So is " you" meaning just people or are you talking at me.....

This thread is what it is- talking about presenting God's Truth and knowing when it is time to walk away because His Word is not Received

Proof text eg

Matt 10:14

Mark 6:11

Luke 9:5

Let's change that you to "anyone" ok? So any born again Christian can walk away after kindly and respectfully

sharing the Gospel to a person. But that Gospel you are sharing had better be the true literal Word of God and

not false teaching. God doesn't like that because that person is not hearing God's true Word.

Brother- what are you disagreeing about- she's not saying a thing about freewill, you did

She's basically saying what you're saying- only God Can Convict a mans heart

"God gives people freewill, and he respects their freewill. If they don't want to hear, He doesn't push."

 Hi Kwik,

I am simply stating that God did indeed interfere with my own will.  I praise God for that!

So I am stressing do not hive up in disappointment, instead count prayers (Rightly motivated) as answered. That does not mean one does not move along, not at  all. Instead it means God has it covered, one can be confident in that.

A man is still free to deny God's will, but God has made it clear the wages of sin is death. To deny God is to commit suicide; that is the unpardonable sin. If man could not deny God's will then there would be no threat of an unpardonable sin, yet there is. But one has to make a conscious choice to know exactly who God is and what He is. They have to willfully understand that denial of the Holy Spirit is High Treason and High Treason is the death penalty. If they accept, they accept. God isn't going to make someone live who rejects Him.

Hi @Katie Rose Müller I do think Ephesians 2 - the first 9 verses - is a remarkable description of that transition from death to life; all of grace..........

As I understand it denial of the Holy Spirit is unpardonable. Reference Matthew 12

...“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.  Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come."....

Hi all, Personally I am glad and appreciative of all that have preached till they were blue in the face, preaching of the Gospel of Jesus to me.

Though  I agree that no one saves another, that it is by God alone that any are saved from His just destruction, I also share that the  testimony of oh so many has indeed been well used, and is also  still remembered as a giant OH!

It was so when the Holy Spirit turned me about to my  own repentance  in the moment of "specific calling" out to me personally.

Not that I expected testimonies or intended to share one because it's slightly off Topic -so I'll make it brief and try stay to the subject

Preaching Jesus, the Living Word of God ,the Way- the Truth & the Life is the Message of Good News ..... this we know, many Deliver this Message by presenting the Gospels verbatim as it is Written, others as Holy Spirit (Counselor) Instructs - speaking God's Truth in a more personal way ,with a Word personally for a specific person through another person....a Message for the Hearer, often times we don't even know what that means but what God Has for you,is for you...God is Personal and Intimate

Not all are preachers, teachers, prophets or even Discerners but yet ALL are Messengers as they are Living Testimonys,Witnesses

I remember well when complete strangers or perhaps even Angels unaware would walk up to me and say" Run to the Lord, don't walk run" or another stranger would start a conversation with me and in Delivering the Truth I hated them- the Sword of the Spirit goes deep- I did not want to hear the Truth,I was so bound by the spirit of pride I did not want to see myself,my sin-those beautiful children of God simply Revealed to me what only God and I knew..many kicked the dust from their feet,I'd love to say" I remember you,I never forgot the words you spoke to me " and I also remember the ones who wasted both my time and theirs....

Quite frankly the ones who preached " at me" in Christianese were probably more a religious type not Called to preach ,maybe not even Born Again- those pushed me away further. But the Believers that simply spoke to me in plain language ,the cold hard Truth- they Delivered in Obedience, often saying " I'm not sure how to say this....." becayse it wasn't so pretty.... they didn't walk on tippy toes, they told it like it is-not like they thought they should or were expected to by others

We must simply walk in Obedience and walk away in Obedience as well....speak when Instructed,be silent when Instructed

Hi, Seems to me testimonies are always on topic! Topics only provide a plate on which to serve up testimony by witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus.

If it were not so we might as well all be on facebook.

As I view this topic, if it is recorded in the three synoptic Gospels, there is a particular emphasis on the importance of the subject.

Matthew 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Mark 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. Luke 9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

There are certain times and places where it is not worthwhile to say a word. We know the symbolism of shaking the dust off the feet in deaf and hostile territory, finished, done with, will not return, not wasting any more time there proclaiming the kingdom of God.

I particularly like Albert Barnes's commentary of the following verse:

Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Unlike the Calvinistic and T.U.L.I.P. doctrine, I hold that all men (gender neutral) are called to faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. As stated in this thread, I believe the unpardonable sin is the rejection of the calling of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Would a loving God who created us predestine some to be saved, and some to burn in Hell for all of eternity? Of course not. Omniscience is not related to predestination, Salvation and free will, in my opinion.

We constantly debate dispensations, covenant theology, those who never heard the Gospel, etc. The Gospel of Christ will eventually reach the entire world. We see it happening today with our missionaries, technology, and Star Link of a constellation of satellites. I also believe the following is the ages-old standard:

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [Without excuse of who or what?]

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

I believe the above applies to the churches, Christians, and the lost seeking God.

Very recently I heard something that reminded me of my own foolishness .....when I see very clearly a hardened heart that rejects the Word of God I sometimes wonder " do I continue to try or do I kick the dust from my shoes"?

I had always thought that there are so many out there that need to hear so don't waste  to much time on those who do not have ears to hear. Studying on this some I found out it was a cultural custom back then that the Jewish people would shake the dust off their feet when leaving a Gentile place. They showed in doing this that they were carrying no part of that Gentile world with them, including the dust that might cling to their sandals.  (in the world-not of the world)

I get it that when discussing scripture with unbelievers they may also "planting" seeds of 'possible' doubt into my own understanding that may cling-discourage to my faith, so best to 'shake off' any doubts and move on. Whatsoever things are true-pure-honest-lovely-etc, think on THOSE things.

This to me does not negate followup when it presents itself, nor prayers to the almighty for them. (all things are possible)

I do suggest that anyone who is born from above will have a living desire to share the 'good news,' the most important news to whosoever will. I try not to seek reasons presented by other  to NOT share the gospel, lest I become a pew sitter.

Each of us is used by God for HIS own purposes, not man's. My personality affects my method in sowing the seed, and others use a method their own way. If the seed falls on the soil no matter the sower, and is watered, it will grow. Hopefully the weeds or birds will not remove/kill the seed(light) Some respond to the love of God and the good news more readily.

Some through fears may respond more seriously from hearing the flip side, the bad news of eternal damnation and separation from the love of God. I can not know their heart so I try to listen to my spirit that God works through me. All scripture is beneficial, and more so if God has aligned the sower and the soil to meet.

I encourage other believers to pray for boldness to share the word. Each of us were blessed by some faithful believer in our own past that planted a seed in us. And have the confidence God will take our weakness and use it to link us up to the soil God has prepared for us to sow it in.

Praying to God to encounter someone who needs to hear the good news is a prayer that God will always answer. In his time, in his method.

Thanks kwik, neat topic..default_thumbsup.gif

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
