There was a movie called the village. You should see it.

Actually, The Village, is a perfect analogy of what life would be like and the lengths we would have to go to try to keep sin our of our lives.

Their whole lifestyle is based on one colossal lie, not just to their own families but to the whole world. To the point of purchasing thousands of acres and paying mega bucks to the government to make their "air space" a no fly zone.

They controlled their children's comings and goings and their curosity about the outside world with fear. "Don't go into the woods or the huge thing in the red cape will get you." [How many times have parents used that one?] Even to go as far as setting up centries and occassionally parading around in the costume to keep them at bay.

YET, they were not able to protect themselves from the attrocities that they feared. An attempted murder causing one of their precious children much pain and heartache and ending up sending her into that outside world that they were trying so desperately to keep out. Then the death of another who tried to attack her.

It's amazing how differently you look at a movie when you see it through God's eyes. :whistling: The Vilage is one of my favorite movies. I love the shock value of M, Night Shyamalan's movies. Even though I have seen them they still get me. :whistling:

Well, Belize is the only nation I know which has a specifically Christian statement in its constitution. Maybe we could all go there. The weather's great!

Nah, Leonard, thanks anyway, but I couldn't leave my church. It's the closest thing to Heaven I've found!

Iv been thinking a lot latley of life, society et c. Wouldnt it be good with an all christian community, maybe in an island somewhere? This might sound cult like, but think about it.

Raising children in a god fearing place where they can grow up in a god fearing enviorment without tv, and without sin?

Couldnt this be something?

this isnt what God called us to do....

we are not suppose to put the lamp under the basket....

we are suppose to be the light for the whole earth to see, if we were on an island, then we would not be able to be used by the Lord...

Christ never said being a Christian would be easy, or even safe, on the contrary, He spoke about it to the opposite, being a hard life on this earth..... that does not mean we are all suppose to go out and place ourselves in danger, no way, for again if we did that we would not be able to share the Gosple that way either....

we are, however, suppose to use good judgement as to picking our battles, like Christ, using discernment as to when to speak and when to walk away, and when to duck out avoiding the stones, until the time comes that God has for us....

my family has talked about living as you have said, building a single house (dwelling) with many wings to it and each sub-family having a wing which would have facilities for them, but yet the main kitchen and dinning area and sitting area would be centralized, as would be the main entrance to the house.

with us, at this point right now, there would be 6 wings, plus the suite for the Patriarc and Matriarc, there would be only one gas meter, onlly on electric meter, only one water meter...... instead of having 7 of each paying the fees for meter usage, customer charges, taxes and other fees and such,

for instance, mom and dad do not even use the minimum water usage so are charged the min rate, the usage they have would not add any to our bill, for we are between rates, and theirs added on would not change it...... so there is one bill that could be done away with.....

we would do it for economic reasons, not religious.

God has called us to be salt and light to the world. How can light brighten up a darkened area from which it is removed?

I think the Amish have the closest thing to this. I really admire them.

Judging from your average church, I doubt if you would be as problem free as you envision, however. Christians have plenty of character flaws of their own.

I agree with others posting here that there would be problems with this idea. Aside from the fact that we would be "hiding our lamp" as some have put it, we would bring sin with us. Everyone is sinful, and even the most devout Christians living together would eventually find ways to split themselves up and quarrel amongst themselves.

The sad but true fact of human nature.

It sounds great to me, Arash. We are so global now, in everything, it's really hard to avoid other influences. My only worry about an all Christian society is that we might forget about trying to win over others for the kingdom. That would leave roughly 75% of mankind unsaved.

I don't think it sounds cult like, simply because Christianity is the one true religion. There is NO downside to following Jesus.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
