Good Question Dear Sister

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

Numbers 6:24-27

You can't put a limit on God's grace. He can save one on their deathbed, in the last seconds of their life, as easy as he can a child. Remember...it's not about anything we've done or can do...it's all about what Christ has done.

But, for those who believe they're gonna live a life of sin, doing all that they please, and at the last moment say the "sinners prayer" and somehow "pull one over on God"....

...that won't happen. For one, there is no guarantee that you'll even live until tomorrow, let alone old age. And God knows the heart. Only those who are truly sincere and repentant will be saved. It's not the words, it's what you truly believe. Living a lifetime without God, and then drumming up saving faith at the last moment would be difficult, if not impossible.

Those will be among the one's who will cry "Lord, Lord" and Jesus will say, "I never knew you. Depart from me."

The Parable of the Workmen in the Vineyard

"For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with the laborers for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard. When he went out about nine o'clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace; and to them he said, 'You also go into the vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.' So they went. When he went out again about noon and about three o'clock, he did the same. And about five o'clock he went and found others standing around; and he said to them, 'Why are you standing here idle all day?' They said to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard.' When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, 'Call the laborers and give them their pay, beginning with the last then going to the first.' When those hired about five o'clock came, each of them received the usual daily wage. Now when the first came, they thought they would receive more; but each of them also received the usual daily wage. And when they received it, they grumbled against the landowner, saying, 'These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have born the burden of the day and the scorching heat.' But he replied to one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage? Take what belongs to you and go; I choose to give to this last as I give to you. Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous.?' " (Matthew 20:1-15)

**********

This has a lot to do with God saving those at anytime in their lives. Some Christians feel that their entire lives spent in the service of God gives them a special "right" to salvation and rewards...while God points out, he is generous to save and reward at anytime.

"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. " Acts 16:31

There is nothing we can do to obtain salvation other than believe. We are not saved by works, but our faith should be evident by our works:

"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works." James 2:18.

If a person accepts Christ on his deathbed he will have no chance of living out his faith on earth. But again, it is our faith - no works - that save us.

A huge problem in thinking that you can wait until that moment of death is that you never know when that might be. What if you put off salvation, but are instantly killed in a car accident, or die of a massive heart attack. Then there will be no time to repent of your sins and accept Jesus. It is better to accept Him before it is too late.

Yes. Time is not the issue.

Amen. John Wayne accepted Christ on his deathbed...which is very cool because I always wanted to shake that man's hand. Hopefully I can persevere to the end to enter eternal life as well.

I'm not saying that John Wayne is the reason I want to go to heaven! But, after God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, the Apostles, and a whole bunch more very cool Christian historical figures, it would be neat to meet the Duke.

If we have truly been regenerated there is no "if" about it. The bible promises us that all those who are truly regenerated by trusting in Jesus alone will persevere. It is a result of salvation.

You go on with your assurance, I'll go on persevering and working out my salvation in fear and trembling.

And it says those who persevere to the end WILL be saved, not have already been saved. Matt 10:22, Matt 24:13, Mark 8:35

But there's John 3:3, where Jesus says "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Then Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Working out one's savation could be like how one works out their body: you got it, now work it out.

Back on topic: yes, the example of the repentant thief on the cross shows that will be saved if they become born-again before death. However, it must be stressed that one must not tempt God because we don't know when we're going to die. The bad thing about a deathbed conversion is that not everybody reaches the deathbed before they die.

Be very careful how you convey and perceive this thought! Don't be fooled or conned into thinking that anyone can run their entire lives ignoring God's calling on them to live a Christian life and they not hasten to his call, then when they find themselves in a hospital or on their death bed, they finally decide that they need to repent in their last days....... I can't imagine God taken lightly to that....God cannot be fooled. And he does not tolerate foolishness.

Blessings

Not sure if I agree this time Joe??? (It's not the distance traveled) If God made numerous attempts to reach you during the duration of yoou "entertaining" you sins and you refused HIM, and you suddenly found yourself on your death bed and near death and decided to "repent" just before you expired, God is not a fool, and He is very clear on this subject in HIS Bible.

How is that question being asked? Is it someone that just happened to be dying and the Lord brought into remembrance the Gospel he once heard, but put it off to think about it another time because he was young and need not worry about God and Heaven yet or .......

Is this question being asked in regards to someone that heard about Jesus, but would rather continue living in sin and then call on Him should he find himself dying?

The answer to the first question is yes... he will be saved.

The answer to the second scenario points out several problems....

If preferring the darkness rather than coming to the Light, that person may not want to call on the Lord when he dies.

Another problem would be if the person dies before he could call on the Lord to save him because people can die suddenly and without notice.

But it is possible for that person wanting to live in sin to call on the Lord to be saved if he finds himself dying to do so in time, as it is written, all those that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That is a promise from God.

But that is a very risky stance to take since death could strile at any moment.

Some people have different reasons for not coming to Jesus. One I have seen is the religious call of the age like the commitment to Christ in order to come to Jesus. That is not the full Gospel.

The Gospel is about Jesus Christ being the Saviour in that He came to deliver sinners from their sins... so that sin shall no longer have dominion over them. A sinner cannot see in himself to make a commitment to Christ in coming to Him because he cannot see it in himself to make it for he is a slave to sin.... as in he still has desires to sin and cannot see himself giving them up as the sin has dominion over him. It is for this cause, Jesus came.. to destroy the works of the devil in our lives so that we are no longer slaves to sin. He is called the Saviour not only because there is eternal life in Him, but He saves us from our sins. He is called Our Good Shepherd because He is going to help us live as His so that is why the religious calling to make a commitment to Christ has no power because it is on the sinner to do it, but the Gospel is about Jesus Christ and God's Covenant to us that He will do it and all He asks from the sinner is believe on Me. The hope for living the christian life as well as eternal life is all on Jesus Christ and that is why He is the Good News to man... for it is a relationship with God based on trust in Him and His promises to us.

So unless the sinner just wants to live in sin and does not care to have a relationship with God made possible by Jesus Christ and through Jesus Christ, then there really is no reason why the sinner should not come to Him now for He will deliver us from our sins and help us live as His. That is His glory.

YES, Yes, All who call upon JESUS will be SAVED. And the last will be first and the first will be last. We will be suprised at who is up there!!

I was transferred from one place to the next on my Job. I knew then there was someoone needing the Lord Jesus or some type of ministering to.

None of the patients I had seemed to witness to my Spirt.

I had seen nurses going it and out of a room, actually running out. In asking about that room I was told a man in there who is spitting his contaminated blood at every nurse who tries to take care of him was in there. They were keeping the curtain surrounding him for their protection and taking turns going in.

This unfortumately witnessed to my Spirit..I prayed and prayed for I was not to talk to him behind the curtain. Eventually with reservation I entered his room, pulled back the curtains and stood at the foot of his bed. I saw the most bitter, angry, horrible emaciated man I ever did see with a wad of bloody spit ready to hew towards me. He looked absolutely taken over by devils and in such torment.

Forgetting myself, which the Holy Sprit had the upper hand and with the authority of Jesus commanded to speak to this man. Said what needed to be said. The compassion of our Lord Father just filled my being for this person I did not know but He knew, The Love and compassion was enough to make this man stop and listen. He accepted the Lord as his savior and died that very day.

The nurses could not believe I was in there more than ten minutes with this man. He fell asleep that night and never gave trouble to the care givers that night. He had not been asleep in many days.

I would have passed this man by if I looked at the natural.. and I know some people will be suprised to see him up there but I can't wait :emot-hug:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
