I have wrestled with this too. And so did Paul. The fact is that as long as we live in these putrid bodies of flesh, the spirit that dwells within us will wrestle against the flesh. And we end up doing the very thing or things that we don

There are some issues in my life that I have been trying to give to God. Its very hard to trust God with things that you have been so used to trying to control. My question; you go to God and tell him you will have faith through obedience, you do good for a while and you even sence God's presence unlike you have before but in a week moment, you fall. You try to take matters into your own hands because of the pain involved with waiting on God. You then choose an earthly means to meet your need. You blew it because you didn't wait. Do you have to start all over or can you pick right back up where you fell?

Dan

you do not have to start all over again. :o remember the bicycle? at first it was hard to even balance - then you could go a few feet before crashing into a bush (my own experience, of course) pretty soon you're cruising along and one day 'no hands!'

'one day at a time' - i realize some say that's an overused cliche but it works for me and i hope it works for you.

Psalm 103:13-15

The Lord is like a father to his children,

tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

For he knows how weak we are;

he remembers we are only dust.

Our days on earth are like grass;

like wildflowers, we bloom and die.

It is not wrong to need to be loved and feel loved, but from the sounds of your post I think you are settling for a lot less than pure love. Satan can use our carnal desires to come between us and a closer walk with Jesus. From my own experience I can tell you that rushing ahead of God's plan and taking things into my own hands were the worst times of my life. God had a wonderful man for me, but I rushed things and thought I knew better. I was willing to compromise and settle for less than God had for me. There is a wonderful woman for you somewhere, but let God lead you two together and then don't let lust lead in the relationship.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

Jesus is your friend...talk to Him like you would your best friend. Tell Him how much you need a "mother" and then pray the you will have the patients to wait for Him to provide.

Hey dgolvach,

First, :b: It's a struggle to let go of those things which we have allowed to have control in our lives  Know that there are so many here who care and want to see your prayers answered

The thing about "fumbling" is that we often think of "I failed again" and we think that we have to "start over". Sin is a struggle, especially one of this sort of nature, it seems binding... get up for a little bit, make a commitment, and then go right back down to square one. It's hard to admit it to yourself, and then to God because you know He cares and there is shame that goes with it. However, the bible says "the just man falleth seven times and rises again". The key is just getting back up.

There are so many on here who care and who have gone through what you're going through right now... I can say that I've struggled with some things, and struggle, but God is answering prayer.... Isaiah siad that God answers our prayers before we ask them, and he listens when we pray.

The thing about a guy to guy and being intimate, why not think of Him as a father instead? A father holds his arms open wide for His Son and cares for Him like no other... disciplines him as required, but the father guides the son by the hand. If we're saved, we are his children. If we are saved, it's the only way to have freedom from sin, but once you're saved, the bible says it's possible.

Romans 6 and 7 shows that even Paul, such a great man of the faith, struggled with sin, but the key in these chapters is that we are not bound by that sin anymore. Yes, it feels like we are still in bondage, though spiritualy we are not, becuase sin has such a stronghold on one's life. Do'nt believe the devil's lies becuase there IS a way out and it doesn't have to have control over you....

The question is, what is your desire? Do you desire this thing that you shouldn't have, or do you truly desire to be free from it? Psalm 37:4 "Delight thyself also inthe Lord, and he will give you the desires of thine heart"... If your desires, are God's desires, then he will give you the desires of your heart.

:emot-hug: It's a real struggle, it truly is...

If you fall, get back up... and no matter what anyone else says, you don't have to "fall" again... you may slip up from time to time, but you don't have to. I got tired fo people telling me, "Trust the Lord. You'll fail here and there, but get back up". You don't HAVE to "fail" anymore because we have Christ, that father. At times, it seems like that is the only answer, but sin is a pleausre but for a season.. it only lasts for so long and then it turns to misery.

Sometimes, the Christain life is two steps forward and one step back, or even one step foward adn two steps back, but keep going forward. Most importantly, beyond salvation, get in (or stay in) God's Word every day... start and end your day with God's Word, adn have a prayer life .... ask God to take away this desire... he will seriously take it away! It's possible!!

I think possibly the most important thing when struggling with something, is accountability. Right here might be it, but find someone who can hold you accountable to doing what is right... this means being honest, but it means telling them if you "fail", and then they'll encourage you to go on, they'd be praying for you and comforting you, and keeping saying, "Jsut one more day"... It will also be fellowship in Christ and you can have victory! Ask God for strength and pray about it becuase God truly does answer prayer.

:o You're not alone :32:

I hope this helps... keep going, one day at a time  God is good :24:

In Christ,

Crystal

Brother Dan,

You have a world of knowledge from the point of where you fell, why would you want to punish yourself or insult God by starting all over? God led you TO it and HE will lead you THROUGH it. He never said "Begin again" right? Things like drugs and other vices, for instances are very powerful. As well as sexual sins. They are a stronhold that satan uses to manipulate many. But they hold no power when you are in God's Heavenly Hands. Until one gets the poison or sin out of their sysem, it will always call them back into it. Don't be fooled by satan that you have to begin all over. He is cunning and wise; even in his own foolishness. He can even fool God's people at times. But if you stand strong In Jesus' Name satan will leave you soon enough. And you willl know the Power of God. I will begin praying for you on my day off as we speak. Amen!

Be Blessed

Hello Brother Dan

I don't know if you've thought about this but could God be trying to tell you to learn to have more patience with your mother. I'm just wonder how a mother that seems so cold could mistreat a child that she bore, with such distance? The only think I have to question is possible she experienced something very similar in her life as well. I know I experienced for many years in my youth things very similar to you , but with my father. He was always around but not for his children. Oh, I guess he loved us, but because of the abuse he experienced in his early childhood, he couldn't show love to us. His love was always from a distance. Only now in his late age, is he able to show love. Before , in my childhood days he thought the way to show love was through money. Hence, we could have grown up very screwed up except for the gift of a blessed mother who had to tolerate his abuse and sortcomings. But mom knew God and taught us well. She taught us how to forgive and not be afraid to reach out to others and share our love with them, no matter how manly we seem, we all seek the gentle concern of another. We all have to depend on each other, ourselves while here on earth as well as knowing God is our Provider from Heaven.

Blessings and Prayers brother Dan

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
