What's wrong with it?

It made me pee my pants. Movies shouldn't be allowed to be that funny. Come to think of it, they must've passed a law. Nothing has come close since then.

Before I respond to this thread. I must ask that all put away any arrows, swords, Holy Hand Grenades, and exploding bunny rabbits they may have.

I AM NOT A FAN OF THIS MOVIE. It is a strange thing for me. There are bits I liked. The Knights who say Nee mainly. Other bits have provided a laugh here and there. But on the whole I do not much like this movie. HOWEVER when my friends act out, or quote, bits from it. I am on the floor in hysterics. I have watched the film on a couple of occasions. And will again soon.

I find nothing wrong with this movie as a Christian. In fact I adored Life of Brian. That was brilliant on many levels. So it's not Python. After all I loved that Deadliest JOke, The Philosophers Soccer Game, Dead Parrot, and Lumberjack Song, among many.

Well given that I think the Divine has a sense of humor...what is there to be offended about?

One of my favorites since I was about seven (far too young for me to get most of the jokes, but my dad started us early on Python...)!

"Oh can't I just have a little bit of peril?"

On a biblical level... it was blasphemous.

To those who do not know the Law, the blasphemy is often hidden, because terms and routes of blasphemy aren't spoken in many Christian Churches. The actors (comedians) in this portrayed G-d in a blasphemous way, not hallowing His name, but mocking it. They made a false image of G-d (thoough not an idol) and placed false reverence in it, hinting at mockery towards Christian practice of reverence. One part that was particularly blasphemous was the exchange of words between "G-d" and the "Knights", where mockery is lent towards our Father's "omniscient" nature. He is then portrayed (lightly as to not be too noticable) as an impatient diety who would throw a fit if He didn't get His way. The picture it portrays is for the most part, opposite of the Nature of our Father. It does not "Hallow" or "Reverence" His name, or His Nature (as commanded), and therefore leaves much to be desired in the people who find it humorous to mock and jest in falsehood of our Father. I myself laughed, but when I came to the knowledge of Christ, saw more clearly what was wrong with the movie, and the comedians.

In this movie also, there was a large display of violence (Black Knight, Wedding Ceremony, etc.), and the bible warns us to not be lovers of violence. In this case the killing of human beings is found to be hillarious, which in other cultures such as Sudan and the Congo where militant groups routinely go from villiage to villiage cutting off limbs and heads with machettes and even pocket knives, would be seen as extremely offensive and distasteful. It is not Christ-like to show a face of "oh I feel so bad for those poor human beings submitted to brutal genocide in a land where poverty and aids kills off a third of the populace" and then in private go watch a flick about people getting their limbs removed, or the slaughter of wedding guests, laughing heartily at the "comedy" found in such things.

As was mentioned, there is a "convent" full of "chaste"( ) women giving themselves over to lust and inciting one who is "chaste" ( ) to lust. It also limitedly shares with the audience that these women also act this way towards one another... all in all being unfit for the eyes of Children. If we guard the eyes and thoughts of children, why shouldn't we guard ourselves in the same way as believers in the Lamb of G-d?

Also of small mention was the "sorcerer" that was enlisted by "holy knights with a commision from G-d" to aid in their quest. I found it distasteful that such a reference would be made towards Saints needing the help of agents of evil to fufill an ordained mission. It's like enlisting prostitutes to help win over college students, with the ends justifying the means. *sigh*

I reeeaaallly didn't like the "Holy Hand Grenade" part, where mockery is made of Torah revelation concerning proper function and cause. The Torah in parts, outlines in exact detail, things that G-d felt needed to be explained to the people to make sure they get it right, with little room for error. Yes, the definition of things can be quite lengthy, but should not be mocked for these things are things that the Father has revealed to us in love. I did not appreciate it.

Apart from this, the comedians themselves aren't too G-dly to say the least; Cursing, slandering, irreverence, blasphemy, etc. etc. the list goes on and on. Why would we place ourselves in a position to be spiritually effected by such men? Paul says to meditate on what is Good and Righteous (summary), not what is blasphemous, unG-dly, and irreverent. Should we entertain ourselves or be entertained by the unG-dly?

Blah.

Shalom

This also is worth repeating more than twice.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
