Here is the "priveledged position", told to us by God:

John 10:28..."And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

"Shall never perish" denotes a present and future truth. There is no condition here, other than being a child of God.

I fully agree that John 10"28 has no condition in it.

You need to look at John 10:27 for that.

A hearing and following of Jesus is the condition that is required to meet the promise of John 10:28.

yes,

even Peter rejected Jesus, denounced ever having been with Him.......

Peter returned to Christ, and repented of having rejected Him.....

Judas, rejected Christ Jesus also, turned against Him....

but I do not feel that Judas repented and returned, rather, was eaten up with guilt over what he had done, that he could no longer live with the shame and dishonor.... I believe that if Judas had not hung himself, Jesus would have accepted him back as He did Peter and all the others that bailed out on Him..... just as Jesus accepts us back into the fold after we turn away from Him.....

'Remaining in Him' is a condition of salvation if you believe regeneration follows repentance and faith. If you believe regeneration precedes faith, then it may be viewed as a fruit (as CJW does). Perhaps regeneration is simultaneous with a change in ultimate intention (living for God vs Self). The present tenses (simple or participles) do imply an ongoing abiding/remaining in Christ for assurance of eternal life.

I don't view regeneration as preceding faith.

Regeneration is after spiritual re-birth, and is the on-going work of Jesus.

Eph 2:10

What do you rely upon to "remain in Him"?

Assurance is given upon meeting only ONE condition, John 3:16.

If one can "walk away" from salvation with "free will", then they have become "lost", correct?

Being saved means having eternal life, never to suffer the lake of fire.

If one who has , by his free will, walked away from being saved...then....

WHAT WAS HE EVER SAVED FROM?

I ask all of you who believe this "walking away" thing....

ARE YOU SAVED?........because........

BY YOUR TEACHING YOU MAY ALSO BECOME LOST AGAIN, SO IF YOU WIND UP LOST AGAIN, WERE YOU EVER TRULY SAVED?

Or....do you say that one is "saved" upon reaching heaven at death?

Then we will never know until we get there!

Contradicts 1John 5:13...bigtime!

So where is your assurance? What does it come from?

This whole idea that one must remain "in Him" to stay saved shows a lack of understanding of how salvation works. One does not get "in Him" by what they do. They do not get "out of Him" by what they do. You are placed in Him by God Himself. This was a work of Grace. You accept that by faith. Your works cannot get you saved, and thus they cannot keep you saved.

If your salvation depends upon your works, then you are your own savior. You have basically become your own Messiah. You are the one saving you and not Christ. You do not need Christ, because according to the theology of those who believe in this works based salvation, Christ does not have the power to keep you. You anti-OSAS should just pray to yourselves because you are more powerful than Jesus. You have the power to do what he cannot do. You have the power to ensure your salvation.

Either you are saved because you are a god and have the power to ensure that, or you are saved by Grace through faith in Christ alone.

OSAS believers sharpen up your private interpretation skills, and your addition, subtraction skills on these Scriptures and tell us again how we can not loose our salvation because we of course know that you are much closer to God's Truth than those who wrote these.

Luke 8:13

13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

(KJV)

John 15:5-6

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

(KJV)

Gal 5:4

4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

(KJV)

1 Tim 4:1

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

(KJV)

1 Tim 6:10

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

(KJV)

2 Pet 2:18-22

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
