if technology has improved through out history, then why did it take so long for man to come up with anything other then feet, horse/donkey, and wagons, and boats to transport themselves from Abrahams time until the middle of the 1800's?

there has been found a rental agreement for a wagon with boundries set forth in the document that was specific about where that wagon could go, this document was dated to the time frame of Abraham.

and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

and the Lord said to Daniel...

O Daniel, Shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.........and I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, ans sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be a time, times and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the Holy people, all these things shall be finished and I heard but i understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

and He (the Lord) said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.......But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Hi Mike,

What does any of this have to do with the rapture of the church?

Hi Mike,

not the end time, THE PRE-TRIB RAPTURE. How does what you wrote have to do with the pre-trib rapture?

if there was no such thing why is it told to us that those that are dead in Christ shall rise, and those that remain and in Christ will follow????? we are told that we will meet Him (Christ) in the clouds.....

people are waiting for a man to walk this earth again, only thing is, the one that will walk it first is the anti-christ..... until the 3.5 year mark into the trib....

mike

The rising of the dead in christ first then the ones who remain all happen in the twinkling of a eye. It all happens at the same time.

Yep... in a twinkling of an eye, the dead in Christ rise, and then we who are alive will rise right after!

I have been raised in the Babtist church but have attended nondeminanational and Assembly of God churches also. I have always been taught and believed in the rapture of the church in all of these. The other night I saw a T.V show that says the rapture is not mentioned in the Bible. I have looked in the Bible where I thought it was and it is not there. Help Please.

True - the word "rapture" does not appear in the Bible. Rapture is from the word translated "caught up" in the scripture LJ referenced - 1 Thes 4:17. Paul's original letter was written to the Church in Greek. The word he used was harpagasoumetha, which means to "be caught up" or "seized" or "snatched away." For a thousand years, the only Bible translation available was the Latin Vulgate and the word rapture is a transliteration (not translation) of the word used in the Latin version of that scripture.

So if anyone challenges you, they are only argueing semantics. If they don't like 'rapture' then let them call it 'the catching away.' The theological term is the Translation of the Church. But they are all one-in-the-same. Why-so-blind is slightly confused between answering your question (where is it in scripture) and debating the meaning of what appears in scripture.

Hope that helps...

The rapture is based on a vision of a 15-year old Scottish girl named Margaret Macdonald. It isnt in the bible. Jesus will only come back one more time and that will be the end of it. The rapture teaches that christians will be raptured away by Jesus to avoid tribulation. So the rapture really isnt in the bible. But if you wanna believe in the rapture it wont change anything about your salvation it is just part of 90% of the churches now adays doctrine.

you can read about it here

For correction the word used in GREEK for "caught up" is the word ἁρπάζω (harpazō) meaning, "to seize (in various applications): - catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force)."

I too was raised to believe in the raputre and have for 48 yrs. Last year I really looked into the scriptures and found there was no support for a pretrib rapture. Christians have faced persecution since the begining and will continue to do so until Jesus comes after the tribulation.

Mankinds persecution of Christians is irrelavent, however, there will be no persecution against Christians by God Romans 5:9

9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

We have been reconciled unto God through Christ, there will be no God appointed wrath against the believer. The tribulation is God appointed wrath.

Peace

CJ

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
