A week ago I did not even know what universalism was. Now I am starting to notice it on every corner. My own pastor suggested getting William Barclay's commentaries on the new testament. I did an internet search and I came up with a sermon on universalism by William Barclay. We are fast approaching melt down. Brothers and sisters beware.......

Universalism means, in a nut shell, that all people will eventually be saved.

I am discovering there are a lot of people out there who believe this doctrine and they claim at the same time to be Christians.....

Am I missing something in the scripture, because I just don't see where they are coming from...........

We have had a few posters in the nearly two years I've been on Worthyboards that were Universalism. First I ever heard of it. I was shocked too. But yeah, I'm seeing more and more myself now. :o

One important thing that I have learned from being on these boards is that just because a person pins the title "christian" on themselves, doesn't necessarily mean they are Christian!!! :t2: I have heard many so called "christians" with beliefs that make your hair stand on end!!

Discernment more than ever is now needed, when listening to an individual's message! The enemy has a very smooth and flattering tongue! :o

Amen Tyler, The times are rapidly coming to an end and with it, the enemy is getting busier because he's desperate. We have to be on guard and very careful. Everything has to line up with scripture. Everything. :o

I think that might stem from the verse that says every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.....

I had a house guest that was preaching that, I told him that he was full of something, what i didnt know, but he was teaching wrong.....

Yes, I believe EVERY KNEE WILL BOW.....

and yes, EVERY TONGUE WILL CONFESS.....

but not because they have all been taken out of the grasp of the devil, but because at the judgement, there will be two judgements...... there will be some that are kneeling and praising and worshiping in joy, happiness and love........ then the rest, that will be on their knees, begging for mercy..... oooops, what happened, they will be nashing of teeth there will be crying out in pain, and fear, and and and and and and and ........ what a way to go, man, worse then any spook movie......

universalism, is not even of the Bible...... not anywhere i have found..... and Revelation speaks the other way.....

Thats interesting Mr&Mrs Mike Irish

I never look at it in that way. I had the tough that it was referring to the time that the Messiah Jesus returns to rule in His 1000 year reign on earth. He shall rule the world and every knee will bow before Him weather they like it or not. I suppose what will be will be.

My take is a little different as well. I thought it meant that all will finally recognize that Christ is God and worthy and just and righteous. That all will recognize our filth and unworthiness. All. Not that all will be saved, but that all will know that God's plan is just and his way is the only way and that His judgement is righteous. Even the unsaved will recognize it, but it will be too late. JMO.

River, true, we will not know the exact day and hour, but we are to know the seasons. I do believe that we are in winter spiritually. The endtimes started when Jesus ascended into heaven, to be on the right side of the Father. It is since then that we have been anxiously awaiting His return. :o

*edited to add*

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

River, to further explain what I mean - as in this passage the people did not know, though they were told by Noah. They were warned, just as we have been. These people were non-believers. Noah knew the flood was coming and prepared. Believers are to be ready, and to to be watchful. We know He is coming, just not exactly when.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
