You have not explained away my verse. Jesus Himself said the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Yet you claim more. Does that mean you do not take Jesus at His word?

AJ, Jesus Christ NEVER mentioned in that verse that Blasphemy is THE ONLY SIN THAT CANNOT BE FORGIVEN!

No? Lets look again.

Mar 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

Mar 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

All sins shall be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Pray tell, what does the word "all" mean to you?

AJ, you MISINTERPRETING the holy scriptures...

I will repeat in Mar 3:28

Mar 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

It is clearly mentions that All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, Jesus just mentioned here "sins which committed to Jesus in the flesh"

Mark 3

22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons." 23 So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house. 28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." 30 He said this because they were saying, "He has an evil spirit."

 I fail to see how what you are saying fits with the passage.

Including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole: - all (manner of, means) alway (-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no (-thing), X throughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever.

If you do not see the word "all" is used in that verse, then you are not reading scripture.

OSAS is primarily a Calvinistic vs biblical doctrine that fits with TULIP (acronym), but not with Scripture. The Bible affirms that believers are secure IN Christ (Jude 24, 25), but it does not teach that unbelievers have eternal life. The question then is if a believer can revert to unbelief. The Bible has many conditional passages and warnings about the possibility of falling away or apostasy (fall from truth). If an unbeliever can become a believer, then a believer could become an unbeliever (e.g. Judas, Charles Templeton...used to preach during Billy Graham's high profile times). Unless we are sock puppets or robots, we can change our minds and wills.

I Jn. 5:11-13 Eternal life is in the Son, not an irreversible thing given to us at conversion. IF we are in the Son and remain in the Son, we have eternal life. If we reject the Son, even if we once believed, we do not have life.

The Greek present tense is usually a continuous tense. Jn. 3:16, 36 Those who believe and continue to believe (not the one time past aorist tense) will have life.

The grounds (reason for which) of salvation are grace and the person and work of Christ.

The conditions (not without which) of salvation are repentant faith and continuance in the faith.

Monergism says that salvation is all of God. It is true that God alone initiates and provides salvation, but we must appropriate it (synergism).

Love relationships, the essence of reconciliation, must be freely entered into and maintained. They are not caused nor coerced. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. The sin of persistent, defiant unbelief against great light will separate us relationally forever from God. It is not just one sin like lust that instantly causes loss of salvation as one poster wrongly implies.

Hebrews 6 refers to those who were believers (note the language= clearly talking about genuine believers), but have reverted back to Judaism (cf. Christians who become Muslims, Mormons, Buddhists, JWs, Jews, etc.). If they trust the shadow/type of animal sacrifices and continue to do so, they are apostates and will be lost. If they come to their senses, they could be restored. Only those who continue to reject Christ cannot be brought back to repentance (based on all relevant texts vs proof texts).

Robert Shank's "Life in the Son: A study of the doctrine of perseverance" exegetes the relevant texts (OSAS and non-OSAS share similar verses, but understand them differently; as well, we affirm the OSAS texts that are for BELIEVERS, but do not ignore the stern warnings about the possibility of apostasy and becoming an UNBELIEVER with no life nor security).

As I mentioned before in one of these threads:

Fruit bears witness to the tree - works bears witness to salvation.

Works is evidence of salvation, not the way to obtain salvation.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
