Hello everyone,

Once again, this is something that has risen from my public high school. No, praise the Lord, it is not from Comparative Religions class as that was only a semester course!!!

Anyways, within the walls of the program I am in)International Baccalaurette/IB), they are trying to enforce this thing called "Tolerance" for others in the areas of race/ethnicity, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation, etc. They are even planning on do a "Tolerance Workshop" at the end of this year becuase of the intolerance of students(at our school) within the IB Program.

I am wondering what everyone's views are on this matter...

With great confusion,

Crystal

being tolerant of a person is ok, but not of their life style....

we are to love the people, the children, but WE DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT THEIR WAYS..........

they want it so we can not even voice our beliefs or ways, but yet they want us to accept and condone their beliefs and ways....

my say in this is

NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hang in there. Sad to say, multiculturalism is here to say. All you have to do is "tolerate" it.

Are you people serious? Anyone heard of Nazi Germany? Multiculturalism is nothing but fantastic. I find these views disturbing.

It depends what is meant by tolerance.

In general true tolerance is a very good thing. But there is a difference between tolerance and acceptance. Unfortunately they often don't really mean tolerance, what they really mean is following our specific agenda of beliefs, and anyone who deviates from this specific agenda of beliefs is intolerant. It is simply another social engineering program with a specific outcome in mind, and if you deviate from this outcome you are intolerant.

In general you will get nowhere challenging these PROGROMS in the Higher Ed setting. I would seek a specific definition of tolerance though, just for your own edification. In the end no doubt they will sit around and talk about the intolerant Christians because of our religious beliefs found in the bible, and it will of course degenerate into a discussion about the need for Christians to give up our own beliefs about sexual purity, it is part of a long term agenda. But as long as we are aware we can at least know when we are being played.

In my opinion though, being "tolerant" of culture does not involve as much as the world wants us to say- I can tolerate a culture (such as, a lifestyle from a different region of the world, or country), but this does not mean that I have to "tolerate" the things that they do which are against the Bible. It doesn't matter whether it's "cultural" or not- certain things are always wrong- like sexual immorality.

Also, we do have way too much "tolerance" speech... and the most ridiculous part of it is, they merely want to "tolerate" everyone BUT those who are followers of Christ.

Public institutions have the "love thy neighbor" part right (though not stated in those biblical terms). But they are teaching a step beyond loving, and are pushing for acceptance of behaviors we know to be sinful.

If tolerance means living in peace with everybody, then Christians have a direct command from the bible to do so. We must tolerate everybody; we must love everybody, regardless of what they do who they are, or what they believe.

However if tolerance means that we cannot preach the Word of God, that we cannot point out sin, then our own beliefs are what are not being tolerated, and that is the bottom line. The agenda is to force Christians to change what we preach, believe and say, that is the agenda, and that is what much of these tolerance programs are really about (although not always, some are indeed very good and needed).

For example I do not accept abortion, it is killing a child, I do not accept sex outside of marriage between a man and a women, it is sin, for these reasons alone I will always be called intolerant homophobic and anti-feminist, so it goes. The plan is not really to teach us to tolerate others outside of the faith; the plan is to meddle in our faith and our beliefs.

Mat 5:43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Romans 12:9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

In other words......love all people and hate all sin :emot-partyblower:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
