You know, I can appreciate everyone having different interests, and thus other interests do not appeal to them -

but why is it that so often when I mention astronomy topics that people have to respond with mockery?

The problem is not astronomy, the exploration of space or scientific research into the unknown.

The problem is the obsession (yes, obsession) with a hunt for extraterrestrials; life in outer space.

The extension of evolutionary theory into the cosmos.

The existence of beings older and smarter than ourselves who perhaps propagated life on this earth.

BEWARE!

..... and guess what Old Timer..... those entities exist and do claim to have propageted life on this earth..... and furthermore Jesus and Michael are getting ready to throw them out of heaven...... and guess where He's going to throw them...... you are totally correct..... BEWARE we'll get to meet them soon....

Attention seeker.... Keep saying that,your country REALLY needs god right now the way things are over there.

I have to say,that is a very fascinating discovery they have made on Titan,but I hardly see the relevance in it towards our own planet(yes I read the full article and looked at the images),how that helps us fix what all that which we have done wrong to it. And that is the world that we should most be focusing on now in the time of troubles...Earth.

God bless us all and keep us safe from evil.

Well, try this out for revelancy....... all my life I have been told that our hydrocarbon energy was created by dead dinosaurs and trees. That it is finite and some day we will run out and it's getting more scarce so the prices are going up and up......

If there is methane on this little moon and there is no life....... where in the world did it come from...... my goodness natural processes can create methane gas (natural gas) without dead things...... could it be that those few people who have been saying that oil and gas is being created within the center of the earth and seeping out to the surface and we are not running out us correct.........

How relevant is that..... further discussion gets directly into conspiracies which are banned here, but think about the possibilities of that being proved.

PARIS, France (Reuters) -- Saturn's moon Titan resembles Earth in many ways but is unlikely to support life, scientists said on Wednesday after almost a year of research into data from the space probe Huygens.

After a seven-year trip from Earth piggy-backed on the Saturn probe Cassini, the European-designed Huygens separated last December and headed for Titan, entering the moon's atmosphere in January this year.

"Huygens descended through a hazy, windy and turbulent atmosphere," Jean-Pierre Lebreton, Huygens mission scientist at the European Space Agency, told a news conference in Paris.

"This revealed an extraordinary world which resembled the Earth in many respects -- but there are also clear differences," he said. "The laws of physics, the laws of chemistry are the same. The ingredients are different."

I find astronomy fascinating, and I am very interested in the topics you post

If scientists wish to search out non-existant lil green men, so be it... all their searching will only provide evidence that life was not created haphazardly by evolution... the heavens declare the majesty of God! Although I may not agree with a lil-green-man-motivation... I am certainly thankful for the resulting technologies and improvements in existing technologies... programmable pacemakers, breast cancer detection, Doppler radar, fire detectors, voice-operated wheelchairs, emergency response robots, self-righting life rafts, intracranial pressure monitor, etc, etc, etc. And now that I think of it... I'm also thankful for Tang... it sustained me during a stay in a third-world country hotel with a very questionable buffet

Well, how else are you suppose to know anything at all unless we actually look and investigate thoroughly? If we never did that we wouldn't know anything.

Man is not meant to know everything,the more we know,the more technology progresses the quicker we are to lose our basic humanity,who we are in Christ.

Technology is evil and it is and always will be a tool for Satan to manipulate us with.

If we knew less and technology would progress slower(and it
