Atheists hiding DVD copies of anti-Jesus film in churches

A media company that produced a best-selling documentary asserting that Jesus Christ never existed today launches its "War on Easter," encouraging volunteer atheists to plant copies of the film "The God Who Wasn't There" in churches across the United States.

Dubbing the effort "Operation Easter Sanity," Brian Flemming, a self-described "former Christian fundamentalist" and president of Beyond Belief Media, hopes to covertly place 666 copies of the documentary in churches by Easter Sunday, April 16. The number 666 is the biblical mark of "The Beast," which also is the name of another film by Flemming set for a 06-06-06 release.

"People go to churches to hide from the truth," Flemming said in a statement. "At no time is this more apparent than Easter, when Christians get together to convince each other that a man died, stayed dead three days, rose from the dead and then flew into the air above the clouds.

"Our nonviolent campaign sends the message that nowhere in the country is safe from the truth. Wherever Christian leaders are indoctrinating children with 2,000-year-old fairy tales, the truth may just find its way there."

Continued the former Christian: "Our 'War on Easter' is of course completely without violence of any kind. Christians believe that beating a man to a pulp and nailing him to a cross somehow solves all the world's problems. Beyond Belief Media does not."

"The God Who Wasn't There" is currently No. 5 on Amazon.com's list of best-selling documentaries.

Fleming claims to have planted copies of the DVD at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic cathedral in Los Angeles Sunday morning.

"I put the DVDs in my right inside jacket pocket," he explained on the War on Easter website. "It was a gorgeous Palm Sunday. The kind of day that makes you want to ride on a donkey and get hit with palm fronds.

How exactly is that supposed to work? I don't think that I could quit being a Christian if I wanted to. The Holy Spirit convicts me of the truth. How could a video make me not believe in God? Greater is He that is in me than the one who is in the world.

It does not seem to occur to people who do such acts against Christ and Christians that what is it in them that makes them do such things? I mean you don't see them doing this to other religions. You don't see people cursing with the name of bhudda, do we?

If I found something as what they are doing, I would just throw it in the trash.

Thing is I wonder if there instigators are sitting through the service? n

For the true born again christian, to find those dvds, it wouldnt bother them because they have the Holy Spirit

living in them to show them different. For a lost person to come to church and find one of them, it could be tragic.

if it was just a case of these people not having heard the call of the holy spirit, or just of their refusing to believe, that is one thing. but, these type of actions show me (and i'm sure alot of others) that evil is the true motivator behind a program like that. evil promoted from a certain source. these types of people accuse we christians of having been indoctrinated at young ages, which is wrong in my case and many others i know of, but they would be horrified to know they are being used by ,(for lack of a better term) the dark side. satan, whom i wonder if in their atheistic views if they acknowledge his existance. this individual certainly was not listening in the church he claims he was raised in. something happened for him to come away hating God because of that church or someone in it.

Well, perhaps if they are in Church the Holy Spirit may just find them..

not that being in Church is the only place the Holy Spirit is but "where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name"..

It is possible one of their hearts were turned..

and another point...rust never sleeps..it MUST continue to corrupt...

Oh this gets in my craw. Brian Flemming has been a seed sown amongst the thorns and hasn't had the strength to remove those thorns. It REALLY gets to me when I see people GIVING UP on Jesus. So they have tough times, so they loose a few of their own 'treasures'. I can't STAND seeing people who have given up, set on the path to make others as low as they have become. Rot, that's what it is. Brian Flemming gave rot access to his heart and now he's bearing the results. This man needs prayer and fast!
