There is plenty of evidence of genetic links. I am a Biologist and regularly read on the topic.

I really don't think a few people being given equal rights will cause the collapse of society. In fact to suggest as much is ridiculous. I remember when the UK government relaxed the alcohol laws, conservatives predicted moral decay, debauchery, chaos on the streets. In actual fact there was considerably less problems. This is off the point I know, but overreaction about moral decay etc. are so over stated. There are bigger issues that trying to ruin the lives of (edited by moderator)

Trever, most of my family is in medicine with strong backgrounds in graduate studies in biology and chemisty. They will be the first to tell you that there is NO evidence to support your theory of "genetic links".

Homosexuality is a choice and any recovered homosexual will confirm. It was a choice... a wrong choice and an unhealthy choice physically and spiritually. Often it was the result of being sexually assauted as a child, rejected by the opposite sex, or a confused upbringing as a child. Sometimes, it was a choice to just rebel against society in general and embrace the pop culture of today. Regardless of the reason, it is nothing more than a deception and I for one am tired of the pop culture of our day making it seem "normal". It is not "normal"; it is wrong.

As the hand of God wrote on the wall for King Belshazzar, the same message applies to all who embrace and condone homosexuality as normal and acceptable... Mene , Mene , Tekel , Parsin.

We now understand a lot more about homosexuality than at any point in history, and we have accordingly altered our legal systems. Homosexuality is also prevalent in nature. Is it right to persecute homos and give them less rights? Really, is it? Gay marriage is a simple problem really; if you find gay marriage immoral then don't enter into one. If you are gay and want equal legal standing for a long term loving relationship then by all means enter into one.

Because they require us to change who we are in our sinful nature.

I'm calling "BS" on the "I'm a biologist." Any true biologist would admit there is no evidence for homosexuality as there has never been an article conclusively proving so. It is a theory in the philisophical realm (nature vs. nuture), not scientific evidence. In fact, if nature did in fact cause homosexuality, the entire psychological community would be shaken to the ground.

Trever is attempting to refer to the 1993 study where a researcher claimed to have discovered a gay gene. However it was later discovered that the researcher himself was a homosexual and that he altered and falsified his research. Hundreds of millions of dollars has been spent in unsuccessful attempts to conferm his claim.

I will never accept homosexual behavior just as I will never accept the behaviors and acts of Murder, lying, thievery, adultry, ect. Who am I to say that somthing is OK when God clearly said that it Isnt. The acceptance of homosexual behavior is another step in the moral decline of society. Great civilizations in the past have made the same step and all have fallen as a result. My children will always be taught that Homosexuality is wrong and acceptance is Never a option.

Sorry, I don't agree. I know the same thing now about homosexuality that I've known all along. I have not been ahem "enlightened" by society. Or, what is that word they use? Educated.

Indeed, EDUCATED. It is what we do when we get new information; we modify and update our worldview. It gives us wonderful freedom to live fulfilled lives.

When a nation formed under God as our was, when corruption is allowed to enter in such as gay marriage, something is totally against God's word the fabric of our nation will unravel. We need to not let that happen. We as a nation need to get back to what the bible says, honor it, and more important it's Author. We need to elect Godly people in high offices. It seems simple but some Christians just don't get it. They elect liberals and they when our very nation begins to fall apart they wonder why. It's just too sad.

For a person to truely understand why Homosexual marriage, and homosexuality in general is wrong, they must have some understanding of God. I might also point out here that not only does Christianity call homosexuality sinful, Islam has no tolerance for homosexuality. As do Hindus, Jews, and Buddhist. As we get away from God and his teachings, we quickly become numb to sin and anything goes. This is why homosexuality is flourishing in parts of the world where religion has gone by the wayside. Do you see many homosexual activist within muslim countries. Nope, the would be put to death instantly. Not that I agree with Islam by any stretch, but I wanted to show the correlation of religion with regards to open homosexuality. Europe is a great example of this. Christianity has been decline throughout western Europe and hedinism is on the rise. Look at the United States, orgainzed religion has been in a decline for sometime. Now children don't go to church on sunday, they stay home and watch MTV which glorifies homosexuality as well as pre marital sex. It is very easy to see why people are so confused on this matter. If we are not guided by a higher power, we are left to our sinful nature and then of course we are going to say, "hey whats wrong with two men having sex?" Then the next step is, "hey whats wrong with two men getting married. And why can't they adopt children." Very sad state we are in.

For the purpose of debating the LEGALITY of homosexual marriage, I will ask a simple question; where in the Constitution are we permitted to give special contracts that involve a binding of assets and interests to heterosexual, consenual adults, but forbid them to homosexuals?

How can you be a gay Christian for life? Homosexuality is a sin just like any other sin. I am ashamed of my sins and I wish that I would quit doing them. I just want to be pleasing to God. If I found out that my pastor was addicted to porn or even worse a pedophile. I seriously would not want him to be my pastor. What I am saying is that being a sinner is nothing to be proud of. ( John 3:3 ) Jesus declared," I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is Born again." God loves the sinner but hates the sins that all humans commit. Trust God to change your life by the power of the Holy Spirit. Trust what he says in the Holy Bible also. Homosexuality is a sin and is nothing to be proud of.
