I believe in it to an extent. Yes you need to ask God and you don't have to beg. I know certain scriptures about it and will look them up. But basically it is in accordance with Gods will. God gives us the desires of our hearts, I have been taught this means God places his desires for us in our hearts to ask him for our needs according to what he has placed in our heart. Not things that are material or not of God. Not material unless you really are prompted by the Holy Spirtit to pray in that way.

The difference between a young lad praying for a hotted up car cause he wants to go fast and look hot and a church praying for a bus or a church member praying for a car to help with tranportation problems with in a church.........

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:7-10

Thanks andrew thats the one...but in the church I was at..of course the whole verse wasn't used they liked to put a period where there was a comma :x:

Heres some more they used to use...

To have answered prayer. 1 john 5:14

Prosperity=He became poor so that we could become rich. 2Corinthians 8:9

^now they explained that seed=money....and the fruit=our rewards (material things mind you)

this church was really good at making you think that God wanted you to have all the good stuff....big houses...nice cars..clothes....jewelry...etc...and one of the saddest things was that they also teach this same philosiphy in the childrens church...my children came out one night with a picture they colored and it was of an elderly lady standing on her porch and you could see her yard had been raked by a child...but this child was holding up money fanned out in his hand...I wish I could remember the verse they used...anyway that did it for me...I was already getting suspicious of the church by this time...and I made sure I told both my kids right in front of the childrens pastor that "The christian thing to do would be to rake her yard out of love...not for money!"

As far as answered prayer God does answer all our prayers but the fact is sometimes the answer in NO. And I trust His judgement alot more than I do mine :noidea:

And you have to remember these church's do use just a little truth...but mostly they twist scripture around to fit their needs...which is to get more money from you so THEY can live richly.

Just my two cents though :x:

Love and Blessings,

Angel H.

Angel,

I remember you sharing this with us before and it's still just as astounding to hear about these predators .... actually prey on little children's minds to coerce them into making these wolves richer than rich.

It seems sad that people are without a heart and think only about themselves. How utterly sad that they had reached that level of spiritual decay.

Thank God for those prayers that are answered with no, not with the intent to hurt our spirit but because He loves us and knows what is best for us. Even though us adults act like spoil children ( which we are his children ) He loves us enough to say no to all our wants and sometimes blesses us with our wants that wont harm us. If only we as parents on Earth could learn that wisdom from our Abba Father ( Daddy ). He is an amazing Father who we can trust totally.

Fellow Saints,

May the Lord Bless HIS Church! The name it, blab it, have a limo to have victory crowd jerk my chain. Them and the Prosperity Crowd miss a major thing Christ said when the Apostles were gettnig mad over the expensive nard that was dumped on Jesus head. They talked about the thing being sold and given to the poor, Jesus said in response that we would always have the poor with us. So apparently Gods Word does not teach we all have to have a huge load of cash, a mansion, and 4 cars to have the victory! Anyway...thats just how I see it, and I enjoy being poor in the world eyes but rich in Christ!

Yippy, if you want that new car, why you just step out in faith and write a check for it and God will see to it that money is in the bank Monday morning!

I do believe Jesus meant for that verse to be used with a small grain of common sense, ya know?

Amen, Ronald. 'Nuff said.

I have heard of someone who actually did this and they were right with Gods leading ( for them ). Then the pastor who spoke about it said how he copied the same move and "really, really " LOL felt God was leading him only to find it wasn't God but him wanting the same.

I do think God can move in this way but you'd wanna be real sure it's God.

Our pastor now uses his story to illustrate God's will versus our materialistic hopes.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
