Do you believe that parable of the talents was about our role in heaven or what is expected of us here and now. I never heard it associated with heaven. Have to think about this one.

Well, the one who had 5 and was a good steward received 5 more (well actually six--when the unfaithful servant [yet another refutation to OSAS] was sent to hell and his reward revoked, it was given to the one who had 5 +5).

If that applies, then the servant was cast down to hell from heaven? I have never heard it put that way. I believe the parable is about our service to the Master here and now and that God has given each of us various talents and resources. The issue is what do we do with those talents and resources? Regarding the 3rd servant, he failed to take his God-given talent and resource and use it for the Glory of God by reaching the lost. Regardless, you have an interesting perspective that I will have to give some thought.

Angel, to answer your question, I believe yes but it doesn't matter. What more should we want or need than to be in the presense of God. Years ago when I was newly born, I likened Heaven to a football game. You had players, coaches, fans, and so on. I was just full of Joy to know that I was in the stadium even if I was relinquished to selling hotdogs in the nose bleed section. OK, another dumb analogy but... Regardless, I want to see His Face and feel His Glory. That's all I need...no crowns neccessary.

My take on this? Let us be less concerned with rewards and punishments and more concerned with God's plan for each and everyone of us. It is ALL about service to him and we can trust his Word when he tells us that if we abide in Him, He will abide in us. Fear God and Obey His commands; that is the whole duty of man! [re: Ecc 12]

i always wondered about this too... do better christians get bigger mansions? or a better address closer to God's throne? i don't know what could be more rewarding than just being there. i do believe that heavenly rewards are Biblical, but i don't think we, as humans, can fathom what that actually means.

I think a closer walk will result in more Crowns of reward. The bible talks about it, so we can too. Not meaning that we are overly concerned by it, just learning more of God's word!

For those who disobey God, death.
