Recently Microsoft/Blackrock and other large corporations formed a partnership to buy the 3 mile island nuclear power plant.  A multi billion dollar investment in US and International Data/AI processing capabilities.   This endeavor requires large amounts of energy, thus the power plant acquisition.  The first ever non utility based - private use of nuclear power.

My first thought when reading about it was --- big brother is on the move,  the implications are mind staggering.  

But in thinking .... could this be part of the Mark of the Beast, a chipping flight following capability on humans?  With all the power outages, and people not able to buy  because power is out after a calamity.... would human chipping be practical?

During the tribulation the earth will go through major disasters -  fire, wind, flooding, etc.  which sounds like - loss of power.  

Maybe the mark is not going to be a chip -  but just a good ole physical marking identifying with a godless leader.

You might be right, but I think it will most likely be a much more mental/emotional attachment to this world leader/system which would be so much more powerful and legitimate than some electronic chip.

 Because how could "they" convince most people to get such a "mark" when so many are already even refusing to get a simple vaccination which is probably harmless?? Bottom line is the Antichrist/Satan is and will be someone to be WORSHIPPED much more than some "mark" which will really only be a confirmation of one's allegiance to this Beast system, IMO.

To my understanding, no one will get the MOB by accident; it is a deliberate act. Short of quoting scripture, getting the MOB requires allegiance, commitment, and worship of the Beast. This mark appears to have a great incentive and benefit other than being able to buy and sell.

Considering what an RFID chip under the right hand or forehead can do right now, advancements in transhumanism, instant identification—information, nanotechnology, remote health/disease monitoring, a one-world currency, 5G, etc. If I were still a betting man, I would be all in with my chips that this mark will be a type of RFID chip, as small as or smaller than a grain of rice.

Another thought: This chip could easily be made visible or invisible through the layers of skin. Why on the right hand or forehead? Those are the two areas of the body with the greatest delta T temperature swings. All energy is mutually convertible, and converting heat swings to micro energy to charge and power such a device is plausible.

Fifty years ago in my 20s, was anything like this even imagined in science fiction, much less our reality of today?

As a lad watching the black and white Dick Tracy cartoons, remember his wristwatch and what it did? I remember, boy, I wants me one of those. Now that is old technology.

You make a great point..."mental/emotional attachment to this world leader/system."  I believe that is what the Scripture actually reveals...I call it "mindset"...and there are only 2 "mindsets" available. 1 is the "worldly mindset" which is the beast that has been active and growing since the Garden of Eden and the other is the "Kingdom mindset" which is fellowship in the Holy Spirit.

These mindsets are based upon "economy" thus "buying and selling"...the worldly mindset is the one that depends upon the world for provision and protection and the Kingdom mindset is one that depends upon the Lord for provision and protection.

"Google is adding nuclear plants to its seemingly ever-growing portfolio. The company has partnered with Kairos Power to back the construction of seven small nuclear reactors in the U.S. It’s the first agreement of its kind.

The first plant is expected to come online by 2030, the company announced in a blog post. Other reactors will be deployed by 2035. All totaled, the deal will funnel 500 megawatts of power to the company’s AI technologies—enough to power a midsize city."

 

Nuclear power appears to be the current choice of power for the future -  which is fine with me.  But the amount of power needed to run so many data/AI centers still makes me think of Big Brother and it's implications. 

I think the 3 mile plant was looking at 2028 to be operational, Google 2030..... so I would expect many changes over the next 10 years..... Jetsons here we come!    (autos, homes, robots, surveillance, health, media, etc) 

and for the lawless leader to execute his powers.... this technology will be imperative.

also.... just a thought..

transhumanism is being pursued and with all the increased technology - could the lawless one be enhanced?  As enhanced it/he could display super human characteristics and intelligence, and if indwelt by the devil..... many might want to think of it/him as a human god......

yup..... the imagination is looking at the future and it's technology and how it can fit into scripture....... so much to contemplate :-)

Once we go to a cashless society, a simple purple smiley face could be the mark of the Beast.  They can cut access to the financial system until you worship/claim allegence to the beast and get your smileyface.

We should not get caught up in the technical aspect of it.

However, in the late 1980s when I was doing a deep research into the occult I had several people who were hard case Liberians tell me the mark would be this:

 

They said it was placed there because of the location of the nails in Jesus's hands and it would carry information who you were.  Turns out they were describing an RFID tattoo.  If you didn't have a hand, they would put it on your forehead and if you chose to be very open about it it would be your choice.

No way to know if they knew what they were doing, but all this has been in the planning stages for a very long time.
