Good for you Ben! ;)

No one should fault someone for presenting the truth.

Desiring someone to be saved and presenting the gospel is the highest calling we as Christians have.

1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1 Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

Hi Jeff,

Jeff, can I ask you a couple of questions.....?

1. Do you think you are strong enough in your faith to withstand the Lure and temptation of the enemy to lead you astray...?

2. What do you find most important above all else in your motivation to please your grandfather..? His acceptance or his salvation....?

Jeff, I do not think it is wise to go to this party if you are merely seeking to please your grandfather...You can still love and repect your grandfather withOUT loving and respecting what he DOES. If HE is not comfortable with this then it is HE who is failing to respect YOU...He may not appreciate your uncompromising stand, but at worst, it will cause him to THINK.........One step of compromise leads to two, leads to three Jeff...Pretty soon you'll have your very own doctrine on how to be accepting to people without ruffling their feathers......

Let me ask you, Did Jesus seek our acceptance or did he make plain the Truth......?

NO.....! He came that we might KNOW the TRUTH and no matter how much it divides family, Jesus came and requested that we accept HIM.....!!!! Clearly Jesus was NOT accepted, he was in fact REjected....When you speak the whole counsel of God you WILL be REjected Jeff. The prophets were, the diisciples were, Paul was flogged, stoned and thrown in jail and beaten repeatedly for speaking the truth, and HE spoke the truth "In Love and grace". If you are being accepted for the message you proclaim, then Jeff, it's the wrong message....Don't water down the message of the cross..Don't strip the gospel of its power to SAVE. Salvation and the message of the cross is "foolishness" to those who are perishing, but it is the message of salvation unto those who believe and are SAVED.

You will gain a lot of enemies by being an UNcompromising Christian......Even when you speak in Love it will be handled as offense because the Truth always reveals and exposes the LIE.......The Light always exposes what is hidden in the darkness.......

When Jesus spoke," anyone who doesnt HATE his mother or father for my sake is not worthy of the kingdom." The correct translation of Hate in the hebrew means simply to "Love Less"......To Love God MORE is"To Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, soul, body mind and strength." Part of Loving God is to Honour your mother and father so that it will go well with you and you shall live long in the land that God has given you..." Jesus never spoke contrary to the Word of God.

Your grandfather is still with you and that is a good thing, but by being an uncompromising follower of Christ you will stand a greater opportunity of NEVER losing Him, than to accept and respect him in his false teaching of demons and have only the few years he has left....

When all is said and done Jeff, what does God say........"Hate even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh." "Come out from among them, touch no unclean thing and I will receive you unto myself....I will be your God and you shall be my people."

That doesnt mean HATE your grandfather Jeff.........It simply means do NOT compromise your faith in order to be pleasing to him......

I hope this helps... :emot-highfive::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Regards,

Ben.

Whether or not the Masons are WRONG is an OPINION and not FACT!!

Fact is, the Mason's are not teaching Satan Worship, they do not sacrifice lambs or anything else.

They are an organization whose members (some do, others don't) attend Churches, most of which are very good Fundamental Evangelical Churches. The Masons are Not a Religious Teaching Organization. They do, however apply Moral and Biblical principles in their Meetings and they require respect, honesty and decency (sp) from their members.

Various people in this forum have sought to try and 'slander' the Mason Organization and I would think, this grandson knows his Grandfather well enough to know His Grandfather's Spiritual Health.

At the party, the grandson, I guarantee, is not going to be asked to do anything UNSCRIPTURAL!

I know many people who are Masons, people who fellowship in Clubs such as the Grange, and others.

I don't feel its ever wrong to attend celebrations, or even go to weddings, etc that are different that our own 'churches'.

I feel to make such judgement would be a personal decision. After all it is an individual walk with God. IF his going isn't going to 'throw off his faith', what big deal is it. They don't try so hard to control other's minds - yet I can't say that about other religious organizations.

Yes, ultimately its between this grandson and his God.

My final thoughts

Part of the statement and a question in the opening post

"I rarely say no to family, but this might be a case where I should...

And he's a devoted Christian.

This is so strange. Masons- are wrong, right?"

Sunshine and Smiles,

The Mason's honor a god that is not biblical. And it is wrong for a Christian to support or condone their religious teachings.

That is a fact

This does not slander the Masons anymore than saying that Buddhism is not Christian and their teachings should not be supported or condoned slanders Buddhists.

These are not my final thoughts on the subject.

1 Thessalonians 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Christians are not supposed to turn back to idols but from them...

The only issue we have common ground on is on the fact that it is up to the grandson if he should go or not.

I think your problem is with the fact that Christianity is exclusive. If it included all beliefs to make people who think like you happy it would not be Christianity.

That is a fact.

One can either be a Christian or one can be a Mason, but they can't truely be both. The Masons are in direct conflict with Chrisitinity. Unfortuantly most Masons either didn't read their books as they moved up each level within their lodge or they just don't understand. There have been some high ranking Masons who have left the group and wrote books on what the Masons truely believe. I am not saying that Masons aren't good people, I am not saying that they don't do great things to help people, they do......But so do the Hell's Angles motorcyle group.

Masons are called to give 'blood oaths' very early on in their indoctrination to the cult. Blood oaths are expressly forbidden within the Bible, therefore Sunshine, their principles are not Biblical.

one verse - be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers - what FELLOWSHIP hath light and darkness.

Come out from among them be ye seperated and touch not the unclean thing and I will receiver you to myself.

Have no fellowship with the works with darkness.

I said one verse but I give three reason why granddad cannot be a Mason and Christian at the same time.

Two different God here. He has to choose ye this day whom He shall serve'

blood oaths....

good point... maybe you are right about the masons taking them, and maybe you are wrong about that...i will neither confirm nor deny them, that is not my place.

the point is that just about everyone on here has made a blood oath....

so, does that mean that every one on here that has made the blood oath in their life is a member of a cult?

now that every one is being offended by being told that they have made a blood oath, and are totally upset at me ( thats fine, dont bother me none )

here is the blood oath almost every person i know has done at one time or another....

"......Cross my heart, and hope to die, stick a neddle in my eye......"

this is infact a blood oath....

while saying this the person crosses the heart with one hand with the other raised while taking this pledge or oath.

just kids stuff???

dont think so... the tongue is sharper then any two edged sword... in the tongue is the power of life and death... and when we speak, we are empowering...

how many people curse the very ground they walk on and do not even realize it?

how many people curse their very own bodies and then wonder why they feel so bad or get sick?

how many people do not control their tongue (not that they can not control it, they chose not to)

how many people use their tongues to cut others down? some times this even comes in the form of the coveted prayer request.

I do not condone Free Masons, but neither do I condemn them.

here is a little about people around me, that i deal with on a daily bassis in my work.

J.W. there are no J.W. that owe my company any money.

LDS. there are no LDS that owe my company any past due monies.

masons. there are none that owe this company any monies.

SDA, there are none that owe the company.

buhdist, there are none that are in debt to this company.

hindu, there are none that are in past due status with this company.

Christian faith (verious denominations, to include Catholic) many are in past due status, some as much as $1,000 and as little as $50.00 refusing to even attempt to settle up.... avoiding calls and letters.... and then wonder why i choose not to do business with them anymore, and bad mouth the company for not cattering to them anymore...

why would anyone want to be a Christian with this sort of witness???

I am a Christian, not because of other "Christians" but because I know the Truth about Christ.

for the longest time, i did not understand why so many people would not go to church, cause of the hypocrites that dwell there...

like the hippy that had been on the street for years, decided to go back to church, but when he entered the foyer, the ushers quickly ushered him back out side....

he was sitting on the curb when God came by and asked what the problem was, he said that he wanted to go in and worship.... God then looked at him and said...... DONT FEEL BAD, THEY WONT LET ME IN THERE EITHER....

God does not want to visit our buildings.... .not just once a week.... we go to church wanting a visit from God..... that is so far out of it that it is not even funny.....

GOD WANTS TO DWELL IN OUR HEARTS, not visit our house for an hour a week....

ever wonder why we do not see more things happening??? I'll tell you.... we spend so much time preparing ourselves so that we have the right look, that we know the right words and we have the right color and perfume and every hair is in its place, so that our appearance, our shell is ready to show off, that we forget why we are even getting together....

we go, we find our best, most influentual friends and we put on an act... we may shed some tears from the flesh, not the heart, we go the the alter and genuflect not even a good bow, much less more then a second or two in prayer... we may even kneel there for a few minutes, but not in genuine prayer, and we get up wipe our eyes and tell the world we have done our duty.....

we corner the pastor, and take up all his time talking about all the stuff we have done, we grab the song leader and try to convince them that we have an awesome song to sing and we just have to have time to sing it to everyone so that they know how bad we carry a tune with out the bushel basket...

nothing but an act... nothing but playing church....

come to my church.... we have this and that and this and that..... come to my church, we have fellowship dinners every sunday after church... come to my church there is this program and that program...... we even have movie night for the singles.... come to my church... we have all the right words and the right music and the right moves.... we can get you to heaven before you know it....

come to my church....

WHOS CHURCH???

Hi Mike,

Can't argue with much of what you have written. (I still disagree with you about Masons :noidea:

I think the problem is not Christians, it is the Christian church in America and what it is and has become. We forgive our every foible, I think it is more about Americans and how hypocritical we are as a country. How much honor do we have anymore? Are we just becoming a nation of deadbeats as you have pointed out, all the while cloaking ourselves in self-righteousness and emotional saving experiences? How many of those people who won't pay you are deacons and elders in their churches, I bet quite a few. It is very dangerous to our souls. We call ourselves a Christian nation? Give me a break, we are an embarrassment to the Kingdom of God.

If we were just a normal country well than I would think differently, but we are not, as a nation we are worse than other nations who claim less Christians, what can that possibly say about us?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
