You know Matt, I've found it rather interesting how you've avoided my question. Is that because you don't have an answer for me? A bit baffling, isn't it to say the least. However, don't worry. Every atheist I've asked that question hasn't been able to return an answer of substance to me. And that's basically because once you do some strong background research on the historical facts surrounding JESUS CHRIST, you'll find the evidence weighs VERY STRONGLY in HIS favor...that is, in being WHO HE claimed to be.

I figured you wouldn't be able to respond, so by not doing so my friend, you already given me your answer - you don't know. Thanks anyway Matt!:24:

Actually I got lost in another thread and was busy through-out the day in my life......

I do know, but your patronizing makes me not care...

Thanks anyway for accusing.;) Boost the ego a bit doesn't it? Good for you....good for you.....

Hi Matt,

Although you probably don't wish for it, I will be praying for you anyway :24:

Matt listen.....it's NOT about me or you. The truth is about fact finding. It's not about my or your ego, instead it's about caring for someone's eternal soul. I'm NOT some eternal guardian of GOD's Word. Simply put Matt, I am a layman who has a responsibility passed on to me to share the truths of the Gospel with those willing to hear the "call" of the HOLY SPIRIT reaching out to their heart.

No, it's not about ego, because if you really knew me you wouldn't think/say that. I believe in stimulating the mind for sincere constructive discussion. The learning scale should have balance to it. Learn BOTH sides of an issue, and then check it out. I'm not here to throw knives at you personally, anymore than I would with others here, and I've been here a lot longer than you (a former Board MOD). So I have a pretty good idea how these forums operate.

I know this much my friend....you're here because you are seeking something (and that's a good thing). You have been in my prayers since we started to dialogue the other day. GOD has something good planned for you Matt, and HE's reaching out to you now. Whether or not you and I continue to converse doesn't change the fact that you are and will continue to be on my prayer list. And the fact is I plan on seeing YOU when I get to Heaven, my friend. Reading some of your posts on other threads I see you have a very good mind. Use it wisely! :24:

Hmmm. Where are you convinced 'science contradicts the Bible?' If science has 'only theory'--be it ever so refined a theory--then science cannot, in the strictest sense 'contradict' anything! It might 'conflict,' but you put a greater load of meaning into it than the word 'theory' itself can bear. This might prove an interesting direction for conversation, my boy, I'm very pleased you brought it up!

:mgfrog: The games sceptics play. . . .

Considering that you had the time to respond very well to other people's posts, and then instead of answering the question went on the attack when confronted on this -

It makes the casual observer believe that indeed you do not have an answer to this.

Thanks for boosting my faith that even historians are left with no alternative but that Jesus rose from the dead! :)

Science is ever-changing.

Case in point, recent findings are suggesting the current model we have for solar system formation may be all wrong.

It's fun to adventure and puzzle, but to rely one's life upon itisl ike building a home on earthquake-prone ground.

What if the Bible is wrong and it's your cornerstone? Science is making gains, you do drive a CONSISTENT car right?

To base someone's life off a 2000 year old book is nothing to brag about to me. You kind of slap everyone and tell them they aren't making any progress in this or that field. Like modern day philosophers should just shut-up and go home.

Actually science - archeology especially - continues to prove the veracity of the Bible.

So how is your link anymore convincing than answersingenesis, for example?

see Matt? I'm not the only one whp expect to see you in heaven, I'm still convinced that you are NOT a Atheist, you might tell yourself for the time being that you are.

Don't ask how I how--we see, the Lord has something in mind for you, you might rebel against Him but I know He's trying to get your attention, what does He have to do to get it from you??

Jesus cares for you and I do too, Angels :mgfrog:

Ok, let's convolute the issue. I don't go somewhere on Sundays and have my ego stroked, that's the difference. I don't go to boards where I'm in good company, there's another. I go out and spread what I know being a former Christian. I know there are hardheads on both sides, that's honestly one of the least original things I've ever heard.

So what should we do with your post? Take it that we can't ever think outside of ourselves and die that way? I know better. :mgfrog:

matt

Which is more limited, accepting the truth of the existence of God and spending one's life in pursuit of the divine, or limiting one's own scope of knowledg and understanding to a world that's going to burn in the end anyway?

I'm a former atheist, by the way, so don't bother trying to tell me how ignorant I am. I spent the better part of 20 years trying to fill myself with knowledge, science, and various other things in the attempt at stroking an ego that could never be satisfied.

Christianity is far from an ego stroke, my friend. In fact, it's brough my pride down to a level that I could never have understood while I was an atheist, and caused me to pursue something that is far greater than myself. That is why I go to church on Sundays, and that is why I have been on Worthy for the past 3 years.

You find something wrong with the pursuit of the divine?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
