From YouTube doctors...I found out too much sugar causes cataracts so need to cut down on that. Sugar causes the oxidation.

This video mentions an eye drop that this doctor says can help reverse cataracts. Has anyone heard of it or used it? I was looking for it just now and can't find it.

Later today I see my opthalmologist about my Glaucoma so will ask him about the eye drops for cataracts. But it seems most doctors don't tell you much about prevention or natural cures. I go in and he just keeps taking my eye pressure and taking pictures inside of my eyes.

As a doctor, I've never heard of eye drops being used to treat cataracts before.

I did a quick google, and it seems that there is some research going on. But eyedrops at best may slow down the progression of cataracts - they're not a cure. And it's not a good idea to put drugs and things into your eyes without medical advice.

And when cataract surgery is (relatively) cheap and very successful, why not have the surgery and have done with it? I had both mine operated on last year.

My cataracts aren't too bad yet.   My right eye is worse he says.

May I ask what kind of doctor you are?

Hi, Might I jump in with a little personal vision experience?

I have learned  that ignoring high blood pressure can lead to blown out blood vessels in the eye.I have had over 200 laser blasts in one eye because of that leaving me with massive holes in  the vision  out of one eye.

Glaucoma leads to absolute blindness the vents in the eyes becoming narrowed and then blocked add pressure inside the eye that in turn  destroys the retina.

Cataracts are defects that form in the lense  of the eye.

Macula degeneration is yet another issue causing doubled vision and eventually loss of sight, injections of meds into the eye can retard that progress, but not restore lost sight. Wet Maula degeneration is  an expanding bump in the retina while dry is one that is not growing. Injections can slow wet macula but cannot resore or remove dry macula bump. So far there is no surgery that can do that.

In general double vision in one eye is a eye problem whereas double vision in both eyes is a brain function problem.

Far as I presently know eye drops will only moisten the outer surface of the eye. relieving some pain maybe but not doing a thing to alleviate the cause- glaucoma.

Best I can recommend is do not ignore any eye problems, listen to and adhere to eye specialists instructions.

And when it comes time for eye surgery do it! Changing diet isn't going to be a substitute for saving eyesight or what is left of it. IMO, sharing  only as a long term sufferer and patient  who is most appreciative of what doctors have done to salvage my own vision. They have been at it some 45 years now.

May God led to the best care and excellent medical treatment.

My specialty was sexual health. but cataracts are so very common that any major developments in their treatment would be big news in the general medical journal that I still read.

And as I said, I had mine dealt with a year ago - and surgery was the only option. An additional benefit is that the artificial lenses they put in have made my vision better than it was before - I only need glasses for reading small print now.

A number of years ago I was driving my truck down the road and I saw a large reddish dark floater in my right eye, followed by a huge mass of more till my entire eye was covered, and suddenly it busted up into a dark cloud of hundreds of tiny black dots. Found out I had a retinal tear and the blood it released into the vitreous fluid , the floaters, was what obscured my vision. I elected non surgery using a laser to "weld" up the tear. Took a year before all the vitreous fluid was clear. Happened again 1 yr later and after informed surgery would cause a cataract, I still went with surgery so as to have clear sight immediately.

A few years later I received surgery for the cataract when the 'darkness' could not be adjusted with glasses. Instant 20/20 in one eye vision. Few yrs later had the other eye cataract removed, now 20/20. When I finally removed the eye patch and walked outside and looked, it was as if I had been born again with brand new eyes. I could see the sharpness of bark on an old oak hundreds of feet away, no blurring anymore.

My eye doctor was a good friend of my son in law, and when I had wanted the second eye cataract replaced he told me the insurance companies would only pay for surgery if glasses could not help enough to drive a car.  The eye with the cataract was considerably darker, and blurry,  but now knowing what I did about insurance companies policies, I didn't squint and try so hard on the next annual eye exam when they gave me the pre doctor eye exam, and that's when I finally qualified for surgery. Glasses could not help anymore.

Having my cataracts removed and inserting new lenses was the neatest blessing. I once was getting almost blind, but now I see!

Good fortune, Debp

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
