Dear Kenna

I read all three long articles so that I could feel qualified to at least give you an answer.

It may surprise some to realise that the word "antichrist" is used only 5 times in the Bible, and in all cases it was used in the Epistles of John. I am going to quote all 5 instances so that we can compare what John says with what is said in your above three articles.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

1 John 2:18 says the4re are many antichrists, and that they were currently (first century - before the Catholic Church) in the world.

1 John 2:22 says that anyone who lies, denying that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah), is an antichrist.

1 John 4:3 says that any spirit which denies that Jesus has come in the flesh is a spirit of antichrist

2 John 1:7 says the same as 1 John 4:3 - i.e. anyone and everyone denying that Christ has already come as a man is an antichrist. I.e. there were many antichrists around in the first century.

Putting this all together, it seems that there is no one specific man or organisation who is "THE antichrist".

Popular fiction and books such as The Late Great Planet Earth and the Left Behind series may try to label THE Beast or THE False Prophet, or THE "little horn" of Daniel 7:8 as THE antichrist, but the word "antichrist" does not apply to just one man or organisation, but to many, and any denying Christ. At least that's what I get from a study of all places in the Bible where this word is used

i was most certainly not bashing the pope, he is not the Antichrist! Like I said, don't leave any comments unless you read it (edited by moderator - please keep the discussion on the issues not our opinion on how peoples actions reflect on their intelligence).

I too, do not believe that the Antichrist is one man at the end of time. I do not believe the antichrist is the pope. I know about those verses and I am going to do a whole message and that and the ones in 2 thess. The pope is just an identifying mark of the Antichrist beast power ("A Man at its head").......The antichrist is a system of false worship set in place of God's true worship. That is exactly what we have today, Sunday worship and the pope claiming that he can forgive sins.....again, the pope is not the Antichrist, it is a system of false teachings and worship. There is no "one man" Antichrist. The King of the North in daniel 11 is another chapter dedicated to exposing the papacy as the Antichrist. If you don't believe me, just read Martin Luther's notes on who the Antichrist is. God bless.

It certainly IS Rome bashing. There was nothing new here, this is all very very old stuff. You could have taken most of it from the margin notes of the Geneva Bible of 1560! But I didn't claim you said the Pope was the antichrist....do pay attention my boy!

My main point is really that the problem with Christians today is they'd rather know about antichrist than JESUS CHRIST!

Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
