QUOTE(Hani_ @ Feb 10 2006, 04:32 AM)

actually thats one of the things that puzzles me ....

we muslims dont deny that jesus peace on him was the real messiah

Here is your problem, Hani. You have a logical contradiction.

On the one hand you claim that the gospels are not written true, you seek to discredit them and claim that they were made up by people and were not authored by the disciples.

You claim the Bible is a corrupt book. So, then how can you claim that Jesus is the "real Messiah?" You cannot claim that the Bible is corrupt and then claim that you agree with the Bible's assertion that Jesus is the Messiah. If the Bible is as corrupt as you say, how then can you trust its assertion that Jesus is the Messiah??

Here is another problem that you face. "Messiah" is a Jewish concept. It comes from the Hebrew "Moschiach." What is the "real Messiah?" Jesus, according to you then, is the Messiah, or The "Anointed" of God. What precisely was Jesus "annointed" to do???

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

(Isaiah 61:1-3)

Jesus cannot be both just a good prophet and Messiah. Messiah (with a big M) is a Divine title. It can only be ascribed to THE Savior.

Also, if you claim that Jesus is a prophet, how can that be if the gospels are not reliable??? How could Jesus be trusted as a prophet since the ONLY words we have of his, are contained in manuscripts that YOU say are corrupt???

If you claim that Jesus is a prophet, then you have to agree with him that his words are true. If you really considered Him a prophet you would believe what He says. As it is, you are on a fool's errand to discredit the words of Jesus. You really don't know what you are talking about. You are liar if you claim that you believe his either prophet or Messiah.

All you succeed in doing is showing the foolishness of Islam. No thinking person can accept anything you are trying to teach.

I have been following these recent threads of Hani's, and I felt I had to offer my first post to this thread. I just wanted to encourage all my brothers and sisters here in these threads. You are doing a wonderful job of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and according to 2 Corinthians 10:5 you are also demolishing arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God! I praise God for the seekers here on these boards!! I have been reading now for several months, and have grown because of the info here I'm sure.

Hani continues to offer very little in the way of an intelligent, respectful debate. But nevertheless, his errors are clearly seen by anyone who is reading with an open mind. If one is to come to this board as a radical, not wanting to do anything short of proselytize for their religion, then there will be no changing their views. As is the case with Hani, i see very little chance that he will walk away from these boards any closer to the One True God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. However, i pray that others who are caught up in this false religion will see the arguments, and weigh them carefully, and be drawn by God in the truths therein.

To Hani I do have one question. Why do you insist on trying to prove the fundamental doctrines of Christianity are wrong, instead of asking why we believe what we do and looking at the scriptures we rely on to verify if our claims are indeed true. It's like me going to an Islamic message board and trying to convince them that their teachings are inacurate according to their own writings. Now, if you come here and simply argue something opposing to our doctrines, based upon your own, then that would lead to a friendlier debate. But insisting that our fundamental views are full of errors, doctrines that we as a church have held for 2000 years, that's just plain upsetting. Hence the reason why you are not being taken as a friendly opponent, and are stirring a bit of anger. We have debates even within our own church as to the teaching of certain non-essential to salvation doctrines, but never argue on the Divinity of Jesus, his crucifixion, or His resurrection. Why? Because it is all too obvious. There is no argument to be made. If there was, I'm sure christians would be arguing it today. I truly hope you do see the truth in what is being shown to you here, but if not, then may God lead you to a place in life where you are brought naked, face to face, with His eternal Word, namely Jesus Christ. Then you will see clearly, and it will simply be a matter of saying, my Lord and my God.

Hani, why do you ignore the questions asked of you?

Because he has no answer.

His arguements are based on what he has been told to believe instead of what the scriptures actually say. He is afraid to open his eyes.

Hani, it boils down to this....and your soul depends on knowing The Truth

Yeshua is either who He says He is or a fool that died needlessly

So He can't be "only" a Prophet although He was at least that.

He can't be "only" a man though He was at least that.

Know that God has not rejected you but you are rejecting Him. There is a lake of fire reserved for those who make that choice. Please reconsider your fate.

Salaam alekim

There is also one other thing to consider.....if Hani gives his life to Jesus and go's back to his muslem brothers and tells them, it could mean his death.

Many ex muslims who have beleived on the name of Jesus, have lost their lives but have gained their souls.

Hani, if you give your life to Jesus you will be persecuted but "this present suffering is not worth comparing to our future glory"

Many of us here are praying and will continue to pray for you that God will remove the blinders and cause you to see the truth.

In his love,

Brian

I am closing this thread. Basically Hani was not here to learn, but to spread Islamic propoganda. Hopefully everyone observed how when Hani was confronted by truth, He refused to address it. Rather, He would simply repeat what He had been taught. Our hope as moderators was that Hani would be exposed to the truth of the gospel, and see some of the inconsistencies of his religion. We did not see that happening. We can rest assured though in the promise that God's Word always achieves its eternal purposes. The best we can do for Hani is to pray for him.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
