Look at this sentence;

Fatal stings, such as that which killed Australian naturalist and television personality Steve Irwin,[2] are extremely rare (as of 1996, worldwide known deaths from stingray barb injuries numbered 17),[3] but can occur if a sting punctures the heart or chest, causing complications due to both the sting's location and the poison in the barbs.

We are living in the age of Instant Media Updates. :thumbsup: The guy died this morning and he is already part of Encyclopedic lore.

Wow...Now that's quick... :huh:

:emot-pray:

Another sad factoid.... The segment that he was filming when struch by the stingray was for a new animal show to be hosted by his daughter, 8 year old Bindi.

Geeze, that's kind of creepy.

Hey Marnie, off the topic (maybe not) do you know Art Bell? He lives in Pahrump.

Looks like my post was deleted.

Here it is again in part, for Marnie:, and comments on Steve Irwin.

MEANWHILE -- MARNIE!

Wow gal, this guy has been sooooo cool. Now mind you, I am old and I love his show (someone mentioned watching him when he was younger) lol.

Anyway, I heard the news this morning and was very saddened. From what I understand, his death was caused by a stingray, which got him in the heart. One report I read said he died before help could even arrive. So sad.

The man had so much to offer with education of animals and wildlife in general.

I pray that he was a Christian.

Praying for his wife and beautiful children.

Yeah Marnie, did Art sell off his property and radio station there after his wife died?

For those who might not know, Art Bell's wife died after a asthma attack... Months later he married a 20 yr. old Phillipino gal he met over the internet and moved to the Phillipines. What happened to his son I wonder? The sad thing is that they are not Christian and his deceased wife practiced wicca. :emot-pray:

I feel very sad over this tragic accident that happened to him and feel deeply for his family. :thumbsup:
