it just really bugs me that all i was doing was sharing something i had learnt just incase it could help someone else. i think some people in here just like to show they know a bit about everything an anything. i am far from on track with god, and would never dare criticise what anyone ever sed about god, just because i may be wrong. not happy with how some people have treated this post at all.

I've never claimed that, I argue against it frequently and openly. If youve seen me state otherwise, please quote it.

Read through it again and noticed I mistook you for Pilgrim 7. I apologize on this one.

I did not state that God would not have the Government give justice. I DID say that God gave the government the authority of justice and that they have the power of leniancy if they see fit. I also stated that the premise of Christs work and ministry abolishing the death penalty is my opinion and gave the reasons why I believe it, I never claimed it was an infallible fact. The reason we didnt get to the bones of Genesis 9 is because you ignored my question as to whether or not you believed the same law applies as part of Mosaic law today (as part of the same line of discussion).

It doesn't matter mate, the fact is that it's a false doctrine. It misrepresents the government and the purpose of it.

I actually said this:

Its not a sin to be a homosexual any more than it is a sin to be a gentile. What IS a sin, is to practice homosexuality and therein lies the great debate. If we make a practise of any sin then we are in direct disobedience to God, be it sex outside marriage, compulsive lying, gambling, idolitry, whatever.

When taken in context I'd hope that reader would be able to perceive the point that having homosexual tendencies is a facet of the sinful nature which is something we all have whether we're gentile (adendem follows) jew, male, female, black, white, young, old, gay, straight etc etc...

I fail to see how the context clears it up any. It still promotes the idea that a person can be a homosexual but not sin unless the act is committed. The desire to sin is just as bad as sinning.

I may well have opinions that differ from yours Kerdos, but your implication is that the majority of readers on Worthy consider my views in particluar to be based on false doctrine, placing yourself as a spokesperson for those people.

Where did I do that? I said you are famous for it, I did not quantify how many believe that.

I'd say again, unless you can prove that I am FAMOUS on worthy for being a peddlar of false doctrine then please post a formal apology. You seem to have taken rather badly to a personal critisism which I made and decided to reduce it to a slagging match.

I didn't decide to reduce it to a slugging match. I actually went on to handle the objections you had. You, instead, chose to get carried away with an opinion that I put forth.

If you feel unable or unwilling to respond to either of my two requests, I shall seek guidance from the admin staff.

Go for it

Dear Hannah,

Thank you for your devotion :)

Don't let anybody put you down because of a arrogant attitude, it stinks and I hope you can ignore it, you know your love for God and that is what counts, He loves you and nobody can take that away....:verkle: Not even people here on this worthy board who think they know it all!

I can see your love for the Lord and wanting to please Him, we all struggle with temptation and many things you wrote are right on!

Hannah I love to see you post again :24:

Love in Christ , Angels :)

Hey, I didn't get called out in Greek class everyday for nothing. :)

As a side note (and this isn't to you Mike, it's in general), I'm getting tired of the, "Oh just ignore the arrogant attitude." I posted it because it needed to be clarified. I don't care if the intention is good, if the information is false (even partially false) then it needs to be pointed out. I mean, gosh, it just might actually help someone.

I, too hope you don't go, I enjoyed your post. Don't be downhearted by a few posters that like to nit pick and go into great detail. You dont need a clever brain to understand the bible, only a willing heart.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;but will with the temptation, also make a way to escape, that ye may be ablr to bear it. Cor.10:13.

Now you don't have to be a Greek scholar to figure that out. If Jesus can be tested or tempted, what chance has mere man to avoid it. Anyone who says satan causes them to be temted is as good as saying Jesus' blood is not sufficient or, maybe your lamps are running out of oil for the lack of maintenance. The only place satan can tempt you is when you are in his territory.

that.s my two bits,

Eric, wouldn't that scripture indicate that God allows temptation to not only occur, but then provides a way out? If temptaiton is something we bring on ourselves as you seem to imply...why would God provide a way out?

It isn't nitpicking, it's actually a big deal. To say that all temptation is our own fault is to also say that Jesus was tempted because of His own inner evil....I'm not nit picking, I'm looking at the broader implications of a belief.

I've got an idea!

How about everyone that wants to argue in this thread simply take their little arguments to the world of PM's to each other so that the original devotion and the clear intention of the OP's words can be discussed.

If there are things wrong with the original devotion posted, I'm pretty sure that by now, the point has been made.

Everything else is quibbling among two or three members about posts they have made in other threads. Either go back to those threads and continue the debates, or continue the tearing of each other's character through the PM system.

Please? :verkle:

Hannah, drive on, my good lady. If there is a lesson to be learned here, then chalk it up to experience and growth, and fire away with all the threads you want to post.

If you would like, you can PM me anytime and I will go over stuff with you if you may be unclear as to it's content or whatever, before you post it. I'm sure your intent was pure, as is your heart. I certainly don't know everything, but I can either help, or find someone willing to help without all the drama.

Keep your head up, your heart soft, and your faith ever stronger! :24:

Many Blessings,

t.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
