wine abound,
and trees of life forever grow
with mercy crowned.

4 The God who reigns on high
the great archangels sing,
and "Holy, holy, holy!" cry
"Almighty King!
Who was, and is, the same,
and evermore shall be:
Jehovah, Lord, the great I AM,
we worship thee!"

United Methodist Hymnal, 1989

I must disagree. God himself put a name on Himself. Psalm 83:18 and Jesus at Matthew 6:9 "let your name be sanctified"

Who exactly are you disagreeing with or more specifically,",whst" exactly are you disagreeing with ?

Not really sure what you are trying to say...

Jehovah,is actually a hybrid form of YHVH- derived from the actual Tetragrammation used in early ancient Hebrew text.... so for simplicity sake it is the English translation....

So what does this have to do with Jesus Teaching " how to pray intimately" and personally by addressing Almighty God as ",Abba" ( Father)?

If you would be so kind to elaborate

Okay, what specifically?

Mat 15:1-9  Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,  (2)  “Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”  (3)  He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?  (4)  For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’  (5)  But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”  (6)  he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.  (7)  You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,  (8)  ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.  (9)  And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’”

@kwikphilly

Greetings to you Kwik, that's what I found out in Exodus chapter 3.

Exodus 6:3 New International Version
3. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself fully known to them.

Exodus 3:14

14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’

The Israelites and Moses had learned to identify the God's of Egypt by their specific name, and they had learn what each one of them was assigned to do.

 Their names were associated with a specific ministry, to what they were doing. God understood how they had learn to think because they same set up was with the Gods of their neighbors and the Greeks and the Romans. God understood their mind set and he wanted to tell them that he is the God for everything, just him alone. One God for all their needs. Later on with the ten Comandments and the institution of the Sabath God lock them up (He put their feet in one shoe) to worship only him. The Sabath it was only for him and he did not leave room for anyone else. He took away from them the worship of Angels and the worship of their Ansestors...and some of them they rebel big time. They could not grasp that one God has all the portfolios of the government unto himself. That could not be found in any religion in the whole world. At that time. And maybe today.

What did God wanted to say to Moses?

Under the Covenant of Circumcision God did not hold their sins against them.

Is it that's why he tells Moses that  the beginning of something New is about to srart. That He will held them accountable for their sins. Later he provided a way for the forgiveness of their sins ( but not all of them) That  He biggins to be with them and quide them. And he followed that statement by giving them the ten Comandments to start with and he followed up with the Levitical priesthood and the tent of Testimony and their religious Calendar and the book of Leviticus and He gave them the Sabath that he wanted them to be a Holy Nation and He began to rein over them and judge the disobedient.

The sons of Jacob got away with a lot of things that they would never gotten away if they lived under the ten Comandments and the Sinai Covenant.

I have no idea how your reply relates to my question for@Know Jah

I mean no disrespect dear Friendnt but I was sincerely hoping to bring @JohnD 's lovely Topic back to the the Case & Point which is a matter of Life and Death and not spiral off Topic into non Salvational discussion

The Point is that Jesus IS God -He Lives!He Left His Throne & Reduced Himself to Servitude to Offer Himself as the Bread from Heaven,the Bread of Life- the Way,,the Truth and the Life

Fully God and Fully Human,God the Son is indeed I Am-God is not a man that He Could lie and by His Very Own Word He Reveals Himself to the Eyes of Understanding

Id appreciate staying on Topic.    the side chatter is merely distraction from the Good News

With love in Christ,Kwik

I've had so many discussions about this very Topic,,especially with JWs who ,imo are quite ignorant in Bible Study-I can't really understand how anyone does not have any desire to seek God,Intimately,Personally ..I suppose the hardening of the heart is the reason because of strong delusion

God Revealed Himself Personally to Moses,Moses as we can see was a foreshadow of our Jesus..... the Mediator,showing God's Called out ones the Way

So what Does God Mean by telling Moses to tell the people " I Am thst I Am" when they ask " what is His Name?@John explained very early on what that means and he went into the transliterations such as " Alpha & Omega" ...also we should get into YHVH to explain why the ancient Hebrews inscribed this Tetragrammation ( much like we see folks write G_d   )

Anyone like to reply ? We know what IT means ( I Am) but who would like to answer God's Purpose for the Answer He Gave Moses

With love in Christ,Kwik

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
