Please Describe How You See Worthy

And this really was not the intent of my post, but maybe some see asking others how they see worthy opens things up in a negative way.

I like " What do you like about worthy" much better. Almost everything has both pros and cons that are different with most individuals.

I want to outward focus on ministry if led to do so. 

A good friend of mine recently put out this study on Christian maturity which I thought was quite good. 

In his write up he says that the less mature Christian will focus inwardly on their problems, while the more mature Christians are concerned more for others. Not that we don't all, at one time or another need a prayer and a hand, some need that more often than others. 

Maybe a spin on the old, "Say not what can my country do for me, but what can I do for my country".

I think it's more human nature to inwardly focus. I know I've done it a lot. When we are sick or down we don't gravitate out. Social groups including churches see it as them and us much of the time even when a part of a larger denomination. 

Jesus was the perfect example of sacrifice even when others didn't appreciate it. He asked God for mercy on the Roman soldiers ( they know not what they do). 

He came to die for a world of people who "know not what they do".

How we adopt that is another thing. They say no good gift goes unpunished. I can testify to that. 

 

You might remember how I characterized my time in the Army as the first reprieve in my life from a decidedly pathological focus upon myself. Why was military service a reprieve from that? 

I was forced to focus upon matters and things that didn't pertain to what was going on inside of me. Was I breathing? Could I move? Good, then I'm perfectly able to carry out my duties! No grumbling, whining, or complaining required. 

That was a foreshadowing of what the Lord had in store after my time in the U.S. Army was finished, brother. The Lord gave me Himself, and He is greater than I am; giving my life to Christ and dedicating myself to serving Him is the fullness of that example of military service. Considering my neighbor (by extension, you as well) before I consider myself was the means by which I was delivered from the damage I suffered growing up. That was how the Lord purposed to heal the wounds caused by that damage:

Look around. Does my neighbor have a need? Am I able to meet that need? Good, then I'm perfectly able to carry out my labor of love in Jesus Christ!

 Helping others is one of the best ways to get over looking inward. I have found that true in my own life.

A negative way, you say?  I see the older days as a much more positive environment.  I guess it all depends on one's priorities and goals.

I'll let things alone as it seems one cannot see the positive from a time they know nothing about.

Guess I have not thought of giving testimony of Jesus nor getting physically and mentally  involved in missions  and ministry  as risk at all. Following the lead of the Holy Spirit, I suppose, has led to situations I would not have been inclined to go or get into otherwise; but because of the lead I never have felt  to be at risk, nor a risk to others.

Then it went well. It doesn't always go well.

Hi,

All things go well regardless, but I am not sure what kind of "risk"  Starwise is even writing about.

Perhaps WCF presents opportunity to better learn  of one's own standing before God, even that, which could be eye opening inward, is not really risk as much as opportunity.

I do think the ministry that is WCF is Holy Spirit led with much prayer, thinking and  reading of God's word along with  very practical experience by George Whitten.

Risk...

A few years ago, a phoenix man preached on street corners. One day someone objected and shot him in the head. He died a couple of days later.

There is risk sometimes in preaching the gospel.
