QUOTE(AKR @ Apr 28 2007, 03:39 PM)

Who God is, is in the heart of the person worshipping Him. If you say Allah and in your heart you are speaking to the God of the Bible, the God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - then yes it is the same as God. And perhaps I'm mistaken but Allah is the islamic name for God. Just like Dios is the spanish name for God and Gott is german for God. Maybe there another name out there associated in the Arabic communites for the Christian God. But I don't know of it. I can't go to a country and expect a person who for their entire lifes has know of the supreme begin God as Allah and expect them to begin calling them God because in my language it is God. Just like I wouldn't expect some person in Mexico who believes in Dios in a non christian manner to begin calling Him God because he coverts to Christianity and needs a new name for him. If you are so focused on the semantics of a name and not the hearts of the people speaking that name, you are going to loose a lot of battles.

I believe this is the crux of the distinction AKR, and I agree with your observations... I would add that Allah is rather the Arabic name for G-d, which when used in a Moslem context denotes a false G-d to whom Mohammed is supposed to be his prophet.

Put simply the Allah of Islam does not equate at all with the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but when many Moslems come to faith in Isa/Jesus they come to a recognition of who G-d truely is...they may well still call Him Allah, but their concept of him has changed and their understanding has undergone a massive overhaul through the personal revelation of the Holy Ghost. To say that a Moslem who has come to faith in Jesus the Messiah is blaspheming by calling G-d by the generic name Allah, does them a great diservice and can cause nothing but misunderstanding, resentment and alienation. Many have enough to contend with as their belief in Jesus as L-rd and Saviour can often cost them their life.

er....is there something wrong with having 70 virgins waiting for you in heaven?

I would think that it would be a pretty crappy afterlife for the virgins.

NO. How can they be the same when the man who beheaded Nicholas Byrd screamed as he literally sawed off his head..Allah is great!

The same reason a man killed an abortionist while whispering "for you Jesus"

I wrote a better reply last night but it disappeared. I touched on how sins may be different but collectively, they are all dumped into one basket. Therefore if we look at another religion, Islam here, and call them evil, we need to then start to look at our sister churches, like Mormonism, Catholicism, etc, whom we also passed judgment onto, the same way. Maybe even yours! Doing this, we are just placing ourselves in a box. I believe before you know it, our box will shrink and shrink until you, as the sole individual, are the only one worthy enough to make it in heaven.

If we look only in people's heart, you'll find god will be just as honored to accept good Islam people as well as you good people. Making judgments toward other people will only lead to sin.

I agree that there is good and bad in all people. Yet the real issue here is one of salvation, not of people's goodness or badness within themselves.

And God has revealed that salvation comes only through the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, and did for us what we couldn't do for ourselves.

So the real issue revolves around accepting that Jesus, and only Jesus, made a way for us to be saved, through His sacrificial death on our behalf. Other religions, such as islam....and indeed, some 'christian' denominations, don't accept this.

In my opinion, it's no use 'being nice' to people about their religion, if that religion propagates deceit and damnation. The issue is too important.

Sure, we should love all people, and hope and pray that they will come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, but to equate any other religion or belief system with the true faith, as revealed from heaven, does no-one any favours....

Not Christ, who died for that soul.

Not the person themselves, who need that salvation.

And not ourselves, who are tasked with showing the distinction between true and false 'religion'. And it is not only a 'task', but something we sincerely desire, out of love for both God and man. :24:

The so-called 'god' of islam is a demon.

An imposter. The devil.

Just because the word 'allah' means 'god' in arabic, doesn't mean it is the same God that Christians worship.

Many people have ascribed the label 'god' to various things or entities throughout history...including stone statues.

Labelling something 'god' doesn't mean it is the same god as another person's god.

The 'god' of islam is an evil, devilish murderer. And mohammed is a false prophet.

Exactly, StephenUK. You get it! :24: And that's really amazing because very few "get it". But I think more and more

Christians are beginning to see that satan set up his own sham religion back in the seventh century. "Allah" is actually a rehashed version of the old heathen moon god of ancient Babylon and surrounding regions. He has NO connection to the true Living God of Christianity.

Oh, I know a bit about the history of islam. What I find surprising is that you mention that this is 'amazing' that I should know that the two are not the same.

I would have thought that this would be common knowledge among Christians, who have made even a cursory comparison between the two religions.

If not, it should be. :emot-crying:

I think there are way to many Christians who fall for the "all roads lead to heaven" junk being bandied about by the liberal Mainstream Churches (for lack of a better word) they imply this if they don't just come right out and say it. When you stand up for Biblical truth your confronted with the stuff justaguy, posted earlier. There are good and bad people, all of them are trying to do whats right according to what they have been taught, blah, blah, blah. Just another way satan has tried to water down the Word, and we should all be prepared to stand against it.

Exactly so!

Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other (than Jesus): for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Jesus said: I am the way the truth and the life; no man cometh to the Father but by Me.

To preach any other means of salvation, (reconciliation with our Creator God) i.e. Mohammed or Buddah or angels, or good living or anything else, is to preach a false gospel, one that leads only to damnation. Let us all earnestly contend for the faith once and for all delivered....

In Jesus,

Ruth

stop this ......nothing to joke about heaven and hell....it is a final ETERNAL DESTINATION and ONLY JESUS CHRIST the LIVING GOD can take us there not a man made fictional religion or god or goddess or good works or dead works or good intentions or whatever.

Babylonian religions have been proliferating from the very moment man rebelled to Yahweh and will go on till JESUS CHRIST COMES BACK,religions KILL YOUR SOUL...ONLY JESUS CHRIST SAVES ETERNALLY those sinners that RECOGNIZE their lost condition, repent and call on HIM to be saved.

Mormons are not Christians. If you look at their beliefs, they do not have the same Jesus or the same concept of salvation and what saves us. Catholicism contains many off doctrines so much so that many people place their faith in the catholic church and not in Christ. Islam does not remotely worship the same God. If you read my earlier post, you would see why their allah isnt our God.

If we look only in people's heart, you'll find god will be just as honored to accept good Islam people as well as you good people. Making judgments toward other people will only lead to sin.

You are not Christian so you do not understand how the God of the bible isnt the same god of islam. God does not accept false worship. That is abundantly clear in the bible. God abhors the worship of idols. Which is what islam is, the worship of a false god. And one that calls on its followers to hate Gods chosen people: Jews. IF a muslim repents from islam and his or her sins, and turns to Jesus of the bible (not the Jesus of islam), then God would be pleased to accept him or her.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
