I have a question.  When sharing a verse that clearly states the opposite of what the other poster has posted, and they just ignore it and continue in their thinking and make false statements, personal and not, it seems like just putting them on 'ignore' is like giving up and allowing false teaching to continue.

Thanks.

I don't think the difference of opinion is the issue here. It's the way you deliver it.

"If" a person has a different understanding, this is no indication they are a false teacher. This is a person with an opinion, not a false teacher.

I already refuted your opinion, from Eph 2:8.  In the Greek, genders that match go together.  The words "saved" and "It is from God" are masculine gender, while "faith" is feminine gender.  So faith isn't the gift.  Salvation is the gift.

But you don't have to believe it.  Many don't believe what God's word says.  And I'm not one of them.

So show me any verse that speaks of this "God given faith" that you speak of.

But I'll save you some time.  There aren't any verses.

And I'll share some verses that prove that man IS able to seek God.  First, I shared Acts 10 and 11 where Cornelius and family/friends were seeking God, so God sent Peter  to "tell them how to be saved" (11:17).

Heb 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

It is clear from this verse that faith pleases God AND that people DO believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.

I'm trying to help you become more familiar with Scripture.

Without God given Faith no one could ever believe that he exists....no one would know who he is.

Without God given faith it’s impossible to please him...

1 Corinthians 12:7-11

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 KJV

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

A Born Again is Born Again of imperishable seed, I too am trying to help you understand that the word of God is his Living word is his seed?

What does God mean when he says a Born Again is Born Again of imperishable seed?

What does seed mean...if it’s not the Holy Spirit seed, Gods Living word, his seed, please explain?

Another thing about being Born Again..you do not have to read a Bible in order for God to cause you to become Born Again of imperishable seed...as in when Spirit gives birth to spirit, that’s an act of God.

As soon as I was Born Again, I went straight out and bought a Bible, through Gods Living word we get to know him and as we have that new heart/ Spirit within..that is how we mature and grow in Christ...as the Holy Spirit witnesses to our spirit Gods truth..

We could live without the Bible as we have been Born Again of imperishable seed, therefore he lives in our heart for all of eternity...so we would never die in spirit, what we would do is never grow and mature in Christ...we need that living word the Bible to grow and mature.and to know exactly what we are talking about as it’s the Spirit that leads us through scripture and brings Gods truth to our understanding.

Also there are thousands and thousands who have similar testimonies like mine....because God is a Spirit and like the wind you never know when he will turn up..and we never know where he is going....just like he tried to explain to Nicodemus....Nicodemus didn’t understand because he wasn’t Born Again.he couldn’t understand that like the wind that is everywhere so is the Holy Spirit.......God cannot be contained he is everywhere and sees everything...Praise God.

@LisaLola Great verse there at the end of 1 Peter 1 about being begotten 'by the word of God which liveth and abideth for ever'.......

Because of your own unfamiliarity with Scripture, even AFTER I shared Acts 10 and 11 which PROVES that one is baptized with the Spirit WHEN they believe.  Why haven't you addressed those passages?

The reason being that is not speaking Born Again  scripture.

We are Baptised in the Spirit as Jesus explains to Nicodemus..which you have denied I’m afraid.

We are baptised in the Spirit when we believe in Jesus, if God decides to baptise us in the Spirit...like Jesus explains to Nicodemus being Born Again of Gods seed, is like the wind you can’t see it coming or where it is going so is everyone Born of the Spirit...yet, you refute what Jesus explains to Nicodemus how we are Born Again..you say it’s not saying what Jesus is saying it’s saying...therefore you aren’t also addressing that scripture.

Scripture you post as I’ve said before...we are Born Again and saved from eternal damnation...why do you keep leaving Born Again out of it?..it’s like you aren’t familiar with what Born Again means?

Lisa, even that last post is personal " proves you wrong". I approved it. Just sayin'

You could say, " This is why I think it's wrong" instead.

The way I look at it, we aren't out to prove who is or isn't wrong or right. We want the truth. Don't hit me ok :)

Ok, point taken..I’m open for correcting from the right person, if you;get my meaning,LOL

How is this possible? When God tells us this:
2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV)

[15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Isn't God saying here we are made wise unto salvation & perfected by the Scripture?

@enoob57 Good quote from you there, from Scripture.

(I think what you quoted also as supposedly from me is actually from someone else; I do not recall saying it; and it does not sound like me.)

Amen, we have been Born Again of imperishable seed...even without the Bible Gods word...we still have that Living seed of God in our hearts as we have been Born Again of imperishable seed.we are still Alive in his Spirit..

The only thing that would happen is...we could never grow in Gods Living word..

Lisa, you have posted a concept and scripture to explain it.  Others have expressed concepts and posted scripture as to why they believe that.   I've seen that here for a bit over 20 years now, so it's not really new.

What makes this place different is that we discuss concepts and not each other in our discussions.   It might shock you that I really don't disagree with what you are saying about faith, but I do take offense of how you say it and treat others.  I can also see that there is more to it than what you are expressing, and the others are expressing part of how it all comes about...   Truth is, the others are right in their thoughts also.  But one has to put the entire Bible (Word) together as a whole to make a dogmatic concept.

Different concepts from scripture in my personal studies usually means that there is more to the concept than I presently see, and to get to the whole of the concept we must reconcile the differences.   I would love to see you do that and make peace instead of dividing folks.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
