I Just Need To Vent

I really am a very positive person, so please forgive me for this long post that sounds so negative. I just need to vent!

This certain girl works where I work. Several years ago she filed for bankruptcy, lost her car and has ever since been bumming rides from anyone she can.

A few years ago she began asking me for rides. I didn

Tell her no, you have the right to. You don't even have to explain. You have no true ties to her. It's not like she was paying you and returning jesters or asking politely (like normal people should). You should feel better saying no to someone who you are not in a relationship with. I would never do that to others and neither would you- so say no. I wouldn't put it off, you can voice your opinion without getting ugly-right.

My mom gave rides to a woman that paid her when she could, but they were ok friends and it wasn't too inconvient for my mom, but sometimes, mom said, I'm sorry I can't do it and the lady found another way-but, see she asked in advanced and was able to make other arrangements.

You feel taken for granted, which is understandable considering the circumstance. I had a friend who did something similar, and eventually it came down to the fact that she was not thankful, and I couldn't afford to drive her around all the time.

I sat down with her and told her (quite bluntly) that I couldn't afford to drive her around all the time, but if she was willing to pitch in some gas money, I wouldn't have any problem with it. She said she could not afford to give me any money. And I said "thats too bad then". And that was it.

You CAN be a Christian and say NO. It doesn't make you a bad person, it just makes you realistic.

Sometimes we find people in our lives who absolutly get on our nerves and we ask why. We must remember that ..........Rom 8:28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

For some reason this person is in your life and somehow it's working for your good. When there are people like that in my life, this is what I do. Everytime we are around each other I preach the Word, praise God and sing worship songs. One of 2 things will happen........they will either be totally on fire for Jesus or never want to be around me again.

What did the Lord tell you to do? If your not hearing from him then hear from him in his Word and you will find the answer.

In his love,

Brian

I also have been in a similar situation, and I am amazed how much patience you have had. It got to the point where I just stopped, told the person, I was unable, did not give an explanation, and kept this up until she stopped asking me.

I would say you're in a tricky situation.

I want to say just totally blow her off....but then I think about Job and how the devil messed with him.

I would go the witness route....talk to her about God every chance you get....It could very well be that the devil is using her to get at you. I'm not saying this is the case, but you never know.

Witness to her.

Christ said "I was hungry and you fed Me, thirsty and you gave Me drink, naked and you clothed Me".

If you're uncomfortable about speaking to her about God, do as Giaour said....a cassette or bible CD.

I don't know what else to tell you....I've been where you're at and it's not fun.

I swear I have heard this same story before. . . :emot-highfive:

Does anyone in here have any idea what it is like to not have a vehicle? To be forced to "bum" rides of friends and coworkers, or family? Has anyone faced the humility of that? Knowing you are completely dependant on others for transportation is humiliating, frustrating and depressing.

I can understand that you would like some appreciation from her for showing her such kindness, I wonder, how often did people repay Jesus? Is it possible we could? I don't remember any stories about anyone even thanking him, save for the one leper. Your reward will be in Heaven. "If you have done this for the least of these my brethren, you have done it for me."

I've also been car-less and that's not fun either.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
