What must I do to go to hell...I just wanna not go to hell, what is it that I must do to avoid it? I mean, obviously I must love God and follow the commandments...but like if I do not go out and witness or save a soul for God, etc., will I possibly go to hell for not doing all I can? For being lazy???

I believe that God's message of salvation is quite simple...

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

and...

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)

But, then James offers us this...

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2:14-20)

...so we see that we need to have faith in God, but as we have faith; out of our faith we do the will of God through works...and by our works our faith is made evident...however do not strive in vain, but follow the lead of the Holy Spirit !!!

DK,

When a person is truly born again a miracle has occurred that will transform them into a whole new person. See, God loves us just as we are, but He doesn't leave us as we are. He knows our potential. He knows our faith, our strengths, our weaknesses. He knows, just like He knew that Moses would be reluctant to go back to Egypt and appear before the pharaoh. He also knew that Moses would have the faith required to fulfill that mission and lead the people out of Egypt.

So, just like Moses, He changes us as we submit to Him. Before a conversion we're full of the things of the world. All we can think of is our next pleasure, our next purchase, our next one upmanship. But, once we've been born again, something happens. We begin to think more and more of heavenly things, of God, of love, of compassion. If we yield, truly yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit, then we begin to desire righteousness and holiness. We want to be apart from worldly things.

DK, when that happens, the worries of the world, of the things of the world, begin to diminish. Our hearts are filled with a joy and a peace that in indescribable. It is then that we seek to do those things that we feel is the leading of the Holy Spirit, not out of fear of hell, but out of love for our Savior.

Everyone changes at a different rate. Me? Mine is slow-going, even faltering at times. But George, for example, had an amazing transformation! He immediately got rid of his t.v. and books, and cd's, and spent a full year reading the bible, again and again. (correct me if I'm wrong somewhere here, George) And Dr. Luke! I'm never ceased to be amazed at him! He is so on fire for God and it grows and gets bigger all the time! He is a fire that cannot be put out! And we witnessed that happening right here on Worthy.

So, don't be concerned with hell so much as yielding to the calling of the Lord. Let Him be your guide and counselor. Since the creator of all things is our God, we have nothing to fear.

You will not go to hell for what you do. Witnessing and following commandments are good but will not save you. The question is, are you truly saved? Is Jesus truly your Lord and Savior? If he were, your desire would be to serve Him, and to do only those things that please Him. Our works do not save us, but they are an indicator as to whether or not we are truly saved. A true Christian profession is followed by corresponding actions.

What must you do to avoid hell?

1. Realize that you are sinner and your hopeless state before God(Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:9,19,23; Galatians 3:22)

2. Repent of your sin (Matthew. 3:2, 4:17: Mark 6:12, Luke 13:5, Acts 3:19)

3. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for Salvation (John 3:16-17 Roman 10:10-13)

Once you have done this, you are born again. Your next step:

4. Follow the Lord in Believer's Baptism (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38, 8:37-38 10:44-48)

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

and...

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)

these verses that Mikeyjay quoted are at the heart of salvation daughter. I would give some very long thoughts about the first one about confessing that Jesus is your Lord. When you do that, you must actually make Him your Lord and become His servant..... meaning to actually do the thing he told us we should do. It would help to read the 4 gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and just make a list of the things he told us was good and those commandments that we have to do. People who are really saved and are His servants and He their Lord will live lives using the instructions he has given.

If you have no desire to live for the Lord or be a part of His body, then you need to re-examine the authenticity of your salvation experience. "If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away: Behold all things, are made new." (2Cor. 5:17)

To answer your first question is very easy. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

To address the rest of the post the scripture is clear.

Ro 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Ga 5:24 And they that are Christ

No I understand this...I believe, I dont fornicate or date at all for that matter, I try not to lie or steal, I try to do all of these things, but I am stilll a sinner and always will be:

I am lazy, I sometimes get annoyed with my parents and sulk instead of doing what they ask, I dont like a lot of people, I dont like church and I dont go to church. These things about me will probably not change , or if they do I will never be perfect. So...I am afraid of going to hell...I am afraid of seeing God and having him say to me, "You were lazy and you did not spread my word. YOu didnt go to church at all and you were disobedient to your parents"...And then he'll send me to weep and gnash my teeth....

I will never be perdect, I will always be as I am and I will always make mistakes and be much less than perfect, sinful even, and so I fear hell....I mean what if heaven is really only reserved for the Mother Teresas of the world????

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
