We Just Don’t Noah | Answers in Genesis
Absolutely assumed... but it stands to reason that his work certainly was seen and that he preached righteousness and no one at that time held any thoughts but evil continually...

so it's not a far reach to assume they did ridicule him... after all there was no such thing as rain at that time...

Hebrews 11:7 (KJV)

[7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Had it ever rained before the Flood in Noah’s day? | GotQuestions.org

Yep! There are many things we can imply, assume, and reason in God's word. Our English Bible does not say Bible (The Book), Trinity (Three in One), or Rapture (harpazo) either.

Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

In addition, the command was to leave the Garden of Eden in the land of Eden proper and multiply and take dominion of the world. In the verse above, specifically, where does this apply?

There was a game 45-50 years ago they kids played I forgot the name. Get a group of 7-10 together in a circle and one whispers a statement in the ear of the next to him and it is whispered one by one until it gets back to the one that made the statement and many times it will have changed. Hear say mix up.

It is easy to assume if the lion is laying with the calf it is not likely he will get up go have the lamb for lunch and lay back down with the calf.

People say God never spoke of using the bathroom to people but He did give instruction about it in the bible.

Here's my honest opinion and I don't mean to be harsh.

There are certain pastors [a lot on television], certain SS teachers, certain parents and grandparents, certain Christian school teachers, certain Christian authors, and certain lay people on the internet who TEACH it wrong.

Why?  Why do they do that?

[1] They give their opinions and haven't read it themselves.

[2] They've been taught wrongly and haven't read it themselves.

[3] They read too many commentaries from unreputable teachers and haven't read it themselves.

Why do the people believe it?  Why do people believe EVERYTHING that they see, hear, and read from authority figures or just people on interet forums.

Are they that stupid?

No, they just don't read the Bible for themselves.  I cannot tell you how many Christians do not read the Bible.

Yes, that's also very true.

Make your allegations known by naming false teachers on Worthy, @missmuffet. Name them, and be sure to furnish an example of their false teaching. Otherwise, all you are doing is poisoning the well with suspicions, rumor, and slander.

Finger pointing and name calling? Is that what God wants from us?There is a difference between truth and slander. Does God want us to be ignorant of false teaching that would make other Christians stumble and fall?

Here are some interesting quotes from the Bible and then some that aren't that I put together for a fun Bible class a while back..

Common sayings found in the Bible (and some that are not!)

1.     A broken heart Psalm 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

2.     A drop in the bucket (a very small amount compared to the whole) - Isaiah 40:15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

3.     A fly in the ointment (a small flaw spoils the whole thing) - Ecclesiastes 10:1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savor: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honor.

4.     A labor of love 1 Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

5.     A leopard cannot change its spots  (the inability to change that which is) - Jeremiah 13:23  Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

6.     A man after my own heart (someone who thinks like I do)- 1 Samuel 13:14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.  Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

7.     A sign of the times - Matthew 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

8.    A thorn in the flesh (something irritating and constantly nagging) – 2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

9.     A wolf in sheep's clothing - Matthew 7:15  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

10.  An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth (equal punishment for the wrong done) Exodus 21:24-25 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

QUOTES NOT IN THE BIBLE

(That people are sure are there but aren't) (I know it's there somewhere!)

36.  "God helps those who help themselves"  The antithesis to the Gospel! Quote from Benjamin Franklin

37.  "Cleanliness is next to Godliness"  Obviously made up by someone's mother to encourage bathing.  Actually a quote from John Wesley

38. "Do unto others before they do unto you" Spoken by a cynic.  A misquote of  Matthew 7:12  Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.  (Never called the "Golden rule" in scripture)

39.  "I see said the blind man"  Close but not quite.

40. "God will not allow you to suffer anything more than that which you can handle"  Actually just the opposite. God often allows things to occur beyond your own ability to fix so that you will turn to Him.  A misquote of 1 Corinthians 10:13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

41.  "This too shall pass" - A misinterpretation of many bible passages "...and it came to pass..."

42.  "Money is the root of all evil" The bible teaches that it is the LOVE of money that causes problems. 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

43.  "Pride goeth before a fall" Is actually a misquote of  Proverbs 16:18  Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

44.  "The lion shall lay down with the lamb" Nope.  "But I've seen pictures of that!"  Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

45.  "A fool and his money are soon parted” Uh-uh.   Not there. Sounds like a good proverb, No?

46.  "All that glitters is not gold"  Neither is this one.

47.  "There are seven deadly sins: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride."  These are not listed together in scripture as sins, nor are they any "deadlier" than any other sins.  What is listed is found in Proverbs 6:16  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: :17  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, :18  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, :19  A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

And what more shall we say about the "3" wisemen coming to worship the "baby" Jesus who was wrapped up in swaddling clothes, surrounded by cows and camels and donkeys in a "stable on December 25th"?

We need to be careful that what we believe is from scripture and not from our imagination or tradition.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
