A Letter that was in the Letters to the Editor Today

In answer to a previous letter, the writer says:

Mr. Stone asks why we can spend $400 billion in Iraq but not $152 billion on education and health care benefits.

Fighting savage, head-chopping barbarians who want America destroyed is the proper job of the federal government. Providing education and health care benefits across the board is not.

No peaches, not scary, true. It's not our government's job to medicate or educate; we're a federalist republic. Health and education are the responsibility of the individual states. The federal government is charged with protecting us from foreign threats, although they do contribute to state funds.

It's amazing how many Americans NOW want cradle-to-grave coverage from Uncle Sam! The Land of the Free and Home of the Brave is fast becoming one big, national day care center.

Well actually, our federal government's job is do to what we the taxpayer and voter ask of it. So long as its actions do not violate constitutionally protected rights, any responsibilities we place in the public sector are perfectly constitutional. Roughly 100 years worth of Supreme Court rulings support that.

LOL...just today I was bemoaning the coming school year. Thinking of all the liberal gobbity-goop I was gonna have to deal with for another 9 nine months.

Americans are getting dumber and dumber because the vast majority of teachers from grade school through college are liberals.

This is true only in this way: We could fund them til we were all flat broke, and they still would be crying tht they didn't have enough money.

The other huge problem is the liberal agenda and curricula.
