This Is Justification By Faith

Philemon 6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual

by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

 

effectual-[G1756] energes=energized, endued with power by the Spirit

This is justification by faith, that our testimony is to the Lord's work.

Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing,

being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see

your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Titus 3:

4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 

5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy

He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 

6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 

7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs

according to the hope of eternal life.

8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly,

that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works.

These things are good and profitable to men.

The Lord says the following thru the Apostle James:

James 2:24
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

James 2:20
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Apparently one is justified by faith AND by works.... and the man that believes justification is by faith only is a "vain" man.

For by grace are ye saved through faith;

and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day......

God IS able, not I, BUT,  Christ...

Who said anything about doing anything in our own strength???

1 John 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Justification by faith is not salvation, it is after having received salvation by grace,

our works are done in Christ. This cannot be attained by following the Law,

but by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Well I do have a little skim forming on top, a protective coating perhaps. Mostly though, I think I am mellow butterscotch.

My own justification  was instant. Was it by my faith?

I was turned about by God the Holy Spirit to seeing that Jesus is my Lord and my savior instantly. I had no faith at all at the time. Doesn't seem to me that I can claim that I am justified by my faith.
