God, Himself, wrote the Ten Commandments, with His own finger in tablets of stone, which were placed inside the Ark of The Covenant, in the Holiest Place in the temple - in the very presence of God.

Jesus said, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up...But he spake of the temple of his body." John 2:19-21. Here, Jesus makes the transition from the temple building to the temple of his body.

Later, the Apsotle Paul wrote, "Know ye not that YE are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Jesus left us here as His temple upon earth.

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write in in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:10.

Who is he speaking of? Paul answers, "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made, He saith not, And to thy seeds, as of many: but as of one, And to thy seed which is Christ." Galatians 3:16.

"For he is NOT a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." Romans 2:28,29.

The promises were made through Abraham to the children of promise, who are justified by faith - whether Jew or Gentile.

So, now, we as the body of Christ are His temple. If we are children of the New Covenant, He has written His laws upon our hearts and minds.

Which laws? "And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ARK of his testament..." Revelation 11:19. And which laws were in the ark? The Ten Commandments.

The Scripture tells us that the Ten Commandments are in Heaven. Not nine - ten.

When God finished His great work of Creation, He sealed it by sanctifying and blessing the seventh day, as a monument to His great work. He finished and rested (sat down, if you will). When Jesus bought Creation back, He said, "It is finished!" and sat down at the right hand of God and rested. By faith, we enter into His rest.

The seventh day points to His Lordship, as Creator of all things. God sanctified the seventh day from Creation - before man's sin and long before the law was given.

In the Garden of Eden, God told Adam and Eve that they could eat from every tree in the garden, save one...and what did they do? They heeded Satan, who queried, "Hath God said?" And ever since, men have questioned and challenged God's Word. Adam and Eve chose their own tree, over-ruling God's Word - His authority and Lordship over their lives.

In the fourth commandment, He said, "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy...FOR in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: WHEREFORE (for this reason) the Lord blessed the seventh day and hallowed it."

It's really very simple - the Sabbath day could never be any other day, because it is, inseparably, linked to His Creation work.

We have exchanged God's Word (just like Adam and Eve) for the various traditions of men. He sanctified the seventh day. He, never, sanctified the first day of the week - man did.

We need to surrender our traditions and return to the Word of God, alone (sola scritura), acknowledging His Lordship.

The call of the angel in Revelation, "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgement is come: and worship him, that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water." Revelation 14:7 - Worship our Creator.

Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15.

At the end, we read, "Blessed are they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have RIGHT to the tree of life, and MAY ENTER IN through the gates into the city." Revelation 22:14.

At the very end of the Book of Books, the Apostle John makes a connection between keeping the commandments and entering Heaven.

Ah yes, more nonsense about how we have to keep the Sabbath or else we won't be saved, garbage. Yawn....

Herald,

According to the Lord Jesus and the apostle Paul, how do we keep the commandments, and is it entirely possible to keep each of the statues of both the Law and the commandments individually and as a whole simply by following them to the letter? Also, how does keeping the commandments in this age - the age of grace - differ from that of keeping them in the age of the Law - before Christ?

whats a SDAer, and does it pay well?

I think Ronald was refering to Seventh Day Adventists...

Does it pay well? :24:

um... I don't know how much they pay one that works in the offices(i.e. pastor, deacon.. etc) but I guess it is for you to decide whether you think it pays well to follow the Lord or not.

Seventh Day Adventists basically(from what I know of) believe that the New Testament churches are supposed to keep the Sabbath day which was a commandment given to the Jews, not Gentiles. Every commandment is reinstated numerous times in the New Testament, except for the Sabbath day because, once again, the Sabbath day(as point out by beasutifully by herold) is a day of rest ordained by the Lord in the old Testament :24:

This subject has become such a digagreement.. honestly, I think it is ridiculous.

I'm sorry.. I think I left out the main reason for Seventh Day Adventists. SDA's believe that the Sabbath day should be on Saturday(seventh day of the week) and not on Sunday. It is a big misconception that the Sabbath day was moved to Sunday because of culture or whatever. New Testament Churches do no recognize the Sabbath. We meet on Sunday because that is when the Lord rose from the dead(first day of the week), it was on teh first day of the week that Jesus met with the disciples, it was on the first day of the week that Paul met with teh early churches :) Hence the reason we go to church on Sunday :24:

Sorry.. I don't know much else about this topic and definitly not able to go into a full-fledge debate over it.

As for your question.. not sure... was that sarcasm or were you serious? :)

ahhh, ya I just didnt recognize the acrynome.

For the sabbith tihng, read romans. Paul speaks about our freedom as Christians. We are no longer bound by any of the law. You can honor a day above others for the lord, or honor all days equally. Actually, reading romans would clear up alot of things for 7th day adventists. We are not bound by mans or the Jewish laws as Christians. Saying our actions dictate our salvation is a gross lie and goes against the heart of what Jesus preached.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
