Thank you Jade and thank you precious people.... I am looking for a certain verse in the Bible, I remember reading it years ago, this is not verbatim, but close to it...

[ When the young die it for a reason because they are being protected from something worse in the future]

I would appreciate any thoughts on this... I believe it was in the OT, not in a story of someone's life, so perhaps the psalms, I don't know, but I really do need this certain verse.

Thank you in advance,

Sue

Hello Sue,

I am pretty familiar with the Bible, but cannot think of any verse that says that. There are scriptures like the one in Ecclesiates 3:2 "A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;" or Ecclesiastes 7:1 "A GOOD name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth."

What I think is happening is you are likely remembering something someone said in a sermon or at a funeral or while giving comfort to someone that lost a child. I have heard people in the past speculate about things like that. They would say something like, "I do not understand why God would take your child, but we know he knows best. Perhaps he is sparing them from something bad in the future.

I even once remember Jimmy Swaggart speaking of the conversion of one of his relatives. He said that he knew that this person, because of the bad influences around him, wouldn't be strong enough to remain in the faith, so God took him on shortly after he got saved, as an act of mercy.

As I said, I cannot think of any particular scripture that makes that claim, and my wife couldn't think of any either. Perhaps if you could think of something else about the passage it came from it might jog my memory.

I am sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I think it was likely a message you heard rather than a scripture you read.

Thank you so much for your reply Butero and I value your thoughts so much. I know that I read it and I underlined it, then wrote in the margin of the Bible " Good to share with someone that has lost a child" This was 20 years ago, it was not a King James Bible. I no longer have that Bible, and the wording I gave above is the essence of this particular scripture I'm searching for from my rememberence in that contemporary Bible Version.... with so many different versions, it's difficult and perhaps with this version it wrote it so much differently... I do know I read it, it was in an easy to read version, and I would like to locate this verse.

Thanks so much again, and hugs in Christ

Sue

Ecclesiates 3 is filled with "time" points.

For a good site to search the scriptures on-line check this out.

The only verse I can think of is in Hebrews 11, after listing all the martyrs, the writer says they died because "the world was not worthy of them." (Heb. 11:37, 38).

A BIG thank you and a God bless you all for reading, searching, and for your replies.... My mom FOUND the scripture for me, and I see why you all could not because I said "young" and that I thought it wasn't from a "story" in the Bible. Forgive me for not giving adequate information.

The verses are Isaiah 57: 1 & 2

NKJ:

1) The righteous perishes,

And no man takes it to heart;

Merciful men are taken away,

While no one considers

That the righteous is taken away from evil.

2) He shall enter into peace;

They shall rest in their beds,

Each one walking in his uprightness.

Darby:

1)The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from before the evil.

2) He entereth into peace: they rest in their beds, [each one] that hath walked in his uprightness.

I am sure there are many theological meanings to these verse in context of the chapter, but I was only looking for those verses, thank you once again!

God's Best to all of you!

If you go to "My Controls at the top right, there is a place you can copy and paste things. I'm doing that right now.

Thanks for that piece of scripture. :th_praying:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
