I guess I understand what you are implying by differing 'lukewarm Christians' and 'Born again Christians' . . . but . . . still . . .

Nobody is an true Christian unless they are Born Again . . . .

That is true. Well said but many people call themselves a Christian. Are they a true born again Christian?

What is a lukewarm Christian?

Rev3:

14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Who among us can truly  say we are not lukewarm!

There are a few who are truly born again Christians. They will go in the rapture of the Church and to heaven.

A lukewarm Christian is not a born again Christian, who will go to heaven. That is the problem.

The traits of a lukewarm Christian:

1. You don't surrender your whole self to God. God is not # 1 in your life.

2. Your faith and trust is only at Church

3. You are a hypocritical Christian.

Where do we find that detailed in scripture, namely that a lukewarm Christian - with the three attributes you mention - is not born again?

(if Laodicea is brought forth as an example of lukewarmness, then why are they a church, with a lampstand who the Lord is trying to lovingly shepherd . . . and otherwise exhorted as real - that is, born again - Christians?)

Revelation 3:14-22

“And to the [a]angel of the church [b]of the Laodiceans write,

‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither [c]cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.[d] Therefore be [e]zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

The phrase "I will vomit you out of My mouth" is an example of anthropomorphism, where human characteristics or actions are attributed to God. This specific phrase is found in the Book of Revelation, where Jesus addresses the church in Laodicea:

Revelation 3:16 (NIV)

  • "So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

Explanation of the Anthropomorphism

  • Human Action: The act of vomiting or spitting is a human action that conveys strong disgust or rejection.

  • Divine Displeasure: By using this vivid imagery, the text communicates God's intense displeasure with the lukewarm faith of the Laodicean church. It emphasizes that their lack of commitment is unacceptable.

  • Call to Repentance: The graphic nature of the phrase serves as a wake-up call, urging the believers to repent and renew their fervor and dedication to God.

Purpose of Anthropomorphism

  • Relatability: Anthropomorphisms make divine actions and emotions more relatable and understandable to humans.

  • Emphasis: They add emphasis and intensity to the message, making it more impactful and memorable.

  • Communication: They bridge the gap between the divine and human experience, helping convey complex spiritual truths in a way that resonates with human readers.

In this context, the phrase "I will vomit you out of My mouth" powerfully conveys the seriousness of spiritual complacency and the urgent need for wholehearted devotion. [Copilot Compilation]

We become numb to the price God paid for us in the day-to-day grunge of this world... it's not like our Lord hasn't warned us

We literally have to fight to keep our heart hot to God and His things!

Good Morning All,

First, to clarify the passage in Revelation, He is not talking about Christians (THOSE WHO ARE TRULY IN CHRIST) He is talking to a group of religionists....who play the game the Greek word is used for SPIT/SPEW is a violent VOMITING...so would Jesus, say this about those that are His?

so the term "LUKE WARM CHRISTIAN"  IS NOT REALLY A BIBLICAL TERM...

All who are truly saved, will be raptured to be with Christ...He will lovingly embrace them as his children no matter where they are at in their walk...

[1Corinthians 3:12-15 ] 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation [with] gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he has built on [it] endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

This passage illustrates more accurately the weak vs strong christian ( TRULY IN CHRIST)... and will occur at the BEMA SEAT...

THE BATTLE RAGES TIL THE LION SOON ROARS!!

Do you think the lukewarm Christian will go to heaven? I don't think they will go in the rapture of the Church but will have an opportunity to become a born again Christian in the 7 year tribulation.

“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,

‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.  Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.  He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
