God hates sin, and He has determined to destroy all sin. God loves the world, but He calls us all to come out and be seperate unto him, and not to tough the unclean thing. Whatever sin we justify rather than repent of is certain to bring us death.

No active homosexual will be in heaven, but neither will any active lier, thief, or adulterer.

Galatians 5:19

When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for sinful pleasure, idolaltry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those inside your own little group, envy, drunkeness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

------------------------------------

We have to be careful when handpicking sins that we feel we don't do to disqualify other people from inheriting the Kingdom of God. There other passages of scripture that state these same types of things including disobeying your parents. They are usually accompanied by an urging to live by the Spirit and not the sinful nature (or flesh). The point is, we all need Jesus, our ONLY hope of Glory.

Yes, I typed this earlier but decided to post it as a topic so that I could get a legitimate response.

If God smote Sodom and Gomorrah (plz don't kill me on spelling, I do not have my bible on hand) for the homosexual acts committed there, does he love the gays? Or were they just so far gone that God knew that they would only pervert the world? What?

Hmm. We've had lots of threads like this. I think the take-home message is: Gods hates the sin, not the sinner.

God's smiting Sodom and Gomorrah could be seen as a favor, since it precluded further damning sins by those people. He saved them from themselves, so to speak.

Much like a loving father God will chastize a beloved son. Our parents punished us or those things we did wrong...Do we expect God to do any less?

God loves ALL. if he didnt then He wouldnt have sent Jesus now would He? :)

Jesus didnt come for the perfect and right before God. He came for the sinner. He will leave 99 sheep to go find that one lost one. :)

:emot-pray::whistling:

people don't go to Hell because God doesn't love them, they go to Hell because they won't love Him.
:whistling::whistling:

Awesome answers!

NOTHING separates us from God's love.

However, SIN separates us from His presence.

Homosexuals ARE loved by God, therefore they should be loved by Christians.

God loves the person not the sin, therefore we should do the same.

As far as God having no emotions! What? . . . :13:

I posted this in another thread, but I post it again in this one . . .

John 11:35, "Jesus wept." :20:

Emotion-less beings do NOT weep. :24:

Jesus was fully man and fully God, so to say God has no emotion is to say that Jesus doesn't either.

If God has no emotion He would NEVER have sent Jesus (His only begotten Son) to give His life for us. :b:

And, if Jesus has no emotion He would NEVER have voluntarily given His life to save any of us sinful creatures. :o

:taped::wub::taped:

Consider another view:

I want to ask you this question: Christians are called to

Charles Finny walked in the light that he was given, and his reasoning is wrong, heres why.

THE SCRIPTURE SAYS...

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

We were clearly loved by God AS SINNERS.

The problem is not that God did not love the world, for God so loved the world that HE gave...

John 3:16

The problem is that many did not love God, nor desire Him...

Rom 1:28

Joh 5:42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

God hates sin, and will destroy all that love sin, with the sin itself.

As we are created in the image of God, then every emotion we possess is possessed by God.

So God can lust? I mean, you could try and categorise lust as being exclusively a sin rather than an emotion, but the Bible states more than once that God is capable of jealousy despite jealousy/envy being a deadly sin, so it seems just as reasonable to conclude that, working from this basis, God can feel "sinful" emotions, too, rather than just pure ones.

Which raises the question: if God is perfect but can feel lust and jealousy, then are these emotions inherently sinful no matter who feels them, or are they only sinful for mankind, and not God?

I think that the context of jealousy in the bible can be easily misunderstood. The dictionary defines it in 2 ways below:

1. Vigilant in guarding something: We are jealous of our good name.

2. Intolerant of disloyalty or infidelity; autocratic: a jealous God.

Both of these contexts have been used in the Bible to describe God. I think that the word is used to be descriptive of vigilance or intolerance rather than describing God having the emotions of jealousy which are suspicion or resentment.

Just as the word "fear" is used in the bible ( fear God). This word is not used in the traditional emotion of fear (frightened) but to describe reverence or awe. We are not to be afraid of God - we are to revere Him. Common words used in a less common way.

It's also important to remember that the bible gives us the best possible understanding of the incomprehensible. Finite language to describe the infinite.

Hey -

I apologize for not having the time to read through this thread to get the gist of where it is going, but this seemed the right place to post this.

*****

After 29 years as a gay activist, former lesbian magazine publisher Charlene Cothran stunned the homosexual community when she announced she had become a Christian.

She has renounced her homosexuality, and changed the format of her magazine to spread the Gospel to the gay community.

<snip>

"When the Lord saved me, I knew everything would change," she said. "All of the ads, the editorials, the mission of the magazine had changed. We're going to be calling people out of homosexuality."

Most of the response from the gay and lesbian community has been fierce and negative. But she says she knows that many of them are just as conflicted as she was.

Cothran said, "In order to fill up this empty space, they pretend to put on this wonderful face, 'how gay and happy I am,' when in fact -- there's a lot of loneliness in the gay community that's not talked about, and it's real."

But there has been positive feedback as well. Cothran says she gets lots of e-mails from people who say they struggle with homosexuality and want out.

Read the entire transcript here . :emot-highfive:

This is absolutely incredible. THIS is what it is to be "changed" by the Spirit of God. Than you for this link Nebula.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
