I heard that the international school in Jakarta was being closed. The department of foreign affairs has told all aussies to get out of Indo and only to stay if they have important business. I suppose you have very important business Brother your Fathers business  :thumb: May all there experience the Spirit through you. Have you considered sending your little ones back to Aussie mate? It may be a wise thing to do? May The Ancient Of Days protect you and guide you through these Days. His will be done.

there's quite a few international schools in jakarta....maybe 12 or so.

My wife is Indonesian and would never leave me for a day. so where i go, my family goes. maybe that's true spiritually also, so i have big reposibilities.

There are 2 main Christian schools in jakarta. the other one was targeted during the 98 may riots. we could also be a target.

God id good. He has protected us. Anything that happens can only affect our bodies but can't take our souls.

Besides, the students here are angels. You couldn't teach better students anywhere, except for the school i taught at in Eldoret Kenya. But both groups are amazing. it makes teaching a joy. When i was in australia last, i taught at a school from hell. My hat goes off to the teachers who can teach at those schools. I can't. I've taught at some wonderful christian schools in australia and enjoy teaching there also, but here i'm called and here i'll stay.

The advice from the australian government was for toursists and short term visitors not to come.

BTW bali is 900 km east of jakarta. I'm on the island of Java, which has a computer language named after it and coffee.

The Australian goverment told people to leave...

We have friends who are missionaries in Africa, they had seen alot of danger very close to where to live. (They are now home for 1 year)

The Lord looked after them and their family, they are teachers in a missionary school in Kenya.

Mutty, the Lord will look after you and your family because He loves you,  but if you feel its better to get out there for awhile, it might also be the Lord talking, just ask Him what to do, AND HE WILL GIVE YOU PEACE! Beause He loves you and wants to protect you!

I wored for a year as a missionary as a teacher in eldoret in Kenya.

The government didn't advise all people to leave, only tourists

All Australians in Indonesia who are concerned about their security should consider departure.  We recommend that short-term visitors whose presence in Indonesia is not essential depart.  The Australian Government has authorised, on a voluntary basis, the departure of non-essential staff and all dependants from its posts in Indonesia.

Australians are advised to defer all travel to Bali and defer all non-essential travel to other parts of Indonesia.  Australian visitors in Bali should consider advancing their departures on available flights.  In the meantime they should remain in their hotels, avoid public places where possible and call home to advise families of their wellbeing.

I'm not a short term visitor, i'm a resident. It's not safe but it never has been especially the last few years.
