New bill would gives special preference to homosexuals

Call your representative today!

A new bill, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), has been introduced in the House of Representatives by homosexual Congressman Barney Frank. The bill (HR 2015) would force organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Veterans of Foreign Wars, day care centers, Christian business owners, adoption agencies, public schools, municipalities and a host of other businesses and organizations to hire homosexual applicants.

ENDA would make it illegal to fire, refuse to hire or refuse to promote an employee based on his or her sexual orientation or "gender identity." Such acts would be considered crimes subject to severe penalties. For a list of the co-sponsors of ENDA, Click here .

The same day that ENDA was introduced, another bill

And that's bad why exactly? You should never hire or fire someone based on their sexual orientation in the first place, that would be like firing someone for being a woman, or hiring someone for being a man.

I would oppose something like affirmative action for homosexuals, because I feel that people should'NT (sorry typo earlier) get a better chance to get a position based on race, but I am all for the playing field being equal at the same time.

just for the record, I edited my past post with a pretty big typo. I believe that people SHOULDN'T get a better or worse chance at something based on race or gender.

A private business shouldn't have to hire outside of who it wants to hire.

Likewise, it is not like rejecting someone of another race or of the opposite sex - they had no choice what color or gender they would be born. A homosexual, however, does have a choice.

Places like the Boy Scouts, private businesses, non-profit Christian organizations....all hold the right to reject or accept someone based on their sexual orientation. I wouldn't hire a pedophile, I wouldn't hire someone who practiced bestiality, and I probably wouldn't hire a homosexual.

People need to be respected and hired based on being people and being qualified, regardless of race, religion, sex, age, ect. If a homosexual wanted a job he/she should be able to get a job because they are a person first, not because they are homosexual. And there are already laws regarding this issue of employment. This is another way the democrats are wasting taxpayers money to have more laws governing the people. Homosexuals do not need special rights. They have the same rights as the rest of the American citizens, provided that they are also American citizens. This bill oversteps our freedoms to hire people over qualified people. There was a time that my brothers could not get a job because they were white and and Affirmative Action prohibited the companies from hiring all white employees. This hurt the company since there were not enough minorities in the area to fulfill the company's quota's. They opened the jobs up to women. Some women were able to do the jobs required, most were not, which created a high turnover rate. This was a very physical demanding job lifting boxes and crates. The company really did not care what color or gender there employees were, but just wanted wokers who could do the job. Another factor, which was not created for discrimination originally, was the fact that the employees needed to be able to read. The better their reading and writing skills, the higher the promotions. Those were the ones that went into management.

I am not opposed to homosexuals working. They need to eat too. But they should be hired because of their qualifications and willingness to do the job, not because they are homosexual.

You realize that by supporting this bill, Churches, seminaries, private schools, adoption agencies, and the Boy Scouts will now have to hire homosexuals, right?

i seem to recall the boy scouts already being required to hire homosexuals. people tend to forget that it is a non-profit faith based organization.

AK..not your fault..but you are incorrect. Unfortunately, Worthy is infested with fear-mongers, and they are constantly trying to adopt the victim status.

Directly from the bill itself:

This Act shall not apply to any of the employment practices of a religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society which has as its primary purpose religious ritual or worship or the teaching or spreading of religious doctrine or belief.

this Act shall not apply with respect to the employment of individuals whose primary duties consist of teaching or spreading religious doctrine or belief, religious governance, supervision of a religious order, supervision of persons teaching or spreading religious doctrine or belief, or supervision or participation in religious ritual or worship.

Under this Act, a religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society may require that applicants for, and employees in, similar positions conform to those religious tenets that such corporation, association, institution, or society declares significant.

In this Act, the term `employment' does not apply to the relationship between the United States and members of the Armed Forces.

This title does not repeal or modify any Federal, State, territorial, or local law creating a special right or preference concerning employment for a veteran.

Basically the entire bill is just stating that a person cannot discriminate ANY sexual orientation. To be completely honest, I thought much of this bill was already law...but maybe thats just cuz I am non-discriminatory. The bill also plainly states there are to be NO quota's or hiring practices based on quota's associated with this bill.

To actually read Bill 2015...if anyone is interested

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
