Sorry if you are upset, but it is the Prophetic Word that is correct. Where people think some Prophesies fit; is often wrong, as they are not stated as to when and it takes careful discernment to place them correctly.

True, but that is what your former post did not do: provide any scriptural evidence at all. It merely made a judgment, without stating any evidence. Making it unprofitable for anything.

because the Lords wrath is over when the Great Trib finishes

The great tribulation is not the Lords wrath, the anti-Christ is not the Lords wrath.

My basic Understanding of Prophetic Last Week (7 years) of this Age as an Abbreviated Outline:

 1.    The background - Israel returned in 1948 to become a nation again, after 2,000 years of dispersal throughout the world. This is unprecedented in history.

2.    Soon, serious conflict in the middle east/Israel will have the whole world greatly disturbed. A charismatic leader arises to power who makes a grand 7 year treaty with Israel and her enemies – great peace and prosperity takes place in the world (but also many disturbing/destructive natural calamities occur). This is the beginning of the final 7 years.

Vine Abider,

I am posting these insights for you to consider, because of your belief that the tribulation is seven years in length, and because you believe the nation of Israel plays a role during that time also.

God’s objectives for the seventy weeks “Plan B.” Israel was in captivity because it had ruined “Plan A.” If the new Israel cooperated with God, He would bring an end to sin and establish His kingdom on Earth at the end of the seventy weeks. [many as you, believe the 70th week is separated by centuries and the 70th week will be seven years of tribulation]  If Israel failed to cooperate, God promised to destroy Jerusalem and displace Israel with a “new” Israel, starting over again.

One might call the next plan, “Plan C.” Remember Gabriel’s words: “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” (Daniel 9:24, KJV) The objectives presented in this verse are very similar to the objectives God gave Israel (“Plan A”) before entering the Promised Land, but the essential difference is timing. In Daniel 9:24, God declared that He was ready to bring in everlasting righteousness within 490 years of a particular decree! Talk about excitement! Of course, God’s objectives could only be met if Israel allowed the Holy Spirit to have dominion in the hearts of the majority of its citizens. God said, “Work with me and see what I will do through you!” If Israel had cooperated with Him, God would have accomplished these amazing things:

  1. The nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem would have risen from its ashes and flourished above all nations as an example of God’s redemption. (God gave numerous prophecies about Israel’s restoration and prominent role to Daniel’s contemporary, Ezekiel. If Israel had cooperated with God, the prophecies of Ezekiel would have been fulfilled.  Israel’s redemption and release from captivity were to be a pattern of salvation, giving hope to all nations of the world that God would redeem everyone and free them from the captivity of sin and rebellion if they loved Him. The exciting news which God gave to Daniel was that all this could occur within seventy weeks of years. Think of it! God had allotted the remaining time for sin and rebellion on Earth to be a mere 490 years, but only if Israel cooperated! It is such a tragedy to discover that each generation in Israel cared less and less about this amazing opportunity as the 490 years rolled by.
  2. God promised to send His Sacrifice, the Lamb of God, and offer Him up for sin within 490 years. The Savior of the world would appear, and He would die in the middle year of the seventieth week. Afterwards, Jesus would usher in everlasting righteousness, but only if Israel cooperated.
  3. If Israel cooperated with God, they would have the privilege of anointing “The Most Holy.” The term, “anointing the most holy,” is a Hebraic concept that refers to anointing the most holy officer in Israel, the high priest. (Exodus 29:21; Leviticus 4:3; Leviticus 8:30) Even though Israel had long anticipated the birth of Messiah (the word Messiah means the Anointed One), God told Israel they would have the privilege of anointing the Messiah! Tragically, He came unto His own and His own did not receive Him. (John 1:11) So, the Holy Spirit anointed Jesus at His baptism. (Mark 1:10; Luke 4:18)
  4. The fourth objective was an amazing promise. If Israel cooperated, God promised to seal up this vision and all the other prophecies in the book of Daniel, because these prophecies would not come to pass. In other words, if the new Israel cooperated with God so that “Plan B” could be fulfilled, human history would unfold as promised under the original plan.
  5.
  6. The point is that if the new Israel cooperated with God, He would seal up the prophecies given to Daniel, and their contents would never be known or implemented. Notice what God is doing. God spoke to Ezekiel at the same time He spoke to Daniel, and God promised a grand and glorious future for Israel if they would cooperate with Him. The prophecies of Ezekiel were conditional. Israel would be marvelously blessed if they chose to cooperate with God. However, if Israel did not cooperate, then Daniel’s visions and prophecies would be fulfilled. You must see this larger picture of what God is doing to appreciate the contrasting messages that God sent to Daniel and Ezekiel.

Always Starting Over

These objectives have profound significance, because they show God’s intentions if Israel would cooperate with Him. The prophecies of Jeremiah, Isaiah, and other prophets pointed to a grand fulfillment of “Plan A.” Unfortunately, Israel did not cooperate. Therefore, God destroyed His temple, people and city. After seventy years in Babylon, God offered a new Israel “Plan B,” promising to fulfill it within 490 years! It is hard to believe, but the new Israel failed, too. They rejected God and they rejected God’s Son. (Luke 20:9-19; John 1; Romans 9-11) Therefore, God destroyed His temple, people and city a final time in A.D. 70.  Mercifully, God started again with “Plan C.” Under this plan, God redefined Israel. Israel includes anyone who will believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2, Galatians 3) Under “Plan C” there is a new covenant that is even better than the former covenant.

If I were to identify the primary reason for so much prophetic confusion among Christians today, it would have to be this: Scholars are still trying to figure out ways for God to fulfill the many Old Testament prophecies that belong to “Plan A” and “Plan B.” However, these scholars are wasting their efforts because God has implemented “Plan C.” Instead of looking forward to a rebuilt temple in old Jerusalem, we should be looking forward to the New Jerusalem that comes from God out of Heaven. The exciting news is that there will be no temple in the New Jerusalem because the Father and the Lamb will be among their people. (Revelation 21:2,22) Think about this: If Israel had cooperated with God during the 490 years, there would have been no need for a Second Coming. Nowhere in the Old Testament, other than in the book of Daniel, is there a mention of a Second Coming.

Below is something I've been playing with (and mentioned it in another thread).  I see an opportunity to share with unsaved about things occurring toward the end of this age, so that there might be an opening for the Good News.  For believers, the end of the age is about His Kingdom being manifested, but to unsaved, this is "the end of the world."  To us the apocalypse means the wonderful, full unveiling of Christ and the sons of God; but to unbelievers it is something full of dreadful fear.  The Lord can use that fear for the entrance of His Word!

So the 10 steps below are a very basic conveying of my thoughts on what is, and will soon occur, concerning Jerusalem and the middle east.  It is, of course, according to my own theology and my understanding of prophesy.  For nonbelievers I would want to keep it real simple, and might just share points #1 and #2, and perhaps #4, 6-7.  For instance, I probably wouldn't get much into matters concerning the raptures (I believe in multiple, partial raptures).

And I know that believers might have varying views and opinions about some of these events (especially the raptures & manchild), but my purpose in conveying these is in hope that we may see a clear way to present simple, end of the age prophesies to the unsaved, as a means for the gospel.

3.    First-fruits (early rapture) are taken directly to God’s throne somewhere in first 3.5 years of the treaty.

Next items happen in rapid succession mid-way through the final week (3.5 years from treaty enactment):

4.    Charismatic leader dealt death blow

5.    Manchild taken to heaven - Satan is cast down to earth

6.    Dead leader comes back to life supernaturally

7.    Leader breaks treaty 3.5 years after signing it & desecrates the Jerusalem temple, setting himself up as God there

8.    Final 3.5 years start – supernatural calamities upon the whole earth - two witnesses appear

Toward the end of last 3.5 years (end of 7 year week):

9.    Large armies gather to middle east – battle of Armageddon

10.   Christ returns to defeat armies and antichrist, and to set up His kingdom on the earth

Perhaps there is another view that you might consider, and maybe we can identify them as a 5 or 10 or 3 or whatever step process before the return of the Lord:

1) The Jews would repeadedly disobey their God and turn to idolatry many times after the time of King David. They would also disobey the keeping of the Sabbath as it relates to their land.

2) God warned them through Jeremiah for many years what would happen if they did not repent.

3) They did not and God used the Babylonians to punish His people, His city, the Temple, everything..... Many were taken captive to Babylon including Daniel for a 70 year period.

4) God promised to restore them to their land after 70 years. He also had Gabriel give Daniel a 70 week of years prophecy that documented the complete restoration plan. If you woud like, we can call this Plan A.

        a) Within Plan A, Gabriel outlined both the internal and external time elements for the prophecy. It was to be no shorter or longer than 490 literal years, or 70 weeks of years (external time borders).

        b) Within these borders, Gabriel would disclose 3 separate timed sections that would total the 70 weeks or 490 literal years.

        c) Gabriel would reveal that the physical elements of the restoration would take place within the first 7 weeks or 49 literal years. This was the responsbility of the Jews. And they would be successful.

        d) There is no mention of the largest section of the 70 weeks or the 62 weeks or 434 literal years. There is no mention of any physical or spiritual elements to be fulfilled during this timed section. However, it reveals its importance in that in both the "restorative" verses (24-25) Gabriel will disclose this lenght of time when the Messiah will arrive. This obviously is a very important time prophecy as it speaks ONLY to the Messiah. This samed time period is used once again in the "destructive" verses (26-27), which reveals the death of the Messiah.

       e) Gabriel will also disclose what will take place in the 3rd timed section of the prophecy. This is the arrival of the Messiah on the first day of the 70th week. This last week, this last 7 years of the prophecy has been "set aside" by God for the Messiah to arrive and complete His God given mission. The Jews completed their part of the restoration and now it is time for Jesus to fulfill His part... and He will!

5) The mission assigned to the Jews was to restore all the physical elements that were either taken away or destroyed by the Babylonians. They also were to restore the ceremonies, feast days, the sacrifices, offerings, the Sabbatical cyles, etc. And they did. In fact, everything was restored in the reverse order they were either taken or destroyed.

6) The only piece of furniture they could not restore and was the first piece of furniture taken away was the Ark of the Convenant - by Jeremiah before the Babylonians could get their hands on it. And this is also why the last week or 7 years of the prophecy has been "set aside" for the coming Messiah. He will restore the Ark of the Covenant by His presence. Only the Messiah can replace / restore the Ark within the Sanctuary. But He would not or could not arrive until the Jews completed their restorative mission.

7) While the first section of seven weeks, or 49 literal years, is entirely restorative (the physical elements of the restoration of Jerusalem), the third section, or the last week of seven years, is both restorative and destructive.

       a. The Messiah will fulfill all six of the elements found in verse 24 (already, but not yet).

       b. The Messiah will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings (immediately at the cross).

       c. The Messiah will confirm the covenant with His people (immediately at the cross).

      d. The city, the Sanctuary, and the Temple were to be destroyed (in 70 AD).

      e. For those of His people who will reject Him as their Messiah, they will experience complete spiritual desolation from their one true God until the time of the Gentiles is finished.

So, what does all of this mean?  It means that everything written in verses 24-27 represent Plan A - all of this, and certainly more, was designed by God before the foundation of the world. It would only happen this way. As far as the Jews, they had absolutely no choice in the matter. They were given the assigment to reject and crucify their Messiah. They were blinded from recognizing Jesus as their Messiah. There was NOT ONE Jew who believed He was their Messiah, the God of Abraham, Isaace and Jacob. It would take a "Damascus" experience for Paul to understand who Jesus was... only a divine act would reveal this to him.

Now, the other long tem prophetic verses in Daniel will speak to the other party who will come AFTER the cross. He is the little horn of Daniel 7 and 8. He will not arrive for another 400 or so years after the cross. This is the one who for over 1500 years will appropriate His church, go against His people, His laws and commands, claim to be God on earth, able to forgive sin, offer salvation through his church, speak prompous words against His saints and God Himself. This is the one who will continue until the end of the war - until the end of time - until the end of the time of the Gentiles. This is all in Daniel and this is all in Plan A.

So, what about thids 7 year tribulation period where a boogeyman arrives and makes an agreement with Israel only to renig in the middle of the 7 years? No found in Scripture - either Daniel or Revelation. The 7 years or the last week of Daniel's prophecy has been fulfilled - the Jews completed their mission, Jesus completed all of His God given mission (9:24). It was written for the Jews and His city... not an audience some 2000 years in the future.

But there is still one thing that has to be addressed and it too was purposeful - that is, it was also in Plan A.

The Messiah would be cut off exactly in the "midst of the week." This is the middle of the last 7 years of the prophecy. Since the 70 week of years prophecy began exactly in 457 BC, that meant it was to be completed in 33/34 AD. However, the 4th and final Great Jubilee Cycle also began in the same year as the prophecy. Both would be completed at the same time (no coincidence of course). But because the Jews rejected and crucified their Messiah, the counting of the 4th Great Jubilee Cycle would stop. They were no longer in good standing with their God. This clock would stop exactly at the cross with 3.5 years remaining. Of the required 490 years to complete the 4th GJ 0nly 486.5 years were fulfilled leaving the 3.5 years to be completed.

However, as a direct result of their rejection and crucifiying their Messiah, God would make them completely "desolate" for over 2000 years. He would turn His face from them. It is the cross that is / was the "Abomination that causes desolation."  The treatment of their Messiah was the most abominable act that mankind could possibly inflict on their God. Thus, He would make "desolate" from His people jntil the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Once again, this is all in Plan A.

Now, some 2000 years later, God will physically restore His people, His city, etc., once again. And this time it would divinely take place in 1948. However, just as in the first century, the presence of God is not yet found within Israel. The time of the Gentiles is not yet over. And soon, very soon, God will once again perform a miraclous event with His people. Just as He did with Paul, He will give them a "Damascus" like experience when they will recognize the One they have pierced. In sackcloth, they will go out into the world, exactly as Paul did, and preach His Word and the Testimony of Jesus to the world for exactly 3.5 years and this will fulfill the 4th Great Jubilee Cycle. And then the Messiah will arrive. Now I do not know about the "tribulation" period... but there is no 7 years gap theory with an mythical "anti-Christ" figure. But I can imagine just how angry and deadly the little horn and all the folks that have dreank their coolaid will react when they see the Jews preaching Jesus ---AS IT SHOULD BE TAUGHT. They will not react very kindly realizing their empire is about to be taken down. I suspect these final 3,5 years will be completed turmoil, fathers against sons, daughters against mothers, neighbor against neighbors, etc. This will not be pretty. Consequently, this just might define the 3.5 years in Revelation where there is true turmoil on a global scale...but it will not be a nuclear war or battles between  nations... this will be at the individual level.. where the conflict is whether one accepts the Word of God and His Messiah or the false teachings of the little horn for the past 1500 years.

And without going into further details, I can candidly say this time is coming very soon. There other  many different interpretations out there speaking about the timing of His second coming... I have not studied them. But in Daniel there is a very well know verse in 7:25 --- "time, times, and 1/2 time." This time element speaks specifically to the second coming of the Messiah.... We are so close!!!!

Anyway, this is Plan A... there is not Plan B.... we just have to recognize His Plan within the verses of Daniel.

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
