If as a daughter, If I turn my back on my earthly father- after giving me precious promises- and I walk away from him for years living my own life and not living under his care and direction-Should I expect to receive Inheritance- No the children that are faithful tend to get

the Inheritance. What would happen if I returned home-if I repented he would permit me to have relationship with him. If I continued in my way-he may tell me to depart for I never knew you-for in the past he tried and my decisions to live as I have doesn't allow for a

relationship. relationship-is a two way situation.

With heavenly Father, we are given a choice in this life. Life or death. We must be born again to save us from the penalty of sin which is death. He is still gracious enough to give

us a choice. Once saved, if we turn back to our old ways-we must repent and return.

Luke 15:1-32 STORY OF THE LOST SON

Jesus told them this story" "A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, "I want my share of your estate now, instead of waiting until you die." So his father agreed to divid his weath between his sons.

A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and took a trip to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money on wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him to feed his pigs. The boy became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.

When he finally came to his senses he said to himself, "At home even the hired men have food enough to spare, and here I am, dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, "Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired man."

So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long distance away, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, "Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son."

But his father said to the servants, Quick! bring me the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger, and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening in the pen. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found." So the party began.

Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, and he asked one of the servants what was going on. Your brother is back, he was told, and your father has killed the calf we were fattening and has prepared a great feast. We are celebrating because of his safe return."

The older brother was angry and wouldn't go in. His father came out and begged him, but he replied, "All these years I've worked hard for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all theat time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends. Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the finest calf we have.

His father said to him, "Look, dear son, you and I are very close, and everything I have is yours. We have to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was Lost, but now he is found!"

It's not hard- Just like the Lost Son, we repent from our sins and move on with our life.

We make our choice daily!!!

Comparing our heavenly Father to and earthly Father is a huge diservice to our awesome God. Some Fathers are downright rotten both as people and as Fathers. With no disrespect to our own parents, however righteous, no man o woman can even come close to the perfection of God.

We are told to test all things against scripture and while their are points of contention over the salvation debate, for my money at least his words ares imple clear and concise, our lives belong to him, he is able to uphold and sustain them, with or without our input and he will delivere into his Fathers hand all that his Father has given him, he shall not lose even one, however hard they might try. If anyone trully has the heart to reject God having known him, I would suggest that they examine themselves and their experiences very closely indeed.

i think we loose him when our wills go against him and if one tries hard enough they will loose him.

If anyone trully has the heart to reject God having known him, I would suggest that they examine themselves and their experiences very closely indeed.

I think a person should examine themselves as scripture even tells us to do that. Sometimes terrible experience brings things into people lives that must be overcome and tis not always easily done. You can love the lord with all your heart but still have things in your life that you had no control over conquering your will so it more to this than just a debate over losing your salvation or not being able to.

And i think we do disservice to God when we compare him to our earthly father as well for some have distorted images of fathers in general and they see the heavenly father in the same way and it hinders relationship with heavenly father to where they will not go to our heavenly father not because they don't want his love but because of the tainted images they were given.

But on the flip side to stay balanced their are good fathers and mothers who have given good images to their children and the correlation in these instances is proper and right and these are extremly blessed people but not all were that fortunate.

NewPilgrim,

I used an example of a godly earthly father-who would be heartbroken at a child's choice in leaving him forever without desire for returning or repenting and then the example if the child chose to repent. How could a father resist their child repenting. I thought I was talking among Christians- I'm sorry= I should consider those who are not or clarified I was speaking of a godly father and a sinful child.

This example was in no way refering to an earthly father liken unto God. Mearly an example as Jesus gave of the Prodical Son.

As far as my personal life, My father did what he said he would do, his rules were firm and done in Love, I had a huge desire to ask for forgiveness-even after he spanked me and that totally set me up to know- about keeping my relationship correct with Father God.

My heavenly Father corrects me too, and I repent when I am wrong- I don't want to be

out of his will for my life and I seek him and his approval only.

Too many people fit God into their box and their doctrine-we should never do that. Are we following the doctrine of man or the word of God.

I agree with some of you... You cant lose the salvation at all. If we keep sinning, we always ask for the forgive then repent and no more sin. We are sinners. Because Once you are saved, you are all in LIfe of Book.

Jesus told the story of the lost son, the parable many of us have called the Prodigal son. In that story Jesus is very comfortable comparing the Heavenly Father to an earthly one. The whole point of the story is on the unconditional, longsuffering love of the Father. The story was told with the Pharisees as the audience, and Jesus told of the hypocrisy of the son who stayed home and wanted his brother disowned. I wonder what that adds to the conversation.

I do not believe there is anything that can separate me from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus..

If I am born again...

Read Rom 8

Rom 8:9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

:)

Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing. For to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I do not find.

Rom 7:19 For I do not do the good that I desire; but the evil which I do not will, that I do.

Rom 7:20 But if I do what I do not desire, it is no more I working it out, but sin dwelling in me.

Rom 7:21 I find then a law: when I will to do the right, evil is present with me.

Rom 7:22 For I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man;

Rom 7:23 but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin being in my members.

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then with the mind I myself serve the Law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

a universal struggle for all of us to walk in the Spirit...

and we all fail at times...

When we do God chastens us ..and changes us..

If I were to die in the middle of a rebellious temper tantrum I am still saved..

Phi 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Phi 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

And as earlier posted You need to hear from the Lord on this for your self..

Keep praying that the Lord will speak to your heart concerning this issue..

I believe with all of my heart that nothing God ever does or allows in unjust..

You may want to keep that in mind too..

He is perfect in all His ways...

Lord Bless you and teach your heart His Truth... :emot-highfive:

David, you made a good point. might be also worth noticing that the sheep already belonged to the shepherd, the coin already belonged to the woman and the Son already had his Father, before any of them strayed, and not one was lost......

The sheep chose to stray from his master, it left the flock, but the shepherd still retrieved him from his perilous renegade journey. The Son,, who also left his Father deliberately and set out to squander his inheritance realised his fault and returned to his Father. One came back, the other was sought out and carried back. ALL were returned........Interesting

We all agree that salvation/new birth is not earned, but somehow people want to revert to works as a means of maintaining salvation. It was grace and remains and will be grace that takes me home. Tony evans points out that salvation is wrap up in my new identity, I get my identity from my new birth not my performance then or thereafter. First, thing you say to a child who has been rebellious, "will you please act like one of mine, or when you send them out to the prom, "don't forget who's child you are tonight." But regardless of what does happen, that child is still yours and you don't disown them. If you did that would be a flaw in your character, and certainly God has no flaws.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
