Another indication of this day and age we're living is being likened to the days of Noah is that the movement of world history today seems to be less under the control of individual political leaders than of the mass movements of nationalism, ethnic consciousness, labor, and consumer activity.  I told one friend that we don't want to make the mistake of imagining that, because we have had a sharp increase in the world's population in recent years, this is proof in itself that the LORD's return is imminent.  My friend was locked into this belief.

WE are to look for trends in the history of our time that may be leading up to HIS return, NOT for events that foretell it precisely.  In addition to population increases the days of Noah were also characterized by an unprecedented accumulation of knowledge.  Genesis 4 speaks of the construction of  cities, of developments in metallurgy, the arts, and other sciences.  This knowledge contributed to a great indulgence in luxury, as it has for many here in our own day.  It was not to the moral advantage of the age.  Just think, if we are to judge the size of the ark itself, about 450 feet long with a beam of 75 feet, the size of many modern ocean liners, there was also considerable engineering knowledge and skill, coupled with an ability to construct the objects designed.  We modern day earthdwellers aren't as smart only as we may think we are....different time, different place, SAME results (Jeremiah 17:9).

So true Wisdom! The knowledge explosion is a key event. Look at where we were 50 years ago. We're growing technologically at an alarming rate. Given our present growth, imagine where we could be in say, 150 years! Even a mere 50 from now!

:inlove:  What exciting times we live in...!

Society is always a representation of what is going on in the spiritual realm. Everytime Israel fell into heavy "other god" worship they were sent out to captivity...

If sin and corruption abound don't that mean that our Lord is allowing it to bring about these last days? I think so...

The days of Noah were physical and spiritual manifestations of evil.... Sons of God, corrupt secret knowledge, anything to invoke power which the fallen angels are always more than happy to ablige..... Nimrod did it later.. It has cropped up ever so often... this generation will finish it.

Blessings... :noidea:

You're both right Karen and traveller... now throw in the computer/internet with all you both just posted!  You can see why mankind worships the "god" of science, instead of the CREATOR of the heavens!!

How about the crime rate?  What do you think about that in comparison to the days of Noah??

Wisdom,

I don't know about that, the ways they committed all those crimes is different today, but they were pretty bad then too.

In a way we can compare, but these these they can kill more people in one time then they could then.

Traveler, I was thinking this afternoon about your name and figured out already why your name is Traveler ,I like it!!

And I don't think I would feel very good when the rapture comes and my loved ones are staying behind, but maybe we don't know that, because when the rapture happens will we realize that not everybody is going up to meet the Lord? I think we will be too exited because we are going to see Jesus face to face that we forget everything around us!!

Are you on the gospeltrain?? Do you know that song??

Love in Christ, Angels

Good point sis, but I also am taking a close look at Genesis 6:5-7, 11-12.  It must have been awfully bad down here on planet Earth for our FATHER to make those statements because if you'll check throughout HIS Word, from Genesis to Revelations there is no other time  HE sounded like this.  Even during the Great Tribulation in Revelation HE doesn't sound like this.

Please do understand though that I'm not disagreeing with your post.  You're right.  The methods used in comparison to then are mind boggling.  But in Noah's days such wickedness was the cause of the great judgement that befell the earth and was the primary basis for CHRIST's warning that the conditions of Noah's day would be repeated.  This was a world characterized by crime....just like today!  The large growth of permissiveness and disrespect for the law is incredible...both in the blue and white collar crime categories.  What's even more sad is how these trends have affected even the police, as various "crime probes" have indicated.

Among the forerunners in open defiance of laws that they consider unjust have been clergymen; there is no lack of others to follow or excel their example.  How about the increase in sexual perversions and crimes?  This too is reflected in our society.  Again though, as I mentioned in an earlier post we dare not make the error of arguing that because these crimes and perversions are appearing to such alarming degrees in our age and society, therefore, the coming of JESUS CHRIST must occur immediately.  We have no warrant for that.  Nevertheless, we must ask:  Are the alarming moral and economic conditions of our age (in comparison to Noah's day) not more than adequate fulfillment of the conditions that JESUS taught must prevail before HIS return?

Are not our days equal in their vice to the days of Noah?  Are they not equally lawless?? If they are, then we dare not imagine that CHRIST cannot or will not appear.  Nor dare we neglect HIS warning: "Watch, therefore; for ye know not what hour your LORD doth come" (Matthew 24:42).

Thoughts?

Dear Wisdom,

I would only add that also in the study I mentioned earlier in this thread, the circumstances in which the judgment that came upon Sodom and Gomorrah to me, were very similar to today, in regard to the aggression of the men who were determined to have sex with other men, (or angels in this case), but the picture to me of them trying to force their way in to have their way, was very symbolic of these times today.  I've always heard that the last stage of rebellion in the Scriptures was depicted by homosexuality and sexual perversion, as it was in the days of Lot.  I see the comparisons very striking, in that there was such boldness, in the perversion, that it was not even hidden from the righteous anymore, but it was agressively promoted to the point of trying to come into Lot's home. As it is now.

In His Truth,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
