Do you mean practicing sin? There is a difference between practicing sin and stumbling in sin:

Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.” (1 John 3:9)

Practice means to make practice of and get good at it (“practice makes perfect”) and justifying it >saying it’s not sin which is an insult towards Jesus who died for those sins; it’d like saying, nah.. God you didn’t need to die for that.

But all of us stumble in sin or as it really means in the Greek “missing the mark” like archery at a bullseye, the arrow missing the bullseye. For that there is forgiveness:

And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” (1 John 2:1-2)

The issue is the attitude of the heart. A practitioner of sin goes Romans 6 and justifies sin till they reach the final stage of not calling it sin which calls God a liar and tramples on Jesus’ blood and sacrifice. A stumbler in sin or one who sins but confesses the sin, acknowledging Jesus died for it has the right attitude, they missed the mark and ask for forgiveness.

Tell me, how many times can a virgin commit fornication before she is no longer considered to be a virgin?

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ”

I don’t know the heart of the man, God knows.  I don’t know if this “believer”is truly born again of the Spirit or not, only God knows.

I personally believe that a lot of Church goers that struggle with sin may think they are born again, but are not.  Which is why they can’t overcome the temptation of sin.

Without being born again of the Spirit no man will be able to overcome sin.

If you believed the first part of what you said you would have never said the 2nd part. The 2nd part is you looking at flesh not the heart. A verse in Heb used many times to cause His Children to stumble or they don't fully understand it. Its verse like this where we need to know just who God was talking to. See in Pauls day after being saved (Jews) they would sin then try to go back and offer a sacrifice for that sin. The sweet sweet holy Spirit said.. there is no more sacrifice for that sin. Christ can not die again and to do this puts Christ to open shame. Things said here.. we think just because we personally believe it.. not lying not misleading.. yet it can cause His kids to stumble.

There is no sin Christ missed. Some its clear they are not strong in the faith and are still babes in Christ not here to offend. I am secure in my faith. I can boldly say there is no sin I can do that He never died for. That does not mean I can freely go out and sin because He already died for it. Paul talked about this.. remember GOD FORBID!

We tend to only look at this moment.. so last week when you were strong in the lord..you prayed you studied you were out there witnessing.. then you fall stumble into sin... really struggling to get out. The enemy comes rushing in.. see you were never saved.. if you were you would have never sinned. So we look at GOD as a man that forgets everything yesterday and only this moment is true. No He is out side of time.. there is no sin that has the power to undo what only a GOD made new. No sin causes the new man to vanish.. it can't sin.. that is who you really are not this flesh.

No one here that disagrees with the OP wants to freely sin.. nor stay in some sin.. can be stuck in some sin yet fighting to get out.. its wonderful that some never face this.. most of us do.

He that committeth “sin”is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

How many sins do you need to commit before you receive the wages of “sin?”

For the wages of “sin”is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

@Willa Good post...........

We are not going to be lost then saved then lost again, etc. The key is to keep trusting in faith in the finished work of Christ. Romans 8 is a great encouragement to the true believer.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
