Would you want to stand before Jesus having just murdered yourself?

Yes. And I would ask Him why?

-c-

I have too much of a "fearful respect " for lack of a better way to express it, to even think that way....

I would not want to answer to Him for that..because although I will not lose my salvation I do believe I would lose something... :P

rebellion against God is a serious act.....

Huh Uhh...I am not that arrogant...

I am not arrogant. You don't even know me how can you make a judgement like that. You know nothing about me. You know nothing about my pain or circumstances. You just don't know. So how can you judge me.

Wouldn't a real Christian offer a hand, or a prayer, or something instead of judgement. It is your response that is arrogant.

Mat 7:3 "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

You will find that link useful.

We all have hard times in our lives. I Cor 10:13 tells us that He will see us through all trouble.

No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it .

This is the time to hold fast to the Lord. To cling to Him. To have trust and faith in Him. Things will get better. Dont take your life. It is a gift from God, not yours to throw away.

I know that deep and chronic depression can afflict a Christian. Such an affliction fell upon a friend of mine and a few years ago she succeeded in taking her own life. She wanted to go to God, to be free of her pain, not knowing where to turn. She had a faith that was evident in the rest of her life except for this disease. Of course we all know that healing was available to her. She was ill. I believe that at her death, she was taken into the Saviour's arms, just as anyone would be who suffers a chronic illness and dies.

I believe she will have suffered remorse, not ever finding her victory in this life, but I am convinced that the Lord will wipe that tear from her eye, as He promised.

It was seeing Jesus with tears in His eyes asking me why I would do such a thing that gave me the strength not to end my life.

I don't believe any comfort of Heaven would have removed the horror of that memory from my mind for the rest of eternity.

Rom 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

Rom 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Does this include suicide?

thx;

-c-

Hello mrcorey,

No this does not include suicide.

Romans 8:33-35

If we accepted Christ as Saviour then their is no person who can pronounce judgment upon us for any tresspasses or wrongs we have done "why" because our past sins were forgiven we cannot be charged with those crimes and longer as we have a clean conscious and God justified us as we never did those things. You see there is no condemnation towards your past crimes toward God you did in rebellion.

Now if you are in this state and have had your past sins forgiven you can't never be charged or condemned to die eternity in hell again for those sins. Your slate is clean.

For the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts and His spirit bears witness with our spirits we are the sons of God.

The key to this passage of scripture in Romans 8:33-39 is that it is talking specifically about being seperated from the "LOVE" of God through all these things mentioned. As King David said in the book of Psalms that if he made his bed in hell thou art there. In other words God is everywhere for he is "Omnipresent" for God is Love and there is no where within His universe that He has created that mankind can escape Him or His love.

There is no situation that we as Christians can get into that God's abiding love is not there to help us and comfort us. It is a lie and a perversion of the scriptures to think otherwise here. Sometimes our pain such as in the case of being suicidal can misinterpret the word of God in order so we can justify our own feelings and thoughts we have and it is so such a big lie.

When it says nothing and then it say death it does not or should not be interpreted as suicide is okay.

you see death is final it is in this life we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus our Lord and this passage is addressing this side of life's hardships that can't seperate us from His love for us (VS 35) there is no false charges from others that will stand against us, tribulations and distress, persecutions, famine, nakedness, peril, sword and even the spiritual realm of darkness is not able to defeat us as we are told to put on the whole armor of God to withstand the wiles of the devil. As we are in a spiritual battle that tries to keep us away from God's love and tries to take our confidence away from us because when we have our confidence we can ask what we will and He heareth us.

God is weak when it comes to the cries of His children who love Him and serve Him and He will work all things to their good it says in the word. those that love Him and are called according to His purpose. (1 Corinthians 1:25 the weakness of God is us His children) for God has His eyes on those who are righteous before Him serving Him in love and His ears can hear their cry when they so shall cry out to Him in whatever distress or situation they may be in in this life.

His grace is sufficient and made perfect in our weaknesses.

Death will lead to the next life for it is the door way to it we all must go through. The question is are you really ready for the other side or are you heavy laden down burdened in sin. Are you in distress and in trouble and you can't see no way out. Please know that nothing can seperate you from the love that God has to give unto you during this time for He is "Omnipresent" and will always be right there where you are no matter where you are at there is no escaping the love of God for His love is there for us when we are even facing our death beds and will comfort us as the sting of death will be taken away from us that love Him and are called according to His purpose. Question is do you love em or are you full of self hate and denial in what all the feelings of suicide entails in one's mind. For do not at all mistake those lies in your head going on about suicide trick you and make you think this passage of scripture has allowed for it I beg with you don't do despite unto the love of God that He has so to give unto any one who has these thoughts on the subject for it is a grave mistake.

I weep that a subject such as this can so tare a soul into and blind the mind to the great love of God that is there in the midst of all the turmoil. That the pain of one's own heart could twist and justify one's negative behavior in the eyes of the Lord and say God approves. For it is deceitfulness of Satan coming to steal. kill and destroy plan and simple. I have had great heart ache today in light of this subject since I came on the boards this morning and I'm grieved and saddened beyong measure right now.

So I say to you mrcorey that if you are contemplating suicide that it is not the answer it is a lie. God loves you more than I can even convey to you at this very moment and no matter if your just curious about the subject the truth still holds true for God is there where you are no matter where you are in life or what circumstances your in or are facing right now. Just cry out to Him and tell Him what your going through seek help from other christians if you can but don't stop reaching and crying out.

There is a story in the bible where Jesus walked by and the man started hollering out Jesus Son of David have mercy on me and Jesus kept on walking but the man yelled out again Jesus thou Son of david have mery on me Jesus still kept on walking and the man yelled out again Jesus thou Son of David have mercy on me and Jesus stop and the man was healed of his infirmity.

Sometimes to get free and get the help we need we got to keep on yelling and crying out until we are heard by someone and they stop for us like Jesus. For the Lord will stop at your cries and come and help you. I keep you in my prayers

Openly Curious

I don't believe any comfort of Heaven would have removed the horror of that memory from my mind for the rest of eternity.

However, we will have no pain and no tears, so evidently when we remember things like this it would be from a different perspective. Don't ask me what it is, but...

I always wondered how things could be...

Hebrews says the saints watch us run our race, etc. I've always taken that to mean those who have gone on before, like my mother. And yet, when she sees what goes on in my life, how could she not cry? yet there are no tears. I have two sons, and if I died before one of them commited to Christ, and then he died without having done so, it would kill me inside to see that, knowing how much I love my kids. (not an issue they are both saved but i know how it would feel if it weren't so) But if there are no tears in heaven, if we can see what goes on, evidently we must see it from a whole different pov.

I would think it would be the same for having to stand before Christ, as a believer who loves Him and knowing that you've done something you were ashamed of. If you remembered that in eternity, it would, for whatever reason that we can't understand here, not cause us to cry.

There is clinical depression and then there is despair.

Clinical depression is something specific and often can be treated in a more medical model, Christians can suffer from this disease and it can lead to suicide. Certainly Christ will not hold us accountable for not getting our meds right, or not getting into counseling soon enough.

However there is also despair and hopelessness. Now if we lose hope, how can we say we know faith? I mean if nothing else, I can sit here and do nothing and simply wait to die naturally and go to heaven. In the grand scheme of things a life span of 25 years or 75 years is so close as to be meaningless, we will be spending 1,000,000 plus years in our first little segment in eternity.

I guess I would try to ere on just waiting things out, why not? The answer to the why not may say a lot about our faith. We won

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
