THE BLOOD WILL NEVER LOSE IT'S POWER by Andre Crouch

No matter if we are at the highest high or the lowest valley His blood will not only reach us but cover us !! I have been in the valleys of grief (losing children, siblings, parents and close friends to the enemy death) and on top of the mountains(With the Lord's healings both physical and spiritual not to mention the countless daily blessings that just lift us to that high place) and just by 'pleading the blood' it "gives me strength from day to day".....It has "soothed my doubts and calmed my fears"......There's another topic of discussion for you Robert..."pleading the blood". I have been in some heated ones with believers that tell me we don't need to! ...That had me on my knees for answer until the Holy Spirit kept bringing Isa.9:6 ".....He is named Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace"...The Lord showed me ..."COUNSELOR (another term for lawyer..pleading my case before His Father).WOW...'pleading' not 'begging' but interceding"...woo hoo!!! I plead the blood!! Knowing He is my counselor....And I am blessed!! He rests my case!

I love all the hymns about the blood and about Christ.! Favorite contempory is ABOVE ALL by Michael W. Smith

Was going through rejection issues and the Lord used this song to show me Jesus' rejection .."REJECTED AND ALONE"...(mine was nothing in comparrison) While thanking Him for using music to minister to me He spoke to my heart "You don't know what ALL I took to the cross that day!" "IS'NT HE WONDERFUL...WONDERFUL..WONDERFUL.."

Fanny Crosby 1820-1915 wrote over 8,000 hymns. She was blind fom the the age of six.

She took her lack of sight very well and has been an inspiration to many!

"The first face ever to gladden my sight will be when I get to heaven and behold the face of the One who died for me. . . . I verily believe that God intended that I should live my days in physical darkness so that I might be better prepared to sing His praise and lead others from spiritual darkness into eternal light. With sight I would have been too distracted to have written thousands of hymns."

This is a very comforting hymn.

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!

Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God.

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

refrain:

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;

Angles descending, bring from above

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest;

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

How Great Thou Art

Jesus Lover of My Soul

It is Well with My Soul

Nothing but the Blood

and others...probably can't think of all their names...plus I go to a contemporary church, so we sing mostly contemporary worship music.

The best hymn ever has got to be "Peace in the Valley" with a close second being "Just a closer walk with thee".

I don't really like the modern ones, the ones which it appears have taken about 10 minutes to write and are practically the same sentence repeated over and over again.

But the old favourites, the ones that people can really "get stirred up about" always come up in any church because they are still really good songs. Like:

Abide with Me

Mine eyes have seen the glory

He who would valiant be

Praise my soul the king of heaven

Rock of Ages

Just as I am

He hideth my soul

My Jesus, I love thee

Leaning on the everlasting arms

Revive us again

The old rugged cross

Sweet hour of prayer

Nothing but the blood

Amazing Grace

In the sweet by and by

Oh Holy Night

How Great Thou Art

But then, these hymns have to be sung by someone with a guitar or by a choir - but not too "formally". If they are sung by a group of old women with high voices, they sound too depressing.

All these hymns are pretty new to me anyway as I didn't hear them in childhood (except of course when my father got drunk and would sing "Revive us again" or "Mine eyes have seen the glory" - for ages I thought those were "drinking songs". I never did figure out why he did that).

Some I've heard lately that I really like are: God leads his Dear Children along, Put your hand in the hand, turn your radio on, He cares, Crying in the chapel, Swing low sweet Chariot, Before it's time for Amen, Will the Circle be Unbroken, Where could I go but to the Lord, His hand in Mine, People get ready, Take my hand precious Lord, the Battle of Jericho, Steal away, Freedom after a while, when the saints go marching in, Move on up a little higher, Closer to the Light, or "Were you there".

Some ones worth mentioning that I have been given the CDs of in the past year, that I think are just brilliant songs, are: "Guide me oh thou great Jehovah", "The days of Elijah", Cliff Richard's "Faithful One" and Johnny Cash's "The man comes around". And though I don't usually like "Celtic worship" someone gave me a CD with "Be Thou my Vision" on and it is a really good song.

Then of course there is Cliff Richard's "Millenium prayer" (I only just found out that he didn't write the words and the words are actually ancient and from the Bible, but it is a great arrangement).

My opinion anyway.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
