Thank you for your honest questions. I only know that we as Christians are to follow what God says in His world. We like God are to love the sinner but hate the sin. You brought up homosexuality, God calls it an abomination to Him. There is scripture after scripture stating that the life style of homosexuals are wrong. I pray you fine your answers here and maybe even find your way to Christ. He has so much more to offer you. He loves as you are and accepts you where you are. Satan only wants more from you and nothing you do will ever please him. Your safe in God's hands and Heaven according to His word is a wonderful place. I pray you will have a change of heart. Please keep seeking.

Why do christians attempt to save people, when they themselves cannot prove they are saved?

We are told to spread the gospel. We are not told to prove our salvation individually to others. For our salvation, we have His promises, that we are sealed in the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.

Why is satan blamed for everything? We as people choose to do the wrongs, not satan. shouldn't we blame ourselves and learn from our mistakes?

I take responsibility for my sins. Yet I know satan is in this world and we fight a spiritual battle too. As far as learning from my mistakes? I hope to learn the lessons God has for me and quickly. I hope to learn to turn from my sins and try not to mess up too much. The more I let the Lord guide me, then the less likely the chances of making a mistake to begin with.

Why is it god, being love casts people to hell and satan being of evil does not?

Our sin condemns us. Hell was created for the fallen angels, not for man. But since mankind is obstinate, willful and sinful....our sins condemn us.

The bigger question is why a righteous God would love such creatures as us, love us enough to send Jesus to die for our sins. To pay the penalty Himself so that we dont have to. WOW.

why is there no new testament accounts of jesus (being god) harming or condeming anyone? to hell?

Scripture says it better than me.

John 3

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.

18 He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil.

And yet, dont forget that Jesus did speak out against sin. Jesus was quite vocal to the Pharisees about their sins. He overturned the moneychangers tables in the temple. He spoke out about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. He called Pharisees vipers. He spoke about torment in hell for the unrepentent sinners. He had mercy and compassion yes, but it seems like He was rather quick to condemn sin too.

Nicholae,

My name actually is Nikolai, and I'm from Europe. I hear that makes me a strong contender for anti-christ. Hope not!

Anyway. You asked 4 questions. The answer to questions 1, 2, and 4, about homosexuals, non-believers and Pat Robertson is:

Because a lot of so-called Christians aren't actually very nice people

My advice is, don't judge this religion by it's followers, or else you'll end up judging it very harshly. If anything, Christians have done much more to put me off Christianity than they've ever done to attract me. They continue to annoy me - opposing homosexual civil-rights (as you pointed out) - discriminating against non-believers - and agreeing with anything Pat Robertson says (he's a nutcase). I actually said the very same thing on my blog recently - in a post called "The darker side of magic" - go read it. So basically, we're not all like that - judge Christianity by Christ, not by Christians.

Your third question is more interesting - about Satan. Why do people hate him, and is God responsible for everything that goes on here on Earth? Well, the answer to the latter question is "no" - God is not in total control of what goes on - he is not in control of our own actions, for example. He has delegated this authority to us - we are sovereign over what we do, and have to take responsibility for that. The reason the world is in such a state is that we've decided to listen to Satan, and God being a gentleman hasn't intervened to stop up - he's let us make our own decisions about things.

Satan is the enemy of God, and he hates God's plan for the world. God's plan is that we are happy and sanctified and blessed in His holy light - and that we worship Him. Lucifer doesn't want us worshipping God because he despises God, and wants us to worship him instead. This will lead to our destruction, but Satan doesn't care about that. To save us from destruction, God sent down his only begotten son Jesus to die on the cross in our place - the ultimate act of love and sacrifice for us. Satan doesn't want you to know that - or be grateful for that - because then you might see how loving God really is, and how great His plan for you is. Satan never sacrificed himself, or anyone dear to him, because he doesn't love us, he only loves himself.

So basically, God wants you as part of his family, but he's not going to force you. You can get yourself into all kinds of trouble, you can kill people and watch them be killed - God isn't going to intervene or force you to turn to Him. However, there's an open invitation for you to do so. It won't be easy, because you'll have to reject many of the things you did before that were bad - but ultimately it will lead to eternal grace, forgiveness and happiness in God's kingdom. The choice is yours - but please know that Satan has already lost - Jesus' sacrifice on the cross means that we be one with God again, and know His grace.

Anyway, it's a big choice, if you need any more information or just a chat, feel free to get in touch.

Best,

Nik

Very true.

There have certainly been many things done in the name of Christianity over the centuries however, I think that bad people just manipulated the Word to further their own agenda - not the agenda of Christ.

Example: When Jesus said, "Go into the world and preach the Gospel" he didn't say, masacre the native peoples and take over their lands. There were many good missionaries following his Word, spreading Christ's love to the native peoples, and there we also many others with no respect for people or their land who had an agenda to make the new lands their own and they probably did use the Bible to further their plans.

On another note, check out persecution.org. Many of the really good-hearted Christians have been masacred over the many centuries since Christ and it is still happening today. Christians were the ones who set up hospitals and are very largely responsible for feeding the hungry all over the world. I've met many Christians who are warm, loving and Christ-like and I've also met a few who had some real issues about judgment and self-righteousness etc. But as Bread of Life has said, Christ should be our example, not Christians because all Christians, being human, will fail at some point.

Also, I want to ask why you allow people such as Pat Robertson to speak on your behalf? As an outsider, it is making your religion look bad. I think a large group of you should send him letters telling him to stop speaking for you and making you look bad.

I agree.

I don't actually think there are a whole lot of Christians who do follow Pat Robertson. None that I know of anyway. I think the media is the one who's chosen Pat Robertson to make us all look like a bunch of fools. Anything stupid he says, goes into print immediately, which leads non believers to think that we all agree with him.

Thanks NEB....also for the kind words. It's nice to fellowship with you again. *grin*

Nic (London), since my post I've been contacted by enough people who had made it clear to me about your salvation prior to you posting your response to my "curious george" question! :24:

Your blog and bio had me a little in the dark, but I trust the "council" of those who contacted me. It's nice to know we're side by side in our ambassadorship representing the KING. If there is ever anything I can help you with please feel free to contact me. If not here in this life, well heck Nic.....we've got all eternity to rap with one another! :21:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
