Just because we don't see God does not mean he's not there.

It's not logical to deny God's existence. If you deny His existence, you are also saying that you have seen everything, heard everying, and know every fact and can say first-hand that there is no God; this does not work because this would make you omniscient, which would then make you God, so then God would exist.

Exactly.

Ohhh. As an ex-christian, I know the comfort that not having to think about it gives but to me it was just a false hope.

It's lazier to believe their isn't a God because then you excuse yourself from the obligation to do what's right as well as seek Him out. When you search for God, you will find Him. When you live for God He will bless you for it and show Himself to you. If you DON'T search for God, you're going to meet up with Him anyway, whether you wanted to or not.

"It's lazier to believe their isn't a God because then you excuse yourself from the obligation to do what's right as well as seek Him out."

So you're saying that without God you would stop doing the right thing? I don't need faith to make me do the good and charitable thing. I have never felt the urge to steal or kill or adulter even if I knew I could get away with it because there was no strict guideline that tells me not to. As a matter of fact I volunteer at a soup kitchen once a month, something most christions are supposed to do, but don't.

"I have never felt the hurge to steal or kill or adulter"... You've never once in your life hated, lusted, coveted, wanted to take something that wasn't yours,

been cruel to someone...

There is a difference between hating and killing and wanting and stealing.

Oh, and thanks for calling defected. It's always a sure sign that someoneis running out of things to say when they start insulting

It's not me who said it. It's God.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20 KJV)

The reason why you cannot see God is because you're blind to Him. The reason why you are blinded is because you have already rejected His existence; not because of any evidence, but because of your sin.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21 KJV)

I clearly seen that nowhere in either of those verses was god reduced to name-calling. Exactly which sin made me reject God? Because if every one sins and if sins make one blinded to God than how does anyone believe in him. Or maybe it has to be a big sin! But no, I've never committed one of those. So, if every one sins that means that everyone is on the same ground and therefore it must be an outside influence that makes us reject the faith. An outside influence like evidence against the exicstence of God.

The outside influence, I would think, would be sin itself.

However, I would like to see the convincing "evidence" against the existence of God. If it's out there, then it's game over for Christianity, correct?

I mean, what's the point in belief or faith if this "evidence" exists? If you hold this evidence, then please put it on the table so billions of people can quit wasting their time.

I cannot fathom that

a) everything I see around me is a result of trillions upon trillions of very luck highly impossible accidents

b) that the answers to prayer I've received could be explained in some other manner, although I can't imagine how

c) that the supernatural experiences I've had were not real, although I can't imagine how they occurred

c) that the Bible is some sort of conspiracy created by people who didn't know each other, who lied and died to make these words come to fruition, for no apparent reason

d) that Jesus was not the son of God and therefore a liar and a lunatic, yet no one can find fault in anything else he ever said or did, other than that he said he was god.

I can go on and on but I gotta run.

I will begin with a question:

Is it POSSIBLE that there is no supernatural being? I'm not saying that is what you believe, I am asking if it is -possible- that you are incorrect?

Well if you're looking for a true and honest answers I'll give you and honest reply as a christian. Obviously God is the center of christianity...and this being a christian board because the overwhelming majority of the posters on here are of christian faith you can't eliminate the idea of one with out the other so really to debate Gods existance you would be questioning the word of God (Bible) which is the very foundation in which we as christians stand on.

Biblical answer (should be the response of every christian because like I said that's our foundation):

2end Corinthians 5:6-10 6Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7We live by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. This verse tells the christian population that we are to live by our faith and not by the (Carnal) things of the world. In the bible for every great man and woman of God everything they accomplished for the kingdom they did so through their Faith in Him. They all fell at some point and time but they didn't let their short commings stop them from what they held on to inside of them...that being of faith. Some were burtaly murdered, and some became great rulers but neither more important than the other because they all worked in unity for a common purpose which was the spreading of the gospel.

1 Peter 1:8-11

8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

10Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

The teachings of christianity is simply to value our souls more than our flesh (physical bodies) because our bodies will all die at some point and time but our souls move on.

There's a lot more I could say with verses to back it up but I'm not going to approach anything futher unless you are earnestly and honestly looking for real answers and not just an argument otherwise it's a waist of ones time to sit here and spin their wheels.

God Bless!!

A person who is truly filled with the Spirit if Christ, their life is no longer their own. They become a servant of Christ and He uses us according to his will. In doing so, in these personal experiences with Christ, we begin to know him and in knowing him, we know he exists.

When you know, that you know, that you know, there is no one that can tell you any different.

Much love in Christ,

Lisabeth

And what of a Muslim with the same conviction that his faith is the truth?

That is a good question , FQ.

I find it important to keep challenging my own faith. It gives me a headache but in the end strengthens my faith in God and Yeshua.

I don't know if this was your intention, but I thank you for it :emot-hug:

May God bless you even if you don't believe in Him. He believes in you ;)

My faith says it is not possible. The entire natural world testifies to His being.

But, consider this:

If you are correct that there is no God, when I die, I've lost nothing.

If I am correct that God Is, when you die, you've lost everything and face eternity in hell.

Psalm 14:1--"The fool hast said in his heart, 'There is no God.'....

I implore you to seek Him and the salvation He lovingly offers.

Loving you in the love of the Lord,

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
